Love you finding Allen! My wife went to school with him. Used to see him play in coffee shops. He's also an amazingly wonderful human being. He's kind, thoughtful and crazy humble about his talents. He's also very aware of how important his band and backing vocalists are. He loves and treats them so well. Always introduces them live and gives em a shout out. Also, during the pandemic he live streamed allllll the time, selling merch, signed guitars etc. All the proceeds went to his bandmates/team. He always pointed out that while he gets some money from albums and streams, they make a bulk of their money on tour. So he wanted to do all he could for his band mates. Legend.
I’ve been a huge fan of Allen Stone for a long time. He’s absolutely blessed. He’s able to flip songs into many many variations. But he doesn’t need the big band to absolutely demolish. I saw him live, him his guitar and two background signers. He also played the piano and he is the real deal. Check out his newest video of this tune. Just him and a piano.
My wife went to school with him. She used to watch him in coffee shops. He is also a sweet, amazing, and kind-hearted individual. Like that smile on his face? During this song? It's genuine. A wonderful human being through and through.
Oh my God how I needed this right now. After spending another Christmas alone and spilling my heart on Facebook about how I don't really need to be here anymore, I get hit with this. I already knew Allen, but to hear him cover Bob? That should be illegal, right? Sometimes you forget what triggers your heart. Life gets too crunchy, and you need something smooth and creamy to just melt all over your soul.
I can't believe you never heard of Allen Stone! He's such hidden gem and genuine talent. I saw him live two days ago and he is such a unique gift and voice for us all to enjoy. Please check out "Taste of You" featuring English soul singer Jaime Lidell. The live studio version is a masterpiece. Every musician is so special.
This is his band. He invited the choir to join them. Check out his cover of Goytes “Somebody That I Used to Know”. Drum part is sick. The official video version.
I keep watching you watch Allen. I get hysterical every time. Don't know a dang thang about playing music but I know about listening to Allen. Watching you get so excited makes me so happy. Thanks.
I know I'm late to this video's party but just saw him live a few weeks back and it was the best show I've ever seen. This man is uber talented and always surrounded by equally great musicians. A delight. Love your content Michael!
I was blessed with my dads love of black music, growing up in the 60's. My dad would play Sam Cook the Platters and many others. To this day my greatest joy is listening to soul, funk, groove and R&B. Allen Stone was introduced to me last summer and I'm 61 now enjoying this young uber talented Man. It gives me hope for future generations yjat real music is going to survive.
Heck yeah! Thanks for breaking this down for me and I’m glad you geeked out on it the same as I did. I was shocked to see your email come through since it was the first video I posted to the page.
Now this is actually a reaction video - love watching you get blown away by someone I’ve heard a few times and felt the same about, but without your musical knowledge. Allen Stone is the damned man :) All of his stuff is excellent. Literally. Keep doing you :)
Yasssss! Allen is a soulful musical BEAST! All of his work is great, but I think you will particularly love his performance of “Unaware” live at KEXP, and his cover of “Sara Smile” with Teddy Swims. “Give You Blue” is also great 😌
I don’t comment a lot but I’ve got a man crush on Allen’s music. I love when you just fold your hands on top of your axe and just melt into the music. Happy New Year MP.
Michael - The opportunity before you is something your fans will sincerely treasure… That being your introduction to Allen Stone. I’m so happy for you… 🤗
Man, your reaction to Allen is so flattering! Despite the fact that I’ve only got a small part...to listen, watch and adore the genius that you just witnessed, I feel flattered and justified even more than before in the way this guy and his band makes me feel! I’ll ride your reaction rail a while, at my senior age, that could be a day or the rest of my life. Super great reaction and critique of someone supremely gifted, talented and wonderful! Pea Sout.
Long story short, about 8 years ago my wife and I went to a show in Atlanta to watch one of our favorite bands - now defunct (Bad Rabbits) open for Allen Stone, we never heard of him. When Bad Rabbits finished their set we went to the bar to get drinks, and ran into the band, hung out with them and bought them shots. As Allen was starting his set the members of Bad Rabbits insisted that we go check him out. We didn’t want to stop hanging out with the band we came to see, but had to hear them out on their recommendation. I wish i had taken a selfie when I saw what was coming from the stage! We’ve been super fans since!
I saw Allen back in 2017 not long after I first heard about him. Holy shit, it was the most fun concert Ive ever been to. The way he has with his sound and how funny and entertaining he is, just blew me away. He would leave you in awe and then make you cry laughing moments later. So special dude.
Definitely check out his latest album! His big song Sunny Days is a hit!! He grew up and still lives just a few towns over from me here in the Pacific North West and his voice will seriously blow you away!
Allen Stone is from my neck of the woods, Eastern Washington. The man is soulful! I've had the privilege to hear him and his band a few times. You need to check out some of his original material. He is a great song writer! Thanks for doing what you do.
Allen is on another level for sure and always has top notch musicians with him. I first discovered him through his tune “unaware” the live in his mother’s living room version. Look it up immediately! So friggin good.
I love Allen Stone! In addition to being incredibly talented, he’s also just a super nice guy. My favorite song from him is “Naturally”, and it really speaks to the kind of person he is. He spreads so much positivity, it really makes him a joy to watch. He also does a really funny and funky version of Tyrone” from Erykah Badu that I highly recommend!
This is Allen's own interpretation of the Bob Marley classic. He made it his own. Not only is he a great vocal talent he is a great music writer... He grew up in my area so I try to score tickets when he performs at home. He loves to jam with his band at his Mom's house in her living room. The best blues musicians in the industry love to jam with him. If you ever get the chance to see him live do not miss your chance because in time he will be a legend... ❤ To us he already is...
Allen stone is a BEAST tiny concert is great, Ted talk is fire, his covers are good too (sex and candy), but his Taylor guitar session of “the bed I made” is my fav.
@@IBODEGAI too true. This is when you know when someone has the juice when the live performances are better than the album versions. I listened to the album and then was like I’ll just fast forward the Ted talk.
@@BrentLane1 I did see somethings that led to the reason behind why he doesn’t, but I wasn’t there for the whole thing so I dont want to feed into speculation.
Just a masterpiece all around. The band, the chorus, Stone. What an amazing bunch. One of my favorite Stone performances of all time. I watch it several times a year Allen stone is a vocal monster and a brilliant song writer. He’s going to be an all time great if he gets to continue making music for a few more decades. He writes songs like Stevie wonder. Not saying he’s the next stevie, but if you go through the discography, I think you’ll understand what I mean on a pretty decent list of songs
Allen is the man!! you should check out his live on Vevo version of Give you Blue, it will blow you away vocally, just him and a guitar and two background singers, that are husband and wife. They won a Allen Stone "Karaoke Challenge" so he picked them to do background for him on a few songs. The man is legit!!
I'm not going to check for other posts if they say the same thing, but Allen Stone has one of the greatest singing voices of all time. I've seen him live twice where he was an opener for another band. His performance doesn't disappoint.
I LOVED your reaction to this song. No offense intended but watching you have an eargasm had me just as hype as when I heard it the first time. I enjoyed you enjoying the ride. It was epic. Lol!!! Keep Allen in my EarPods all the time and now you know why!
Great to see you get to some Allen Stone, dudes got pipes but can also write a tune too. Check out some of his originals, for example, Bed I Made acoustic version or Sleep (first song I heard from him).
Lloyd Speigel MUST happen at some point the man is a certified MONSTER acoustic blues guitar player out of Australia. Anyone here should check him out, think, the billy strings of the blues world
