Here's a great story about how one mayor tried to ban guns n' roses and metallica from coming to his city ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lFo5sZN3Ts4.html
'Appetite for Destruction' was released in 1987 NOT 1997. I was in grade 5 & wore out the motor in my Sony Walkman listening to it on a family vacation.🤣 And... I gave birth in 1997 to my 1st. So, yeah, the album is OLD (like me!)🤣🤣
Its not organic or natural change. That would be changing fades, styles, trends and sounds every few years. Globalist put on a record 20 years ago and still playing the same regurgitating song. The Few using old ideas to push to the many sheep. Instead of seeking out new vibes from the people and getting behind it funding it helping it flourish.
Starting late, finishing early...yep, that was GnR during that tour. Saw them in Philly & they didn't take the stage for over an hour after Soundgarden finished & their set only lasted 75 minutes.
I saw them a few days ago on their current tour. They still got it after all these years, even Axl’s voice has been better than the past couple of years.
Saw them 5 years ago in Boston, the first year of the sort-of-reunion (Stradlin and Adler should have been a part of this), when the excitement was still fresh. 5 years later, no new material (ok, there is “Absurd” which is ok but a bit disappointing), it’s getting boring now.
Man, I feel so old! I remember when the Illusion albums were released when I was 9 years old. Gotta love those tall thick paper sleeves that CDs used to come in!
Did they even have CDs then? All I remember was those yellow & blue cassettes were my most prized possessions 😆 I was kinda poor tho so maybe everybody else had CDs & I just don't remember lol
@@ubahfly5409 dude same! My favorite cousin in Michigan gave me both while I was on vacation up there! Ill always remember hearing Get in the Ring for the first time, and my favorite was The Garden. I went to Macinac Island and listened to both tapes nonstop for a week.
I attended one of the concerts in Brazil in December of 1992. My first rock concert, I was 13. I was absolutely mesmerized. Apparently, that was one the few concerts Axl didn't leave the stage early or refused to come on in one of his typical tantrums.
@@rnrtruestories Yeah I must say though there was a little goof up in this video your editing has improved immensely. This channel runs very smoothly now. I'm glad you took some of the grumbling and complaining from viewers about some of these things in stride. Then made the changes and improvements needed and made this channel one of the best music channels on RU-vid. You should be proud of the work you have done and the channel, congrats.
i live right across the river from where riot started in st louis missouri i heard a lot sirens that night. matter of fact i bought both use your illusion 1 and 2 on cassette. they always had great music.
I'm going to take a wild guess and assume even all these years later he was still pretty damn pissed. I mean just from that still image he looked like he was doing a lot of talking with his hands or something.
Jesus, I thought I'd heard all of the crazy GnR stories, but I'd never heard this one! So thanks for this. I did read It's So Easy years back, so maybe I just didn't retain this stuff... hell idk. I'm just so glad that I grew up on these bands. The mid to late 80's rise of Metallica, GnR, etc, etc, in my teens... the early 90's alternative/"grunge" movement in my early 20's... there'll never be another musical era like it. Ever.
Yup, their Bogotá concert was a mess xD The organizers had no idea what they where doing, never a band that size has come to this godforsaken country. Although, the tank mention is a bit exagerated. Not that many people knew who GnR where here at the time, it was common to see that kind of things when Pablo ruled (and most likely, he never said they where his friends). Oh, and the thing about a girl killing herself for not going to the show, press will say that kind of things all the time when a band came, they where pretty sensationalist about the rock scene. Great video, as usual ♥
Axl threw a chair from his hotel room at the journalists in Brazil lmao I vividly remember that... He also handpicked only MTV Brazil and an unknown VJ to interview him. The VJ ended up being Cuca Lazzarotto. Axl always liked Brazil, I remember when Rock in Rio announced the GNR show in 2001 at Rio de Janeiro everyone was so excited... then people saw Buckethead with nunchuks thinking "wtf" lol
Saw the GnR/Metallica/Faith No More show back in 1992 in New Jersey….Guns left the stage after 6 songs because people were throwing stuff onstage, so Axl just said “F*** this” and left the stage. I thought there was going to be a riot, but I think people were too tired by that point, having sat through full, invigorating sets by FNM and Metallica, then waiting 2 hours for GnR.
Huge GN'R fan, and yes, I've seen them in concert, twice. 1987, opening for Motley Crue. They were unknowns, then. Blew up roughly a year later. 1992, headlining. However, had I never seen them, I wouldn't off myself over it.
@@joeymorvant161 I still like Slash. Axel's behavior when not wanting to play was disappointing to say least for many angry fans. I had gotten a 6 wk old kitten- in a few months I changed his name from Frankie to Axel bc of his temper similar to Axel Rose. 😾💥🌹😾💥🌹
I don't care about what people say about Guns N Roses, or Axl Rose or Slash being overrated as a guitarist... They will forever be my idols as they literally changed my life with their music, I wouldn't be listening to metal if it wasn't for them, for me they will forever be the greatest band ever, although I'm just a teeny tiny 25 years late to their music, I'll listen to them for the rest of my life, I just hope I meet one of the band members at least Duff or Matt, and tell them how much of a fan I am of their music...
Not quite accurate - Matt Sorum’s adventure with the drug cartel happened when they returned to Buenos Aires in 1993, for the final 2 dates of the UYI tour. Cool vid though.
He even cry when steven was poison with drugs in his alcohol. I was surprised as well how emotional he is as we all know how he was raise i sometime can understand Somehow he have a beautiful heart despite his ego..
As I was in Venezuela when they played, one interesting thing was that they didn’t want any Venezuelan rock band to open for them; instead, GnR asked for something else, so, the organizers and the band agreed to bring a comedian “El Conde del Guácharo” who was making fun of the whole thing, that he wasn’t sure why they got him to open a rock band. They also for some reason didn’t want to play inside of the concert hall, Poliedro de Caracas, that’s actually huge, instead they played in the parking lot. In that concert hall played Queen, Police, Peter Frampton, Van Halen, among other big bands, I am pretty sure that GnR wouldn’t fill it up.
South America is in no better shape now especially in Brazil. If you look at gore sites its 80% murders in Brazil some drug cartels but alot of 2 people on a motorcycle guy on the back jumping off and shooting people. It's insane how much that goes on.
Yeah but GNR's concert at Rock in Rio was pretty chill in 1991. Axl just threw a chair from the balcony of his hotel room. The first RIR in 85 was a mess behind the scenes...
I remember that clip from That Metal Show. I watched that show all the time. I miss it. That bit of touring sure seemed like a mess. I'm sure Murphy had a field day writing laws for that one.
As a Chilean. Didn't axel Arrived 3 hours late to the show? As for the military.. Yeah the military wasn't in power back in 92, since the coup ended in 1990
@Jose Salazar omg I just went over and watched that vice interview! I too HIGHLY recommend everyone go watch and don't be put off by having to use subtitles. Nothing has ever been more worth having to read subtitles. That fuckin' promoter is hilarious, but he's also fucking awesome and MUST be one of the coolest mf-ers to walk the earth. NOBODY has ever told a better story, EVER. seriously, go watch that shit. My life is measurably of a higher quality right now, than it was 20 minutes ago. lol
In Chile, the police killed one girl by pushing people against the fences of Estadio Nacional with their horses wich fall down crushing her. Police in Chile has always been brutal on rock and metal concerts.
I love their music and have since I was a teenager. (a long ass time ago, kids) What I cannot figure out, though, is why Axl Rose is such a spoiled brat. It's like no one has ever told him no in his life. A grown ass man having temper tantrums like a damn 2 yo is not where it's at. I don't know much about how he is today, but I hope he's grown the fuck up!
How can someone be charged with "endangering human lives" by throwing a cherry at the person? A cherry bomb, yeah I can understand that. But a cherry? Unless that person was allergic to cherries, I don't think a human life can actually be endangered from being hit with a fruit, lol!
@D L S If he said chair then I must've misheard it because it sounded like he said cherry. But if he actually said chair then damn, yeah that would actually endanger someone's life. But sometimes this guy's accent makes him say things in a weird way. Like in the video about Winger, he kept on pronouncing the band's name "Wing-gur" instead of "Winger", lol! I was like what? Lol!
Outstanding job reporting my young friend. You did miss the mass riot they caused when James arm was burned and the crowd went nuts. G&R could have been the biggest super heroes that night and saved the day. Instead poor little " Rosey," ran off the stage to get his diaper changed. G&R were ( are) one of the biggest crybaby losers of all time. On top of their front man having no voice anymore. He just screams. His lousy plastic surgery job is going to split wide open one night on stage.....
Damn! Why couldn’t they have died during the tour? Everything they did after your appetite for destruction with shit! It’s just for the record company had so much money involved they promoted them for the next three years! Just think, if they would’ve died during the tour we would not have to hear anything about them after 1992 that were a blessing!
One of the most overrated Banda of all time.... Included with them are.... The Beatles Les Zeppelin Pink Floyd I could go on but I don't want to.... Rant Over. Oh and Axel Rose sounds like a dieing screaming cat.... His voice is just horrible.
Hey man that's fine opinions are subjective and you have a right to yours. But only ass clowns keep spelling it Axel, it's Axl, A-X-L, has been for about 40 yrs now . And as you kinda just said some of the most famous, popular, successful, legendary bands were overrated, it's hard to take you or your opinions seriously. I mean how bad is your life when you go trolling on a video about a band you think is overrated? I fail to see the intent you mean. Why would GNR be on your suggestions? Why would you watch a video about a band you think I'd overrated. You can't even spell the lead singers name. One of the most widely known names in rock history. I get people not liking Guns, I can understand someone who may not be as knowledgeable about music and history may feel they are overrated. I know you're just trolling and honestly I find it hilarious you can't even spell AXL right. So carry on
If zeppelin and Floyd are over rated who’s on your list of great bands? I’m cool with gnr but love zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Guessing u like a totally different genre? Check out the band CLUTCH, best rock band in my opinion but that’s just my opinion. Peace!
