raised in Maryland and lived there for over 40 years. My grandfather taught me how to pick crabs when i was 5 sitting at a picnic table. I live in NC now and HATE you cant get a decent crab cake here. ughhhhhh. people here don't understand the process or the culture around picking and eating crabs. Its a social and cultural experience. I LOVE IT!!! I personally believe it should be part of the Maryland drivers license test. If you don't know how to pick a crab you cant live in Maryland!
55 now born and raised in Maryland ,, cant eat them anymore. doctors called it a progressive allergy ..as the years went by it got worse. Last time almost end in the ER ..
So you're upset people in a different state don't do a Maryland-specific thing exactly the way it's done where it originated? Seriously? Then why did you move from Maryland? Why not move to Nebraska and complain there are no harbors like Annapolis? Or move to Nantucket and complain they don't have enough criminal mayors, drug dealers, and murders like Baltimore? I moved to Florida from Philly but I don't complain there aren't good cheesesteaks, pork sandwiches, or 76ers games here BECAUSE IT'S NOT PHILLY.
I grew up in Washington DC, went to college in Ohio and moved back home and have lived in Maryland for the least 38 years. I have been eating crabs for over 55 years, eating crab since I was a toddler and taught to eat them independently since kindergarten as a right of passage.😂 I love to travel but I do not eat CRAB or crab cakes anywhere but home because I am always disappointed! There is no place like home 🏡 if you are a Blue Crab lover!!❤
Love eating blue crabs. Had some a couple of weeks ago. Never been to Maryland. From "down the bayou" Lafourche extreme southeast LA. Eating them about 60 years. Got you beat.
@@lagunn327 What you use to crack the pinchers? LA blue crabs are hard to beat. Had some again about 2 weeks ago. Have a seafood dude (crabs, crawfish, catfish and sometime soft shell crabs) about 2 minutes from my house. It's great living so close to the gulf.
Moved to California from Long Island New York when I was 28. It's been 29 years now and words cannot describe how much I miss catching and eating blue claw crabs 😭
Not the one I went to, but another Balitmore crab place on DDD was a delight. Glad the convenient map was still supported when we were looking before that trip.
If you knew that crabs and lobsters ate other fishes crap you may not think they are so delicious and the bottom of the ocean floors are getting terribly polluted because people are eating them!
I was raised on the Puget Sound in Washington State . We set crab pots then came back in a few hours to many Dungeness . I miss that now that i've been in Idaho for 42 years .
I'm born and raised in NY however, my mom taught me how to eat blue crab from when I was 7 or 8 years old and I've tried to teach my son and two daughters. My son is too lazy to pick the meat out saying it's too hard lol. My daughters will eat some but they end up leaving a lot of the meat behind and I go behind them and pick out every bit of that delicious crab meat. I love crab steamed more so than boiled and I love steaming mine in beer, vinegar, hot sauce with old bay, butter and fresh lemon. Best eats ever next to that jumbo lump crab cake.
I grew up spending my summers on the Jersey shore... Barnegat Bay, Great Bay... LOTS of crabs... LOTS of clams. I live in Minnesota now... and REALLY miss the bays and inlets of the Jersey shore.
I’m so jealous I am from Towson, which is right outside Baltimore, and I always loved going down to Ocean City and getting the crab feast and going into the Chesapeake Bay and crabbing❤❤❤❤❤
Moved to western New York almost 2 years ago, this is one of the main things I miss about my home state, having a crab feast every month during the summer.
I live 10 minutes from Stoney Creek Restaurant and have had crabs there quite a few times, cold beer and anything crab. Don't get much better in the summer.
It's not just Baltimore but ALL OF MARYLAND! We are def fed Blue Crab from the day we can walk in Maryland. Even though it's they don't use Old Bay , everyone in MD get's down on a crab feast & some Naty Bo.
I love watching how others like their seafood. Down in Australia our blue crabs are twice the size. As a rule I cook crabs different ways. Boil, steamed, stir frying and even straight on the coals. Longest I cook one ever is 10 mins. More often much less. But that looks great. Thanks
Who else’s brain went completely immature when that woman said “I love crabs!” Also, this guy, no pun intended, literally gets free meals for himself yet still haunts all the customers for some of their food 😂🤣
Truthfully I prefer crab cakes. Pickin' crabs is more of a social thing where you sit, pick crabs, and drink beer all afternoon. Those of us who love Old Bay Seasoning will also tell you it goes great on FRENCH FRIES.
The one and only place for real all-American seafood is right here in Maryland, though I admit to being biased after 38 years as a lifelong MD resident, my father taught me how to steam em, pick em and get every inch of that Chesapeake bay deliciousness!
Yesss welcome to Maryland!!! Best seafood in the world!! I put beer and vinegar in my steamed crabs to make them a little more sweet!!! Picking crabs is work but we'll worth it!!!!
I'm from Maryland. We always do a ketchup / vinegar / onion sauce - this with the old bay / old bay like seasoning is killer......sauce originated back in the 60's some where on the Chesapeake
Okay, coming from the Eastern Shore, Stoney Creek is up there as well as a few other places but for me, you got to to go the East side of the bay bridge and Fisherman's Inn are the best. They are the 10 but there are so many 9.9's, especially the small mom and pop places that are still left there. And Crab Cakes, nobody could match my mom's, nobody.
I absolutely love watching this show…….but please have the camera work slow down. The split second visuals going from one scene to another makes concentrating on what you are watching very difficult. Would be so much more enjoyable if camera work slows down a bit. Thank you very much for considering my suggestion.
I just brought 3 dozen of Crabs 🦀 on 116st Lenox ave Harlem NYC $28 dollars a Dozen steamed and season with Butter and Ole Bay 🔥I Love ❤️ me some damn Crabs 🦀 have a a lot of Health Benefits . And Guy is funny AF 😂 Not Santa 🎅 workshop😂😂
I had an uncle here in England that loved sea food and had his Prawns, Winkles and whole crabs on a Friday at his home near Portsmouth, England. I remember as a kid coming into the kitchen to get a glass of banana milk shake but as you came into the Kitchen/Dining Room you could smell the stink of crabs cooking in a pot, i just turned around and went back to the living room. I hate seafood but the only fish i eat is Cod or Plaice from a Fish and Chips shop, Smoked Kippers for breakfast and small amount of Smoked Salmon with a baked King Edwards Potato and Salad. Crabs, Lobsters, Whelks, Oysters and other fish and seafood i wouldn't touch at all. 💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦
