Was going to type the same thing. I bought one of Josh's album, really great song writing. The musical talent is through the roof. His buddy has a good voice too.
Josh has an entire music ecosystem. He is kind of the leader of the pack. What I love about him is that he is happy to sit back and make his friends look good. And what fabulous harmonies on this. And like Flo Gure below pleasantly surprised to see you doing a reaction video to their music.
To be fair, Josh is quite talented, but Carson is certainly no slouch. If you haven't already, go check out some of his solo stuff on his channel. It's really excellent! Cheers!
Josh was the "early bloomer" for guitar prowess, but I would say he has been chasing Carson with respect to lyrics for years. The cool thing is that now Josh is now writing great lyrics, and if you watch Carson's solo work - he is confident in showing his flatpicking chops. And then when you look at Carson and Reina del Cid's video production skills, they have also learned or been motivated to catch Josh (who was always the video production master). They have all been raising their game during Covid.
Oh my goodness. Two of my worlds are colliding. Never expected you to react to Josh & Carson. Absolutely love them and there are soo many more videos for you to discover!
I had always wanted to learn how to play guitar and at 46 thought it was too late. Then I watched Josh Turner play Graceland . A video he put out six years ago, and I subscribed to his channel. I have a lot of guitar heroes but that video made me think " I can't die without learning to do that" Now I can, not perfect yet but I am having a blast. He was my biggest influence to pick up the guitar.
That’s the video that made me discover him too and made me think picking up the guitar again to learn challenging songs was within the realm of possibility!
I know its been 11 months since you posted but hopefully your still trying to play. Just know 10 1/2 years ago at 44 i picked up the guitar and haven’t let it go,You can do it!!
@@Guitargate Carson's little brother Skylar might even have better vocals. Check out their cover of Up On Cripple Creek. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OLtOKOD0mUY.html
Absolutely this. I've been listening to Josh do stuff for years now on his original channel name and even now...that song is one of my favorite covers he's done, and the humor of the housekeeping knocking on the door is amusing.
These guys are honestly so good! Their covers are incredible, but their originals are just as good if not BETTER! Go check out The Levee, The Ballad of John McRae and especially Angelina!!!
Josh is great. I specifically enjoy his covers of "Stuck in the Middle with You" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yzu8lWPVWpg.html and "Operator" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1oP2X0yLfHY.html
I'm not musically inclined at all, but it is so entertaining to watch a musician appreciating another musician (two in this case). Just seeing the joy on your face as you react to the music makes me feel more alive and in touch with what matters on this rock spinning through space.
Michael! You _gotta_ review _anything_ that Toni Lindgren plays. She's one of the best guitarists out there now, female or male. Here's a link to one of her originals (played on a gorgeous guitar handmade just for her) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WiUpvhU2kXU.html Plus, she's a total sweetie-pie!
In SF at @ "Neck of the Woods " ? It was a great show. My hope is that when the world returns to normal, they play 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass". In fact, I'll work out the bill for one of the stages myself. 1. Solo Acoustic - Skylar McKee, 2. Reina del Cid and Tony, 3. AJ Lee & Blue Summit , 4. The Other Favorites 5. Molly Tuttle, 6. Everyone on stage for a group encore. I can dream ...
Yes, please have Josh and Carson on the channel!! Two of my favorites for sure. There is almost nothing that they (and all of their friends) don’t do with excellence, as well as some fun thrown in along the way, which is much appreciated these days!
I just want to thank you again for doing these videos. I love the way you go about teaching the theory, but the best part is when you capture the emotions of these songs. The songs are enjoyable, the lessons are enjoyable, and most of all you, sir, are a joy to watch. This channel has reignited my passion for music and playing music. I lost it for awhile and I missed it. You gave me music back and I thank you so much. I laugh and cry a lot of times in the same video. I always feel better than I did before I watched. I wish I had a guitar teacher like you when I was starting out. Sorry, for the long comment, but I just had to thank you again. You should have a million subs easy. Keep up the great work, you are appreciated!!
Great to see so many people like and know these guys, they're w/Reina del Cid and The Other Favorites, includes Toni Lindgren,a stage full of young talent having fun playing great music! movin' on over to the barn,Michael, exciting.
Big fan of these guys. You should check out Josh Turners cover of My Baby Just Cares For Me - he plays Nina Simones piano solo on guitar!! Fantastic stuff 👍
I agree with some comments below, since this is a guitar teacher reacts channel you must do josh's cover of "still crazy after all these years" one of the greatest videos on youtube
You should also look at something by Reina del Cid...Toni has some spectacular guitar work and seeing them play with The Other Favourites made for one the best evenings of live music I have seen!
These two guys have other great stuff, some of which is original and no less inspiring than their covers. The combination of your reactions and Guitar Gate lessons equal top tier, online instruction, thanks Michael.
Discovered Josh and Carson then Reina and Tony shortly after been big fan of them all ever since. Great musicians who we may never have had a chance to enjoy if not for social media..... that is what it is supposed to be for!
Hey Michael! I don’t know how I haven’t discovered your gem of a channel until now cos this is awesome! I feel like we’re just having a chat over coffee and vibing about great music and awesome guitar. Keep it up, I’ll keep watching ;)
YES! Been waiting for you to do a video on Josh and Carson for a while now! So glad you've been tuning in to them, the world deserves to know more of them. Hope you've seen either 1) their live performance of Angelina, or 2) Carson's live version of Flower In The City. Much love, Michael!
Ive seen those two several times and always thought they were good, now I realise they are REALLY good. But, the Big thing I learned, I should go back to listen to Bruce. Great video! Really enjoyed it
I love watching you react to these type of songs! just as a fan of music and a frustrated wanna be musician. My son taught himself to play bass about three years ago, and now he wants to understand theory and song structure a little better-your channel is the perfect vehicle for us to have that conversation-and learn some new tunes. Thank you!
I’ve been following Josh Turner for quite a few years now. He is a fantastic guitar player and and good singer. Check out his cover of Jim Crowe’s “Operator”.
I discovered Josh & company a few months ago. What talent, they must have 100's of videos out there and every one is gold! Yes I agree, "the best of the best on youtube" what more can be said!
These guys are truly amazing, and I'm a huge Springsteen fan. I do a slow and sad cover of Dancing in the Dark as well as Tougher Than the Rest in my sets. Such an incredible songwriter!
"Please drop links in the comments," you say. Okay. How about a reaction to Josh Turner and Allison Young doing Crazy (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-An-PQEAxsF8.html), and Josh soloing on Bruce Cockburn's King Kong Goes to Tallahassee, which for some reason he calls Acoustic Blues in D (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7sZp0XzHNJ8.html). Thanks, this was an excellent reaction.
I've been watching Josh play guitar on YT since he was 14? Used to make covers in his college dorm room with talented female singers. Carson and Josh tour a lot with Reina Del Cid and Tony Lundgrin(sp). I first learned about live stream music from watching Reina and Tony do a Sunday morning show every week. So I'm forever thankful for her showing me about this great music platform. Tony is a killer guitar player as well. Thanks, Micheal.
As you already did reaction video of Tool - Pneuma can you do Invincible or 7empest as well ? ☺️ 2nd request old favourite from Candyrat Records Antoine Dufour - Spiritual Groove m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uNw9YaXemlM.html
i'm a wicked big fan of these guys, and when i saw them live in nov 2019 in westerly rhode island, i was blown away by how good, or some might even say better, they are live. would love to see more of them on the channel!
