The bass guitarist is Marko Hietala, often thought of as the godfather of metal in Finland. He was active in metal before he joined Nightwish and remains active to this day. He was with Nightwish for almost 20 years and left a few years back. He has also been involved in numerous other projects, including his own band "Tarot." During the Floor and Marko era, Nightwish had the good fortune to have two absolutely top tier singers in their band. You will see him featured, and even take the lead, in many of the Nightwish songs.

Marko's voice is no suprise to Nightwish fan's...... He's an amazing singer in his own right and featured in many Nightwish performances for nearly 2 decades.

" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000. The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.

An excellent reaction. An excellent technical breakdown of the song. The great thing about Nightwish is that there are no egos, everybody gets their chance to shine. As a guitarist I’m sure you would appreciate Romanticide from the same concert where Emppu gets his chance to shine with an awesome solo.

I was at a solo concert of Floor Jansen last night. I can tell you one thing……being at a life concert of hers I realise she’s even better than how she comes across on screen. She was absolutely fantastic, almost 2 hours of energy and a real powerhouse.

Whatever guard you have up, when Floor's voice comes in she cut's thru it like a fresh sharpened butcher knife and get's you right into your soul and while your bleeding out you feel satisfied.

Floor and Marko pull off some insane harmonies in some songs. You just got a little taste here. It's crazy how you musicians can just pull out the guitar track from a song by ear and highlight it. That's expertise.

About Finnish guitarists: I think you should check out Teemu Mäntysaari who was hired as permanent member of Megadeth. He also performs with Wintersun if he can fit the schedules and for that, you probably want to check live rehersal for songs "Time" or "Sons of Winter and Stars". Also Marko the bass player has a fantastic voice. He sang several antiphons with Floor but in at least three songs he took over the lead: High Hopes (a tribute to Pink Floyd, 2005), The Islander (Tampere 2015) and While your lips are still red (Wembley 2015). I can highly recommend all three to you.

Un coucou de l'armée NIGHTWISH de France, avec un peu de retard ( beaucoup ) , très bonne réaction et analyse à l'écoute du plus grand groupe du monde pour ma part. pour la seconde fois vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin. Je vous souhaite de bons floorgasmes et continuez vos réactions nous serons toujours derrière vous pour vous soutenir pour notre groupe...... Encore plus d'écoutes s'il vous plait...... Merci. Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Après avoir écouté la 13ème chanson du set ( Ghost Love Score ), puis entendu la 5ème ( Ever Dream ) essayez une petite histoire avec Storytime, excellent rock dont le refrain reste longtemps en tête ou alors du plus lourd avec Ghost River pour entendre le mélange magnifique des voix de Floor avec Marko ou encore plus lourd avec Romanticide..... Et je pense que notre ami Gabriel Bardac devait arriver sous peu, ou être déjà passé ( Un grand MERCI à Gabriel d'avoir repris le flambeau de notre regrettée Anne ) cliquez sur son nom et allez sur communauté, vous pourrez suivre sa liste en toute confiance avec les meilleurs mixages à la bonne vitesse et avec le meilleur audio mais ce n'est pas une obligation, juste un sage conseil pour entendre une petite partie du meilleur du groupe. I am going to stray from my usual recommendation for someone just seeing Nightwish. My usual suggestions of Song of Myself from this show and 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley 2015 are still valid for you, but in your case I recommend: Ghost River from this show - Emppu's guitar part elicited a 2-part video just on the guitar from Stratele Studios and I think you might find a lot in it too. Not to mention Marco singing. I would also recommend for you Stargazers from Wembley 2015 or Tampere 2015. Emppu (the guitarist) particularly likes Stargazers BTW, when you are a player of Emppu's abilities, I don't think there is a "right" and a "wrong" way to play. He uses whatever technique works for the particular song for what he wants to achieve and as he has no tone controls on his ESO-EV1, he may do things you are not expecting. Plus, he is the joker in the band so he's often fooling around.

If you want to hear Marko in a spectacular lead vocal role with Nightwish, tune into their tribute to Hight Hopes. For me it's mind boggling. BTW, Everdream was the first NW song I ever heard. I was, literally, WTF?? I didn't have a slot to tuck it into. This was new and with extreme talent.

Floors brilliant vocals are effortless due to her breathing and mouth control, she is one of the best vocalist in the word can sing any genre brilliantly. Marko a great singer but Floor is in a different universe compared to Marko who by the way was in the band from 2002 Floor never joined the band until 2013, so what surprise are you talking about ?????????? The song was written in May 2002

If there was ever a bavnd or two band that might actually bring the world together would be nightwish and sabaton. Both have followings that reach deep and sturdy. Nightwish as you are learing, but floor's husband also plays in a symphonic metal sabaton That is amazing too. Highly suggest looking into then too.
