Pally had 13 or 14 globes for the longest time, thinking his quest was already done. I was yelling at my monitor, "PICK UP THE GLOBE, PALLY! FOR THE LOVE GOD!" :D You crack me up, buds.
2m 27s between 13 and 15 globes:- it’s also less that it’s a super long time (I wouldn’t have noticed if I’d not seen this comment) but he kills three minion waves and just walks away from the globes, one of which he could have grabbed without risk, one of which was absolutely the right call not to get and one he got skittish on because he didn’t have enemy map visibility, and is absolutely arguable. But it’s still a very Pally thing to do, but then playing and commentating is hard, yo! It just really manifests on Pally whenever he takes a globe quest and says something like ‘I’m really going to work on this quest this match’ :-)
Yeah he always does shit like this. Aims skill shots like crap, smashes the dragon knight into the whole team without attempting to dodge skill shots, doesn't finish quests. Frustrating but probably makes us sweats play better so we don't trigger ourselves.
that video was a blast! and that MLG Hammer was fun to watch. they were so calm in the early game, going to 1 HP and kept blasting away with confidence.
Played a lot of Gul'dan in my day, 2 big tips I would give: 1) stop using corruption on waves - it's your big ticket damage ability that you need for fights when they come up. Your ability to apply immediate high damage pressure during engages is not worth an the three extra seconds you wait for another 2 Q's on that wave (as opposed to corruption's 14 second CD). 2) you can empower your ultimate with lifetap AFTER you cast it. Spellpower doesn't snapshot anymore, it updates in real time. So instead of having to life tap, potentially re-position and then cast your ultimate, you can ultimate and guarantee the rest of it is empowered by life tapping immediately after.
14:27 Did you notice that? That was the second time, in that game, Pally didn't even notice, that the Ult is so bad, you can cancel it, right before you even start channeling(by pressing R twice, wtf Blizzard). I actually love that ult since it was changed but it got the Falstad epic mount oopsie treatment... so sad
he did notice Rain of Destruction didn't go off the first time, he hovers his cursor over the ult, he probably didn't know it was because he taped R twice cancelling before it goes off, since he doesn't pick this ult often he doesn't know that while you no longer channel it for its whole duration, you still have to channel for a bit to get it started up, can't really blame him since Horrify is so much better
There's a lot to be said for Demonic Circle at 20. Place it far up near their core, when they chase you towards yours you just hit 1 and now you're sieging their core and everyone has to back buying time for your team
Hey @MFPallytime huge fan for years, thank you for all the wonderful content! A request though, can you please let me / another audio engineer tune your compressor?? Hearing your voice completely disappear every time shout, while amusing, is also so frustrating! Would love to help you out!
Guldan is my dude. I always like RoD ult to attack when opposition is defending a pretty intact base. Drop it in the middle with full buildings and defenders and it does a ton of damage. Its kinda not great for team fighting except to get the battle to move, but when they cant leave cuz they need to hold a spot it can be nuts.
I would suggest looking at a video like this for build/general gameplay loop for the character you want to try then practice with a game or two vs ai then once you’re confident go into quick match, some toxic people but most are generally welcoming. I started on and off with mainly Leo myself and have been slowly expanding, I personally enjoy playing every now and then. Also the hots discord has many people ready to help with questions and advice
Each build has its niche. I honestly love doing corruption build, particularly against a hammer or a healer with bad aoe healing. You can basically guarantee 2 corruption hits on a sieged hammer with good ability placement, and that usually easily becomes 3 by the time they react, so at 16 you can pretty much one shot them. On maps like dragon shire or areas where there are common fights in chokes, corruption can annihilate teams when it boomerangs with the bonus damage
I honestly love you video's, but whenever you pick a quest that requires globe pick ups my OCD get's triggered when you miss them or (to me) obvious opportunity's.
That Hammer had a weird build, Ambush (1) and Graduating Range (7) tends to not work well together. Ambush (1) works better with Hover Siege Mode (7) and Graduating Range (7) pairs a lot better with Advanced Artillery (1). Entrenched (13) is also not great, as it doesn't change the ability to interrupt with Concussive Blast, it only gives you more space, the other two options on this tier are generally better defensive tools. It was the actual plays that Hammer did that worked, not their build carrying them.
