That's quite interesting! I've got a Manson XY Pad as well (got it 2 month ago :D) and it's a beast. I put the midi out to an audio/midi interface, all of this is directly sent to Amplitube 4, and it makes the XY pad very versatile as I can then use it to whatever I want. For example, to increase/decrease fuzz on one axis, and as a whammy on the other axis,... It's really limitless, I only regret the button below the midi pad doesn't send another cc# which would not be associated with the fact that the screen is touched or not.
