I think you made the right call not doing Gunshot. No shame in being sensible and not doing any damage to the car when there is so much more of this trip to do. Looks like your still all having an awesome time.👍👍
We’ve got a long way to go still... we will be back next year and when we have all the right gear we’ll get on it and have a go. We were asking for problems this year with not being fully prepared. This trip wasn’t supposed to happen yet so we we’re not ready at all. Thanks for tuning in and the honest feedback ☺️
Oh wow you just purrrrred thru the 1st exit. 🤟🏻 ...the gunshot!!! I was cheering all the way👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 How fun was that?!!! I felt quite emotional...lol...watching you guys from the start....you’ve done well👍🏻(not that I’m an expert🤣)
Thanks James! I love getting behind the wheel, I just let Chris do it most the time as he wants to 🤷🏼♀️😂 next week is better in my opinion, the top half of the track was definitely the favourite for me 😁
@@BigOzExplorers hahaha yeah im the same I love the driving. cant wait for the next episode. I am more than happy for you to send me the next episode so i can watch it, you know for quality control :-) hahaha (its worth a try )
Another fantastic video guys, look after that Nissan, are you going to fit a snorkel in the future, Sian you are doing a great job, looking forward to the next video, take care and travel safe.
Hey John, the snorkel and front bar are already paid for, we had delays with covid getting stock. Due to be installed in 4 weeks. The OTT and Cape wasn’t on the list to do this year so we were not prepared for the OTT like we’d want to be but did what we could! We’ll be back next year for another go 💪🏻 thanks for tuning in 🥰
Love that your all the way from Canada! 🇨🇦 Chris went to Canada about 4 years ago and loved Vancouver city, learnt shuffle board in the pubs (not in pubs here) and had the best time. Hopefully we’ll both get back there one day!
@@BigOzExplorers that's awesome Chris was able to come out here. I do love living here, it is a very beautiful place to live. I was out in Australia last year just after Christmas and the first part of January. One of my brothers lives in Sydney, I absolutely loved it there and can't wait to go back
I feel like most OTT videos only show the tricky portions from the same angles! There is so much more to the OTT than the bits you see online 🙌🏻 glad you enjoyed it as a fellow OTT fan 🥰 cheers mate!
Thanks!! It has always been my strength, it has always been my job from a teenager back when my dad had a 4x4 park. Fun fact there 😏 thanks for tuning in guys 🥰
Loved this episode. Glad you took the sensible route with gunshot, you can always come back. We are going with an Isuzu and a F250 next year. Think I would prefer to just watch others do it, but I can see my son wanting to take his F250 down if it fits. Can't wait for next episode. Sian love how your out front getting the all the boys and their toys through unscathed.
Sounds like you’ll be in for an eventful trip! When looking at the tracks from the top, the far right was definitely the easiest of the three but then again, things can change with weather etc.. I actually was brought up on a 4x4 park my dad owned (Sian) and spotting/photography used to be my role during guided 4x4 tours and tough truck/tough track comps. I feel at home there and I’m not too bad at it so may as well carry on doing what I know. Thank you though! ☺️💁🏼♀️
If we had that front bar we’d be on it, we love stuff like this when you’ve got the right gear. The track didn’t scare us, just the lack of correct gear to do it 😔 damn covid delays
Great vid as usual. You guys need some of my sliders, I will be releasing them to the public beginning next year after 12mths of testing. Been building the Dual Kickout & Stealths for 200’s for 4yrs now just haven’t had time to finalise the Y62 due to other products
@@BigOzExplorers yeah chatted to you on Facey. Will go into production start of next year so give me a bell if you need any info. Message me on Facey & I can give you my business number.
Haha in all honestly the OTT wasn’t very extreme (it can be if the weather is different though) I’d love to come back with the right gear on our car and do it better next time 🙌🏻
Some great footage there guys, nicely put together, great song choice again at 24:00 , was it just me or did the Landcruiser make those tracks look easy 😂😂👍 ( Landcrusier owner here)
Hey Steve, it was great to see all three cars having a go at the same tracks, they all do it in their own way, the cruiser just likes to lift its wheels all the time 😂
We were averaging 27.7L per 100km at the Cape. Keeping in mind this was towing, fully loaded with weeks of shopping at a time and all tanks of water full on dirt and corrugation. We now average around 23-25L per 100km in general towing conditions. :)
No judgement here, if your setup isn’t right for it, it’s just not right and there’s no shame in making a smart choice. ☺️We will probably go back next year and have a go when we have the front bar on but until then... we looked at it at least 😜
Thanks mate! I’m pretty sure I would have needed a nervous 💩 before gunshot with our car the way it was at the time 💁🏼♀️🤣 next year we’ll be on it for sure, might have to argue who actually drives it though, or go twice 🤷🏼♀️😂
@@BigOzExplorers Hi mate, Thank you so much . I start to watching all of your episodes. It's really interesting. thank you again for shearing you experience with us. Have a safe tour around Australia .Wish you all the best.
Welcome to the Big Oz family Luca! 😁 Nissan’s all the way, we love ours! We looked at LC’s as well but Nissan won hands down for us 🤙🏻 hope you enjoy our journey 🥰
I just towed my new van from Gold Coast to Emerald appprox 950klms, ATM 2450kg so is a bit lighter than u guys but I got 18L/100 with my 2015 Landcruiser 200 pretty happy with that, should do even better once I get the intake cleaned and lock up kit and trans remap 👍
@@Mrbeast0099 that’s great Steve! Is that all on bitumen? We average 25L on bitumen, the 27.7L is on corrugated/dirt roads :) How do you love the new van? Bet you were so excited to get it home! 😍
Big Oz Explorers yeah all sealed roads, super excited especially because my wife and 3 kids couldn’t come to pick it up , was a quick down and back 2000 klms haha, they were up until 11 pm that night stacking and setting things up lol, can’t wait to get away in it 👍 actually our ATM is 3200, tare is 2450kg just had to clear that up lol
Sometimes, but 91 is sufficient! We run 91 over any other fuel and it performs just as well. We were told by Nissan in the very beginning that it would be okay to do so and it always has been 😁😁
We would have gone with the front bar on, no questions asked. We didn’t plan on this trip initially this year so we weren’t ‘prepared’ for everything. Next year we’ll be on it 😍
hi guys... love the vid... UP the 62!.. i noticed you reading what looked like track notes on sections with descriptions of the track, where did you get those from?
Love the channel, love your personalities, but can you please get a decent microphone and a wind sock! 🙏 Watching you channel is a constant game of volume up, volume down, what did they say, dunno I missed it too.
Hey Trent, we have a rode mic, dead kittens, Sara monic wireless mics, lav mics and the GoPro media mod... we had issues with sound back in the day trust me! Our sound is pretty good I thought and we don’t get complaints now?? Editing videos is hard work but sound engineering is next level but we mastered some of it. What episodes are you watching? If they are the older episodes I’d say it’s related to that. If it’s new, try watching on another device. We watch our shows on laptop phone and TV to test the sound nowadays. :) Thanks for watching mate! 🥰
@@BigOzExplorers watching this episode and the last few always on our bedroom TV which admittedly doesn't have the best audio quality, but the volume issues seem to be worse on your videos than other channels that we watch. What software are you editing with, Adobe premiere Pro has some great features for normalising the audio levels across multiple different sources as well as the ability to export particular sound clips to Audition to do more advanced noise cancelling filters. Keep up the good work though, can't wait to see some more adventures in the Y62 🤙
@@TrentCain I use premiere pro, haven’t played with audition before (uncharted territory!) I do use dynamics, compressor, limiter etc but it seems you know your stuff and that’s probably why your picking up on it more than the average Joe. 😉 I’ll keep working on it where I can but being one person with a family and trying to travel and still enjoy it, you know how much time editing can take I’m sure. I had no training pre leaving (and if you go back to the beginning even I know I have improved lol!)... I’ll end up doing a course at some stage to advance further again I’d say 🤙🏻
@@neilrichardson423 that great, hope it’s helped your planning ☺️ and there are always negative Nelly’s no matter what you do, we have very thick skin these days 😉💪🏻
Seriously that Nissan Patrol has barely any lift and Zero Wheel clearance. No bullbar or bashplate. What a way to ruin a new nissan. Apart from that good video.
We drove away unscathed, a little bumper damage (but that doesn’t matter as it’s being swapped for a bar in 2 weeks!) if anything this car was a bloody weapon considering the little work it had done, we took it through what Nissan claims it can do stock, and it actually performed! 🙌🏻 Thanks for watching! 😁🤙🏻
Here's a tip..get some barwork, bash plates, snorkel, get the tyre off the roof rack etc... and then tackle 4WD tracks. Seems like you guys are noobs at 4WD'ing.. lol !
Lol mate. You must not of heard a thing that was spoken about because you would know why we were here in the the first place, with the gear we had and didn’t have. Thanks for watching regardless! 🤙🏻
That was very smart, come back when you have all the bar work and bash plates, I spent alot of money on my car just so I could do not just that track but others, the wife was not impressed but hey bought a 4x4 to use it not take the kids to schools school. Really hope you enjoyed it, would you do it again
We don’t have a mall crawler that’s for sure! We want it in the tracks getting dirty doing what it’s supposed to do. Can’t wait to get back with all the gear done! 😁
