It sounds really nice to be a passive bass I heard, especially something with 24 frets instead of 20 frets.

I have only had one bass EVER in my life.. and I just started getting back into the bass but while I love my old Yamaha I keep looking at new basses to get that urge to play again. And this one is grabbing my eye.

was curious about this series..It sounds quite good for a so called 'beginner' bass..I was originally considering a Legend to back up my NS2A (my main girl for 20 years), but I may take a closer boo at the Performer series..plus the white is what I am after :)

Colin Boonstra it was one of the Fender Rumble series amps. I believe it was the 100 watt version

I love my 5 string Legend bass that I got 12 years ago and after hearing this review I think I will see if the “GOOD WIFE” would let me get the white 4string Performer!!!

How does the Spector compare to the Ibanez 300e? Thanks.
@guitarczar9624
@guitarczar9624 4 года назад
The Ibanez has humbuckers with coil tap and an active 3-band EQ while the Spector is passive with a P and J pickup. The Ibanez has a thinner, smaller neck compared to the rounder, larger neck of the Spector. They are in a similar quality range, so it really comes down to tonal and playing preference. The best thing would be to stop by and play each one. We have them in stock and would love to let you demo them.

IF you want an entry level bass that feels like a guitar, then Ibanez is what you want. If you are looking for an entry level bass guitar and not a guitar built with 4 strings, then the Spector is your choice. Ibanez makes great guitars and they are legendary for that. Ibanez manufactures lots and lots of basses and that is pretty much about it. Spector is a legendary bass company who makes far less quantity of basses than Ibanez. Spector does make guitars as well, however, they don't produce too many of them.

I've been playing 37 years. I have both the 4 and 5 string Performer bass. I absolutely love them, they sound incredible and feel great to play.

@@crazeyjoe I'm a huge Spector fan (have 3 of the Czech made Euro basses) and it is a legendary bass company. However, Ibanez have also been building basses for as long as Spector has, possibly longer. Their Musician model is a classic from the 70s and early 80s. Their Soundgear line has been around since 1987 and is still sold today. Their SRs do have skinny necks and this may be an issue for some, but they make some high quality instruments as well. For the price, it's hard to beat them where with Spector you're paying quite a bit more (and still getting your money's worth). This is for the higher end stuff. For the lower end like this Performer, you can't go wrong with either Ibanez or Spector with the caveat that yes, the Ibanez has a skinny neck (which is great for guitarists transitioning to bass, players with smaller hands, or those that like that type of neck).
