@@godofthecripples1237 people are much more likely to leave a negative review than a positive review generally, so if something is bad it is bound to receive a lot more reviews than something that is good.

If it's gay, whatever. No issue. But the rest of the show is just so cringeworthy. Like, if they wanted to make a dark and morally ambiguous Star Wars series, why not go full-tilt into the Dark Side and actually focus on the Sith?

The Acolyte lacks the common thread, forgive the pun, that binds all of these examples you listed together; it's a terrible show. Comparing this recent Disney product to any of those three shows is wild.

​@jackboehm8408 alright then here's another example Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. Both shows that hit their stride only in the third episode. It just makes sense really. I'm sure I could rattle off tons other examples.

Yeah but the buildup isn’t totally crap in those shows you mention unlike this irredimible putrid stupid show.

That’s no excuse to make said first act of your show boring. That’s the main difference between this show and the other examples you listed.

People have been saying this for years about everything Disney has done. Then something they like comes out and that tone quickly changes.

Exactly. And why do I keep going back to the channels that hate current Star Wars. 😂 at least there are plenty who don’t blindly love it but address it as it is. Explained, Screencrush, Gen Tech… they still make criticism but the lore is still the focus.

@@cartersminis Yeah totally. Some of my favourite channels I stopped watching cuz they seemed to just want to crap on the current stuff while selling their own Star Wars merch. Having an opinion is what being a fan is all about, but there feels like there is an agenda to some of it.

Half of us didn't like the show at all. That finale fight was so dumb af, and the shakey cameras annoys the shi out of me.

Im with you. Im quite an optimistic person, i mean i enjoyed kenobi, bobf and force awakens (even though i agree with many complaints about each one). The acolyte isnt too bad, especially the choreography. My biggest complaint is how leslye had the audacity to say the reason fans dont like it is because they are sexist or racist.

I like it so far, just not my favorite. I also heard that someone claimed that Disney put some gay elements in this show, but I didn’t see anything like that at all. It was clearly a false accusation placed without any proof. Ridiculous imo.

Can you please elaborate on what you consider intriguing? I'm genuinely curious, not trolling. Many people are on the "Final nail in the coffin"-bandwagon, which is a bit much, but I do think The Acolyte is horrible. The only character that I didn't find dull or annoying was the wookie, and that might be because I can't understand what he's saying. Ep. 3 established that Mae has always been an unrepentant psychopath, and I'm supposed to care about her?! When Sol says that Jedi don't take children then immediately proposes taking the children, or when Aniseya harps on about how the Thread is not for fighting, then turns around and demonstrates a combat skill is just silly writing, in my opinion. Osha's implied internal conflict before shooting at her sister and then missing seemingly on purpose WITH A STUNNER was also a head-scratcher for me. First episode, first sequence, a supposedly powerful MASTER gets done in by a lunatic with a set of letter openers? I could go on, believe me... "Wait until it's over" is fair, but if someone is kicking you in the fork you don't need to wait until they're done to decide you don't enjoy it.

@@arthuryork2293 okay you just listed way too many things for me to address, but I find the general mystery about what exactly happened that night intriguing, as well as the main characters, learning more about the twins. They were made from the force so I feel like there’s gotta be something more to them, especially since Osha is seeing visions leading her places. As well as who’s pulling the strings and why. As for the stuff you mentioned, I believe Sol meant they don’t just kidnap children, they need parental permission. The thread, or the force, isn’t technically meant for fighting but can be used for defense well if necessary I think was the point. Idk why she wanted to let Mae go, but we’ll probably get a reason. A kunai (straight to the heart btw) is quite different than a letter opener, and Mae has been trained well in the force and combat too. The Jedi didn’t know she had another one left, she outsmarted the Jedi in a split second while the Jedi was saving someone. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

I was being facetious when I said letter opener, I know even small blades can cause harm, but the Jedi regularly slap away energy blasts. And we're supposed to accept that Indara couldn't handle two thrown objects. Mae is trained, sure, but she's an entitled teenager (whoops, tautology) with anger management issues (I keep doing it, wth?!), and again, Indara's a master, with decades of experience. The twins' birth, if they are somehow magica...sorry, uh...engineered through the Thread (?) is violently trivialising Anakin Skywalker's origins, which I find frustrating, and Force visions are pretty normal stuff for Force sensitives, but I'll concede both points, I admit I am morbidly curious about where they're going with the former, but I'm also worried about it, as I said .

@@arthuryork2293 it is the Jedi approach, there are several groups in Star Wars who have their interpretations of the force as a whole. Some ideas overlap. Indara was solely focused on saving the person by stopping the knife, Mae hid her other one so she wouldn’t see it. Everyone makes mistakes, even the best of us, and sometimes those split-second mistakes have big consequences. In this case it was her being outsmarted, which isn’t uncommon for Jedi if we’re being honest given the whole prequel trilogy. It doesn’t really make Anakin less special or trivialize his origins. He was made by the will of the force itself, Osha and Mae were made by someone using the force.

Maybe that failed limerick they won't shut up with, or perhaps the interpretive dancing? ...on second thought, the last two I would consider valid reasons. Again, Jedi are trained to deflect shots from energy weapons. A master would have had the reaction speed to handle it. And Mae was telegraphing her "plan" so obviously. The only person who outsmarted Indara was the writer. On the point of "thread-etical engineering", if that's a thing that somebody could just whip up for whatever reason, it randomly happening a century later is absolutely trivialising Anakin. It was supposed to be unheard of. Impossible. Hence, "Chosen One". (Sidenote: I think I sound harsh but let me say again, I am only being hostile towards the series, and NOT your opinion.)
