The key is winning and she isn't a psycho since she has shown empathy which psychos lack. She is more manic expressing and feeling emotions of herself and others in a complete overexaggerated manner.

Original A.B.A wasn't as expressive but rather shy in her animations while today's A.B.A completely accepts that she is in a unique mind situation "breaking out" like her theme says out of the normal Symphony.
From what I have seen it’s the same? he just stopped manipulating her after a while because she’s in love with him, and he didn’t need to (idk much about the story)

Character background TLDR (even shorter TLDR at the end): Rapidly regenerating homunculus girl isolated for 10 years is obcessed with keys, and comes across a blood-thirsty, key-shaped demon axe, that she now deems her husband (and is surprisingly very kind, calm, yet a bit gloomy and stoic when in its key form). A.B.A.'s battle style goes from getting her blood used to power up the axe, to now having her jealousy and negative emotions being so strong that it heavily affects Paracelsus's form and sanity (he also no longer drains her blood). Too long, but did read: A very clingy and emotionally unstable homunculus girl isolated inside a lab, for about 10 years (her creator was taken away by the military, before she was even born), presumably found the key to the door, and is now obcessed with key collecting. For her, they represent opening a new world and escaping imprisonment. A.B.A. is a fast regenerator, so her blood is constantly being "refilled". This also applies to body parts it seems? As she once just relocated her arm that had been cut off. A certain battle and bloodthirsty demon axe was also stuck inside the lab, and took notice of these regenerating abilities she possessed. Not really being able to move on its own, the axe changed it's appearance into one similar of a key, hoping that this homunculus would see it and pick them up. However, Paracelsus doesn't manipulate her fully, showing a kind part of him to the girl. This demon axe could have mind controlled her however it pleased, but never did. This compassionate, stoic but calm side of his very likely came from getting humbled by a classy vampire in a fight, after said vampire found out the true weakness of a beast he was fighting: it wasn't a beast at all, but a demonic sentient weapon inside a body that didn't belong to it (this vampire is a character that is very strong, if not the strongest in the entire series). This made the weapon lose the vessel it used before, and was rendered useless without a host or wielder. Before this battle, Flament Nagel (his true name) was a combat hungry battle weapon that fed off of the blood of both it's enemies and mind controlled hosts. It wandered deserted lands as a lone violent beast when the battlefield grew empty, until that fateful fight took place. After getting "retired", the axe would show to feel very gloomy about his "glory days", but as he bonded more with A.B.A, those feelings started to slowly fade away. Some extra details: - The axe's new name, Paracelsus, was given to him by his (reluctantly so) now wife, in honor of her creator's name; - Ironically, this hellish battle weapon is the voice of reason for A.B.A, trying to calm her down and stop her constant delusional and depressive thoughts/actions in a kind, non-opressive way; - Also surprisingly, Paracelsus is now one for good sportsmanship. He isn't as big on violence anymore, but still likes a good fight and compliments his opponents. However... - A.B.A, despite having a giant key-looking axe as her husband (which Paracelsus doesn't fully agree with but can't escape), will go extremely jealous of anyone even interacting with him at all and is constantly paranoid that someone will take him away; - As they bonded, A.B.A's negative and jealous demeanor made Paracelsus so unstable that now he can't turn back to his original structure, being unable to control his own body form (this is what the strong, bubbling black tar form comes from). Edit: Shorter TLDR: Once isolated, regenerating homunculus girl obcessed with key collecting finds a "retired" blood-thirsty demon axe, and deems it her husband. She is clingy, possesive and dreary, while he is surprisingly calm, kind, yet stoic and a bit gloomy. (I know having 3 separate texts to explain the characters is a bit much but hey, if it gets the point across, it gets the point across ┐(´_｀)┌ lol)

Psychologists don't "fix" people, they offer them the support, skills, guidance, and at times medications for people to battle their own issues. Something ive noticed, old jealous rage looks like shes on to verge of a panic attack, the new one feel like shes barely able to keep calm enough to even fight effectively because of how angry she is Also paracelsus is a total hotty, absolute cutie. It was called Moroha (Double Edge) Mode back on Isuka and XX. It's was similar to Jealous Rage except that instead of Aba being angry, she is sacrificing her blood for Paracelsus to work at full capacity. She did this by feeding him a blood bag (of her own blood) and having the blood in her body slowly drained faster than her homunculus regeneration can keep up with while he is in that form. She's not mad, her body's actively going into shock. Back in the day, the duality of her D tier base form and her S tier Moroha Form (plus an additional, even more powerful form called Goku Morha on top of that) was centered around switching into Moroha, blitzing the enemy, getting her grab off, and switching back to recover the HP you lost while pressuring. When Paracelsus said "be both were in a toxic relationship", he meant it literally

It is implied that that black oil is underneath the horned version, as in the install version of her overdrive, it takes the general shape, but as a fleshy mass of black meat and teeth.

she is not "scared" in 2003. she is suffering. in old game , to use para at his full strength she would give him her blood via blood packs or simply letting him bit her. and then to stay in in that state he would continoulsy drain her blood. which is why she would lose health in older games
Maybe it's because I'm old fan, so played an earlier versions, but the earlier version of A.B.A I liked better. But in the 2024 version I like better the way they developed the Paracelsus personality - so now he's feels a little more than just a weapon or familiar. Although, A.B.A herself turned from a timid emotionally unstable emo girl into just a generic crazy aggressive yandere.
Yeah, I too liked her timid personality better. Wish she atleast kept some of that, since it makes sense with her backstory. Now her whole personality is thirsting for Parcelsus.
Tbf both personalities work given her backstory. She's been isolated with him for a decade. And coming into the real world with just him could result in acting the way she does in both versions. Timid because all she had as a connection was him. Thirsting over him because he is the only one she fell in love with. Story wise in the new version Aba and para want to make their relationship work. So her being the way she is in the new one makes sense. I don't know how the 2003 arcade version talked about their relationship but I'm sure it was somewhat similar or has something to do to fix her timid attitude
It's interesting, I'm the old game you can see her possessive obsession of him. Clinging to him like someone's going to take him. And now it's like she's gone complacent. She still holds him, but it's almost like she's forgotten why
Actually, in the first sprites, it's moreso trying to stand up using the axe for support, as before, she used her blood to feed him and use his stronger battle form. She had her blood constantly drained then, rendering her a bit weaker than she is now She also definitely did not forget why, she is completely head over heels over the thing and is jealous of anyone even talking to it lol
I had to watch the key transformation few times and I realize how she’s using blood bags to feed him. So was she just giving him her blood to awaken him before she eventually found a way through her jealousy?
That's about the right of it, yeah. It isn't just the blood bag though. In Moroha Mode, her HP drain and Paracelsus' backstory implies he's actively draining her of the blood in her body as she fights. Her whole gimmick back in 2003 was that she's a double edged sword, with her play cycling around a weak yet defensive base form, a powerful and heavy pressuring attack form thst drains HP passively and with each attack, and then landing one of a couple combos to switch back and restore most of the lost HP back. The blood packs are just so you can manually switch between the two without landing a combo, though it doesn't return much HP iirc
I preferably like the old version better but both are awesome. Movements more practical in the old one. Superform is off the chain cool in the old. Even the keys voice sounds cool❤. The new one is thick tho
I like the new transformation. Makes the key feel like an animated 20' animation, so alien to exist but recognizable just enough to set off all the uncanny Valley alarms, like something from Bendy or Henderson.
I love the flip of the script with the install. From Paracelsus turning into a menacing goat head and A.B.A on the verge of a panic attack to A.B.A barely able to hold her rage back while Paracelsus goes unstable and starts melting.
I always love hearing SMT Music used in stuff, and what a good way to use the feelings elicited by the destroyed Kiccigorgi village, also very nice comparison of A.B.A then and now, SMASH

@@sunnkyazawa I would definitely recommend it personally, SMT is one of my two favorite game franchises of all time(a very covered position only given to media that has saved or severely changed the course of and/or my outlook on life) and if you have an old 3DS or don't mind emulation I'd say IV is a pretty good place to start actually(most games plots aren't directly connected and the only one IV is sort of connected to sequel-wise is Strange Journey but that's just because of Demonica Armor making an appearance and Demiurge talking about stuff from SJ in a late game optional challenge bossfight) or even the new SMT V Vengeance coming out later this year, if you like demons, jrpgs, unique characters and deep reflections on morality and politics you'll love it! Yeah, a few years apart. She was very new to the world with the red hair. She was exploring the whole time, up to the point where her hair is now green (people theorize her hair is made from copper, and thus, oxidized).
I think either Ishiwatari or someone from Arc said that she was just experimenting with hair dyes, which is hilarious. They said they really liked the oxidation theory though

A.b.a's and paracelsus' relationship is one of my favorites, not because it's abusive, but because of how it advances, he controlled her, she's possessive towards him (also crazy), and then there's this like talk between the two of them where they talk about their relationship - it's multifaceted so youve gotta see it for yourself, it's kinda heartwarming. I don't understand the game but I feel bad for the key, if they relly are in love with each other. Why tug along too much with your key? It hurts him, they should kill together in harmony!
The key's name is Paracelsus, and he's not really "in love" with the girl, Aba. He respects her and cares about her as her friend and willingly goes along with her (not like he has a choice, he can't move on his own). But she was the one to declare them both husband and wife, and he reluctantly goes along with it. Aba knows she's hurting him and that thwir relationship isn't healthy. But when she tries to let him go, he explains that he'd actually rather they stay together as companions. Tho i don't know much about their story other than that-
Mostly, the chain is there because it's actually part of his body, Aba isn't very strong when Paracelsus isn't powered up, and he's is an oversized battle axe made of about four inches of an unknown metal and, therefore, can't move.
@@GlitchedRedthat kind of makes sense for the xx one but in strive she has him in as close to as a gimp suit as you could reasonably put on a key and is using a leash instead of the chain
@@mystrenula3911 It still applies in Strive, but since Paracelsus is starting to fall apart in their story mode, the "gimp suit" is likely just a sleeve to keep him from unraveling completely while powered up. If you have the time, care, and means, you maintain your tools to keep them from breaking.
