WOW!!!! PLEASE dissect more KISS songs. I'm a 55 year old somewhat intermediate guitarist and I absolutely love what I have discovered. You are pulling the curtain back from one of my ALL TIME favorite bands. ((if you could only have seen my bedroom in the 70's, wall to wall Kiss posters)) THANK YOU for this!

I’ve seen KISS more times than I can count. Best time was standing behind Gene’s stacks with his bass tech during the Hot in the Shade show. Until you’ve been where the working guys hang out during a concert, you really can’t appreciate just how much work goes into the best shows. 🤘😎🤘

Ace was and still is a class of it's own. He invented that style of playing. Tommy Thayer is hired to mimic that and he does it well. Eric on the other hand is not a stand in for Peter Criss or even the late Eric Carr. Both Carr and Singer outperform Peter in every aspect. And I've seen em all play live.

Liked this to make him see the comment! It is common for non KISS ARMY to not know the current lineup! I think he needs to do something from the late 70's/early 80's. and it just erks me that he is not right with any of the musicians he mentions for the most part. Peter nor Ace are even involved with this so he is giving credit to the wrong people. And I also find It interesting he keeps saying "larger than life" which is the name of a song from the original crew!

Hi Michael, Awesome channel and thank you for such insight into not only the notes, scales, the technique and mojo that make songs great!! I grew up in the 70's listening to Kiss and they were idols! I started on drums and wanted that deep drum sound. Tone is everything... Then I moved to guitar and now in my mid 50's the simplicity of Kiss is fantastic and fun to play. The Peter Criss drum sound is hugely heavy on PA power and compression to get that sound, because he's barely hitting the drums. Never mind how... Kiss is a phenomena in their own right. I'll look forward to more rockin reactions

I started my Kiss journey as a 5 year old kid in 1980 , I am a Aussie and in 1980 they were the biggest thing since The Beatles in Australia. I have heard the term " Gimmick band " talked about when it comes to Kiss and all I can say is if you think they are a " Gimmick" then you simply have not listened to them. I put them up with Zeppelin, Sabbath, AC/DC etc .....when it comes to classic Rock , you can pick any album from 74 to I would say 83 and they are all awesome! And I am sure people have already commented but Ace and Peter haven't been in the band for 20 year's, that's Tommy and Eric and the reason SO many old fans gave up on seeing them live , the fact they wear the make up of the OG legends pisses off A LOT of fans. For those who are curious checkout the album's Rock N Roll over, Hotter then Hell, The Debut self tilted, Dynasty and Creatures of the night.

Love or Hate Kiss, the list of some great musicians that were inspired to pick up an instrument for the first time because of Kiss is very long! Dimebag, Dave Grohl, Marty Friedman, Alex Skolnick are first to come to mind. The spectacle and marketing over shadowed some of the raw talent overall imo. Very inspired by the Beatles, every member could pull of lead vocals, and had a "hit" or fan favorite? How many bands do this anymore?

Listen to Makin' Love for some speed, Love Her All I Can for some intricate fingering, and/or 100,000 Years for some real oddness (Kulick apparently hated playing that song for the leads that were oddly difficult), and of course one of the nastiest leads ever, Strange Ways
