Bit of an old video but it has to be mentioned for people who stumble upon this: As other people have already said, you can (and should) manually reload always using R2 and square (or triangle apparently), it is a lot faster. If you do not manually reload, you can get interrupted very easily, which makes Mista panic and makes it so that you can not have more than 4 bullets in your chamber. Also, the difference between the square skill and the normal attack is that, if you have any Sex Pistols out on the field between you and the enemy, shooting the square skill will make it so that you make use of that Sex Pistol to bounce the bullet. Using the normal attack will instead shoot directly at the enemy regardless of any Sex Pistols floating in the air between you (this could actually be the other way around, might wanna test that before taking my word on it, I don't have the game on right now).
Actually L2 is a stronger square BUT it auto-reloads back to full so it’s good for continuing a triangle combo or getting someone who’s near you and you probably need a quick reload So for example say you have all of Sex Pistols on Trish, you can use square 5 times until gets to 1, then L2 to get back to 6 and fire an additional 6 so in total you’d have 11 shots all hitting on Trish while Sex Pistols uses Pass Pass Pass so you just drop a person down a full health bar PURELY by not even needing to reload

Well you can always recharge your ammo by holding R2 and pressing either triangle or square. And the fact that Mista is broken is an atonement for how much eh sucked in All Star Battle :P
L2 is really useful, but only if you use the circle skill to set up traps. L2 inmeadetly reloads, and gives super armor (too bad it's fucking useless, because you are far from the enemy). Now, move close to a Sex Pistol, mash the square skill, and when you are out of bullets, use L2, mash again, press R2+square to use the manual/instant reload, keep mashing and use L2 again, to keep up good pressure onto an enemy, keeping it distracted, or for getting a stronk dps.

4:40 Who knows why the dev did that? Maybe someone smarter than you will use it to make damage in the back of the ennemy to make extra damages when they come closer to them? Just saying.
