its easy to overlook how large Faust really is, you fought him while hes crouching.. so that means he tallr than Potemkin when Standing! What a Sasquatch Doctor!
I dont understand why anyone would fuck with faust in the 1st place, not only is this man easily towering over all the characters, but he has the abilities of a cartoon and can somewhat manipulate reality to his will
@@lojika1majik Is THAT what he's suffering from? He moves like he's terribly stiff, leaning on his scalpel for support at times...to say nothing of his blaring red eye.
This is such a great look into Faust's character. It shows both his skill as a doctor and his dedication towards helping others. Rushing straight towards the Japanese turned Gear as it was starting to explode in the dire hope of stopping it instead of using his doors to escape the blast radius...he didn't even pause to consider it. It's also great to see nearly all the characters working together. Even Slayer is getting his hands dirty for once, even if he isn't going all out. It's such a shame that he not only has been changed in some horrifying way, but he also has little to nothing to do with the story in Strive.
Tbh the story of Strive didn't really have a place for Faust and also Ram (May and the jellyfish pirates could've probably helped out when the White House flew into the sky since the MayShip could be near the same vicinity) to do anything prominent at all. I'd much rather to have an actual side story that explains what the fuck happened to Faust as well as a proper conclusion to his search for whoever was responsible for sending Zato than having him get shoved into the story for no reason only to do absolutely nothing. (Kinda like Potemkin tbh)
Im afraid to assume this. But what if, his worst trauma happened again, but this time for real, without anyone elses hand in it. If the first one made him a serial killer, imagine what would second one do.
@@dragonlex4 i dont think so because when he snapped from the first time as a serial killer (first game) he almost killed himself, holding back only because he wasnt the one actually responsable for it. If this happened again Faust would have killed himself imo
Man....to see Faust go from a bubbly caring doc trying to redeem himself, to the Faust in STRIVE is just...wow. This seemed like foreshadowing of wat he would eventually become in STRIVE. Makes me Think he became the way he did as a result of Treating May. Stabilizing her condition at the cost of his.
this could make sense but how.? bc i hate to break it down to ya but there are no explanations whatsoever in strive.. story mode or even the arcade.. he's just became like that..
@@MaoriGamerDood hell no, the conclusions people come up usually suck, fan theories are not replacement for actual storytelling, specially with such piece of work that is Faust.
@@jaimeantonioolaguezchirino5805 I won't disagree with that. I watched half the GGSTRIVE STORY last night. Ima watch the rest of it wen I get home. Then I'll see wer FAUST ends up. I'm liking it so far.
@@the9163 They won't kill him. They killed Zato (because his voice actor died) but he remained as "Eddy". They won't do anything harsh to Faust because he was, in some way or another, in every game.
I love his interaction with Chronus. He still has the Dr. Baldhead persona inside him. He wants to kill him, but instead he tries to be professional and reasonable for the sake of others.
Nah, he was pretty chill with Chronus. He just got annoyed at what he saw as needless dishonesty. He only really loses it near Zato-1. Even during the arcade fights, Faust snarls, "DIE!" at him. After performing his "This is Me?" instant kill, he remarks, "You haven't suffered enough" instead of his usual chipper requests to see the patient in a week or tells them that no insurance is necessary.
In XX, he cures Zappa, which might've caused the spirits to inhabit Faust instead which is why he's so spooky. However Xrd retconned that, but who knows if the Strive lore retcons the Xrd lore.
My personal theory is that he for some reason was killed and Cronus used Faust's own resurrection surgery to resurrect him (as they kinda became friends in the end of Xrd Rev and he owes Faust for making him go insane at first). But just like Zato-1 the resurrection isn't perfect but instead of losing his emotions Faust lost his sanity once more.
Looking back, what happened to Faust in Strive was a pretty logical way to continue his progression. He has been spending ages doing whatever he can to atone for his past. Effectively sacrificing himself to save someone who was similar to his lost patient is almost like a extreme finale for that arc. Especially since it lets us see that even when Faust becomes a husk of a person, he still tries to care for others. Next game he'll probably go through some form of recovery, but I feel like him saving Delilah was kind of the perfect way for him to finally prove that he's changed. Destroy himself to save another.
It's more of the opposite, actually. Ramlethal's words made him think about not just sacrificing himself in sake of others, but also to let himself be... alive rather than just a disposable tool to save other people. In Rev 2 he went trying to save the antimatter Gear even if that costed his life not only to help them, more of a form of pseudoaltruism (basically doing something apparently altruistic but with certain intention behind; in this case, trying to atone what he has done in the past), just as in Another Story he was willing to die to save Delilah. However, Ramlethal said "Do you wish to save that girl? Or to die a hero?", which basically translates to "Save her not because you feel the need of saving that girl once again and then continue hating on yourself because of your past, trying to separate who you once were, but do this because of who you truly are and what you truly care about." But yeah, 100% agree on everything else you wrote.
New GG fan here. Started to like Faust from a purely character design standpoint, but the deeper I dive into his lore and personality, the more I’m loving this character. Can’t wait to learn more
when i see faust i think of a monster, demon, or giant with a heart of gold he always does what's right despite his failures and even when faced with the shadows of his past instead of being overtaken by them he overcomes them a truly kind character. I know how scarey he looks in the newer games but i feel like even with how edgy or scary he looks now i still feel he's the gently soul trapped in the body of a boogey man and will always do what is right in the end.
It's not Bedman he's afraid of exactly. He doesn't want Johnny, Faust, and Chipp to try and attack Bedman because he knows there is just no chance of them winning. He later seeks Bedman out himself for revenge and the chance to fight an opponent that can both take and deal a great deal of damage.
If you want to learn, the PCP lecture is a good starting point, but you better love long videos ^^ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q6lXDUj1ilk.html
I mean, his entire character is basically a stand user so- A fun fact, before voicing DIO, his VA voiced an antagonist in GX who used monsters based on the Tarot, where The World was one of his more threatening monsters, that could skip an opponent's turn, effectively stopping time for you to go again. This is even funnier to me because basically the entirety of YuGiOh was inspired from the D'arby the Gambler Arc.
I love the plot in this.. people are increasing in temperature and even Faust don't know why.. time is in the utmost importance! A fever that can't be cured!
If I was talking to a dude, who is METER taller than me and can stomp on the ground so hard the stone breaks, I would sh💀t my pants if he started to get annoyed
Watching this just because while I don't like Faust gameplay wise, his story is damn phenomenal and I'll be damned if I don't say Faust Did Nothing Wrong. I'm glad he manages to forgive himself.
Faust at the start of his arc: “I need revenge for the loss of my patient, and the possibility of curing innocent people in the process.” Faust in the middle of his arc: “Why is everything a conspiracy?” Faust at the end of his arc: “My friends are with me, but the Japanese are turning into Gears.”
He was Zato beforehand. It probably looked good on his resume to have played a smug blonde man that struck poses as his spirit friend did all the work.
Hmmmmm so it seems that some sort of conspiracy was going on. But since Faust couldn't save the last one he began his descent back into Dr. Baldhead to a degree?
Because he couldn't save the girl he went mad, yes, and starting killing everyone. At the end of GG, the girl voice appears and tells him that it was not his fault that she died
The last one...you mean the gear? There is no saving them. That's not what he was trying to do. Faust was trying to prevent their explosion. There's another cutscene in the game that doesn't have Faust in it, so it wasn't included here. It shows the size of the explosion when the Gear goes off and it was devastating. Had Faust not injected the two he had, their explosion would have killed countless people. It's also why Slayer felt the need to kick the last one so high up.
I don't think he'd take this one so hard. It's not like he was operating this time. He could only move so fast. He even knew he couldn't make it when he started running.
It's unlikely they can be saved at all. Faust hasn't found a way to turn a Gear into a human (and he most likely tried). The injections weren't meant to save them but to allow people to evacuate without getting caught in a massive explosion.
I... Don't think that was a reference. Pretty sure he was just using the actual line. If it were a reference, there'd be WAY more emotion in his voice for that line.
