In our latest audio, Oxygen Advantage® founder and Director of Education and Training, Patrick McKeown leads you through guided breathing and relaxation to help prepare you for athletic performance.
The prospect of facing sporting competition can be quite daunting. After months if not years of preparation, we can often put pressure on ourselves to perform. This can lead to great success, but it can also cause us to falter in our performance.
Too much pressure to perform can affect our mental health, increase our anxiety and thus our heartrate and in doing so, make competition much harder. This 25-minute clip is designed to help prepare you for competition, to help calm your body and mind and focus you for the task ahead.
Simply play the audio in the weeks leading up to and just before competition. Let Patrick’s voice guide your breathing and set you up for a strong athletic performance.

When you are “breathing light” do you inhale to full capacity and exhale out all of your air?
@OxygenAdvantage
@OxygenAdvantage Год назад
No @colinh718, You want to keep a certain amount of carbon dioxide in the lungs as it helps with the oxygen uptake in the blood (Bohr Effect). Inhale as if you are barely breathing, making the nose hairs barely move. Make sure the breathing is light, low, slow and through the nose. You want to create a tolerable air hunger. If it gets too difficult, take a break for a minute and try again. Breathing should be slow and controlled.
