Good to see people coming back to this masterpiece again, the ending though. We all thought that after all of his struggles, Simon would get the happy ending he deserved.
Spoilers Simon getting the ending he wanted or the ending he deserved would have undermined the point of the show. TTGL is about grief, pain, loss, betrayal, and how to deal with them. Just as Kamina's death was necessary to spur Simon into growing up, Nia's was necessary to show that Simon had grown up. All of us will expirence pain and loss, how we choose to deal with them shows the world how far we have come and how much further we have left to go.
@@TheBaconShaman To sort of disagree but also reinforce your point TTGL is about how grief pain loss and betrayal are only bad things if you let them be and it's best to enjoy the experiences you have than dwell on the past. Or to put it simply Bittersweet moments are still sweet.
Simon did get the ending he wanted. After all, he said it himself. He's just Simon the Digger. He never wanted to run a city, or a human population. He wanted a simple life -- but he took the burden of the world to do right by the legacy of his brother and the future they fought for. He secured it, and seeing the fruits of all his sacrifices, he handed it over to the next generation to carry that legacy. On our backs and in our hearts.
Opera = Fate and surrendering to Destiny Rap = Free Will and fighting back! The song is in constant battle against these two themes, in the end rap wins.
Decided to rewatch this masterpiece, began super happy watching it again, ended with me regretting putting myself in complete sorrow again. That ending still hits different even after watching this show multiple times.
Despite there being an higher quality version of this song, I always choose the video with 2008 blue screen and white text intro because it makes me feel like an 2008 anime fan after watching this masterpiece!
This will honestly be one of my favorite songs of all time. No matter years go by I remember the message and entire show. This has helped me so much when I need to keep going
"We're gonna show you... the power of The Human Race!" is one of the hardest lines in the show. The absolute defiance in Yuri's delivery, Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann emerging from the space sea, dwarfed by Anti-Spiral ships, as it's declared to be unmatched throughout Heaven and Earth. PEAK FICTION. Don't even get me started on Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. So much media is afraid to just be fucking awesome. Not Gurren Lagann. This show fucks and it knows it.
*Cough Cough* BACK IN MY DAY…But really this was a great show I do wish we didn’t have that full on recap tho and also the final episode used the movie fist fight ending
This isnt the version I was looking for at the time hut this song has stuck in my heart since the series ended. If youre even having a bad day listen to this song.
I got emotional when listening to this song. Awesome. Remembering all of them fight back for their freedom. Always remindering me to keep the good fight for all situation in life.

Anyone else remember 4chan back when the LHC was being turned on for the first time and the whole website played this and changed all comments to ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER. I remember this wayy too well.
I gave this anime a chance the other day and i cant fathom how much of a good anime it is, only 27 episodes and its alredy a top 4 favorite anime of all time for me,just wow
Just saw the movie with my little bro and now he thinks he’s Simon and tells me I’m kamina we both made up our own lines when he says “do you know who the hell we are!!!!”
Ngl when im on my last stand facing the abyss staring down infinite nothingness only to know oblivion ill be headbutting it to death with this tune bopping till im turned to dust shit gets me GOING 🔥🔥
Just started this anime with a friend again DEAR FUCKING GOD this anime it's still peak as the first time i saw it Yoko Kamina Simon Nia and all the rest it's just too good really I'm so glad that Trigger created this anime
Только эта песня по настоящему мотивирует меня. Гуррен-Лаганн настолько прекрасен, что это единственное аниме которое я пересматривал более 10раз(иду ещё пересматривать сейчас)
I never did watch it in the past but i saw a vid about anti spiral but I did think I should give him a try , not gonna lie the anime was peak but the ending is the most heartbreaking part , after he struggled he did never get what he wanted . ( I actually cried Nia death was not necessary , even kamina death wasn't necessary )
