Thanks for the review. I saw some other "complainer" reviews and it's nice to see someone who has half a brain to be able to get past the "idiot" complaints and give a good review. I have a small fireplace in my bedroom and I want to put the stove in it to have more of a controlled burn source of heat.
The reason that the stove is N0T recommended for indoor use isn't safety. This stove has N0T been "certified" by the EPA on pollution standards for a permanent indoor residential installation.
Really like this setup. I’ve been looking at others and yours seems to be a well thought out build. Could you please share what insulated stove pipe you’re using and what the thimble going through the wall looks like? Your setup has me seriously considering this stove for my shed but, I didn’t like the stove pipe that comes with the stove. Thank you.
thanks for watching! i used the first section that came with the stove because it has the flue damper. then i laser cut a piece of 12g stainless with an inside diameter to easily slide over the pipe and an outside diameter bigger than the next section with a worm gear clamp holding it in place. over this pipe is a section of 4 inch exaust pipe used for heating and cooling (clothes dryer type) all of it was purchased at home depot. also used high temp silver tape and high temp caulk... got those on amazon. get 600 degree and higher type
Did you contact the retailer about the handle? And yeah, the seal on the door of mine came off too, but it think it improved the ability to close the door better and allowes for a better draft
