Guinea Pigs Hair vs Hairless 

I have a skinny pig and she is such a lovely big ball. She simply adores being cuddled in a warm blanket. What I noticed is that she is more social and acts like Tiny dog most of the time, not like my previous haired piggies. She is also a full-roam piggie and only Hops into cage when she wants food and ofc pee poo time (I didn't even train her to do so, guess she likes her blanket spot nice and tidy). I love her so much, she is truly adorable, small hippo. Thank you Saskia for running this channel. I've learned a lot through your videos and it's really heartwarming to see someone who shares your love for guinea pigs and educates people 🤎

My boys are skinny's, and I absolutely adore them. They are definitely more high-maintenance but worth it. 🧡🧡🧡

I have a herd of 5 naked ladies (rescues)...each an individual with a definite personality. We can watch them interact for hours! We have them in the warmest room and also have a pet heating pad under where they sleep (each in their own fleece cozy. I sweep the beans daily to tidy up and switch out their cage fleece liners every third day. You get in a routine and it’s not hard at all. I’ve had hairy pigs as well and don’t have a preference but the skinnies are definitely unique. Easy to keep nails clipped and I bathe with coconut oil (which makes them shiny and sweet). ❤️

Breaks my heart that the skinny pigs are looked over. All they need is a cute little sweater.

We have 1 skinny and 3 furry pigs all housed together. Our skinny Mochi is a lot friendlier and more agile than our other pigs. She will climb on your shoulder when you are holding her so we have to be careful and she is ALWAYS eating though she is still kind of small. I think she is burning the calories faster than the others to keep herself warm- and she is warm! Like a fresh baked muffin :D

It's good to see Podrick I was wondering how he is doing. Thanks for having Podrick on here. If I had a skinny I probably wouldn't have so much produce wasted beings how they eat a lot. Cleaning the cage is no problem for me 🐹🐹

Skinny pigs are adorable. It's a shame that Hippo and Podrick don't get along. Saskia is so sweet, loving, and caring with all of the piggies at LAGPR. I enjoy watching the Saturday livestreams as guinea pigs are just interesting.

I absolutely love at 2:44 where Saskia just looks at Hippo and says she loves him. I do the same thing to my skinny pig gorl Jupiter and she makes little wheeks at me. She's very social and will always come for treats.

Iv just got 2 boy skinny’s and they defo high maintenance compared to the hairy ones. Diet, skin care, making sure nails are short and filed, one has sticking up ears so I have to check nothing Is inside as Iv noticed 2 things 🙈 checking their skin as I noticed marks so Iv done coconut oil to help heal it. I’m now doing your taming videos as mine are baby’s and skittish, even tho they are harder work totally worth it love them so much. Iv had hairy piggy’s and the care for them to skinny’s is massive difference for sure. Your tips are amazing and helping so much thank you

I was boarding two hairless males and my son said, they sure do have funny looking tails! I was like, those aren’t their tails 😂 We have only females, so he wasn’t used to the “jewels” being so prominently displayed :)

I am absolutely in love with Skinny pigs. I will not take on any more piggies if not skinny pigs. Love my haired babies but skinnies have become my absolute obsession. ♡♡♡

Podrick and Hippo!!! I tried very hard to convince Mom to let one of these guys or Rorick come with Solvang to us! She no because Podrick is yours and she thought a trip across the country in December would be too hard on a skinny. How is Rorick? Have not seen him recently?

Is Podrick an Abyruvian mix? My skinnies DEMOLISH food. Hay and pellets especially. They get full bowls of pellets three times a day. They need a heat lamp here. They get extra blankets and I clean them daily. All 10 are permanent fosters because the shelter doesn’t want to try to find people who will take proper care of them.

I’ve got my own herd (8). Got 3 hairless and lucky me, each one bonded with one of my hairy boys. So they enjoy huddling with the haired ones for extra warmth. I hate the fact that ppl return these poor little guys. Like what were u expecting, an easy pet?!

Do the hairless pigs tend to bite the heating cords,

i have a question, theres a few animals without hair that are actually considered inhumane and cruel to breed because of all the difficulties and how uncomfortable they are all the time (for instance the hairless syrian hamster, cant believe people still breed these guys) are skinny pigs the same way? is it inhumane and cruel for people (ethically or not) to breed skinny pigs?

Great video! I’ve got eight girls, three are skinnies. I’ve always told people they eat far more. My poor skinny ladies - at night, when all of my fuzzy girls are sleeping, my three hairless girls are half-asleep in zombie mode crouched down in the hay boxes munching. My poor daphne has chronic diarrhea… we’ve been to specialty vets, run diagnostics, and toyed with different medical treatments and diets to no avail. She’s happy and healthy otherwise! Her vet finally chocked it up to bad genetics. Interestingly, the gal that surrendered her found me online 1.5 years later and asked if I would like her biological twin and her other completely hairless girl (not even fur tufts on feet and nose!) and I couldn’t say no. Thankfully, her bio twin does not have tummy issues. I love ALL of my girls so much. One upside about them - yes, lots of extra poop to clean, but they don’t leave fur on the fleece to get off. 😂

i would need a hairless pig or cat but i have 2 hair piggies im allergic to animal hair not the hair but the stuff they clean it with i can only spend 3 or 4 hours with them in outside cage time but when they are in cage its fine

I have 2 skinnies and a furry potato. I think my newest skinny has ringworm. I haven't introduced her to the other 2 yet as I was waiting for their 2x6 to come in. Is treatment for that the same in skinnies? Should I wait to introduce? I'm worried if I don't do it soon it will be harder, plus she will be happier being part of the herd. Do I have to worry about her ( or the others) licking the cream off? I'm just so lost there isn't really much info on this for the skinnies 😵‍💫

Thanks for educating us. I'm currently trying to decide if my next piggie will be hairless. I'll consider this. I already clean poops daily, fill my babies cage with fleece blankets and use a heat lamp for my abesynian so I'm already set up to take care of a skinny pigs needs. I am worried about increased risk of illness though. I've heard that skinny pigs have more health problems. Is that true? 🤔
