He did say "you WOULD call me a sith" to Master Sol and Qimir seems like quite a smart and idealistic person so him saying that could also just mean that Jedi see everything aside from the light side as "sith" in nature. You also heard Kylo Ren's theme play when he picked up the helmet at the end so maybe he's more connected to the knights of Ren

His bracers and helmet are called Cortosis. It is a metal from legends. It sends a current up the blade into the hilt and shorts out the lightsaber, causing it to turn off.

My guess is that, like the inquisitors, quimeir’s training isn’t complete and he was only taught one or two aspects of the dark side leaving out the others. He still believes he is a full Sith Lord but in fact is still very weak.

What Ki-adi Mundi said was clearly a lie, intentional or not. We know the Sith weren't extinct, but hiding, so I don't get how seeing the Sith doing stuff in secret is a retcon really. At least for now it means the events we are watching didn't make it to the council, or that they are lying for some reason, both are intriguing possibilities.

If you were to have cut out just a little bit of that episode, I would say it was fantastic. For now I'm going to say it's better than the average episode. A couple of things for people that are confused: Qimir isn't the Acolyte, he specifically says that he WANTS an acolyte/apprentice. The episode ends with Sol and Bazzle being the only people able to contact the jedi about what happened, so there is a chance that they somehow become unable to relay that information (technically Bazzle can talk, even if he can't fly, speak to most people, and do a lot of things) His helmet isn't a stylistic choice, it seems to be designed to filter in as much air as possible while covering up his face to hide his identity. Ki-Adi-Mundi's statement was already incorrect. Whether Qimir is a sith or not does not rely on Ki-Adi-Mundi saying otherwise My own thoughts are that episode 4 should have had a gradual shift into the tone and atmosphere of this episode. I liked seeing Yord, Jackie, and Sol all being fleshed out as characters, but Jackie especially felt rushed within the fight scene. (I also think they should have made her have slightly worse fighting capabilities when she was fighting alone, that way they could really emphasis the power of the padawin and the master)

I think his helmet shortened out the Lightsabers cause when Yord runs at him his picks up the helmet and blocks his saber with it and it shortens out.

the thing that deactivated the jedis' lightsabers was a rare type of metal. in legends canon there was a sword forged from this metal that deactivated vader's lightsaber but I can't remember the metal's name. now it is officially disney canon lmao

Qimir is probably a young Plagueis and is more than likely the apprentice and is just wanting an apprentice so he can usurp his master. That’s my theory anyway. He somehow knows what happened on Brendok 16 years ago while neither Mae or Osha have the full story and at most Qimir might’ve been like 14 when that happened. His master probably was working with the witches to create life/immortality and that’s how Qimir knew. I have a feeling Sol might get “possessed” and idk. That will be what convinces the Jedi that it wasn’t really Sith.

The fact that he says he doesn't have a name means he's not a true sith. He's an acolyte. Otherwise he would have answer "I'm darth something". What he said is that jedi would consider him like a sith, he is to their eyes. But he is not a sith lord, probably was trained by an apprentice sith lord. Also, Sol looks more and more suspicious.

The acolyte is May, she is the apprentice. And the whole idea of the the show from now on is to show the story of the twins and to show how the sith live on under the nose of the jedi despite this particular "master" being pretty stupid and revealing himself

Easiest conclusion to draw is that everyone dies and the council is never informed that Qimir identified himself as a Sith. But is it possible the council is lying about the Sith being extinct in TPM? Could the Jedi involved in Acolyte have solved the Qimir problem to the best of their ability and then brushed it under the rug or chose not to investigate it further?

Let’s not forget, Qui Gon isn’t the only Jedi to die of stabbing, there was two during the attempt to arrest Palpatine, a few in the clone wars and now we finally got more in Acolyte

The show is very clearly setting up Osha to kill Sol. With Sol dead the Qimir's secret is safe. No one is going to believe the witch sisters or Basil. It's kinda dumb to be upset that Sith exist. We know the Sith exist, the EP1 was about the Jedi being morons believing the Sith were gone.

Also he said ''jedi like u might call me Sith'' he didn't said he is Sith, but he can call him by this name. How else jedi could name somebody who is wielding red lightsaber and use dark side of the force :D

I reckon they’re just going to kill Sol and the Sisters. For all its faults the show has shown that it’s got the balls to kill off pretty much anyone. I don’t think they’re going to retcon the The Phantom Menace. If they want to go real dark the show could end with Sol getting framed for the murders and the Jedi not ever knowing about the Sith at all

I personally do not think he's a Sith, if he is he's an apprentice at max, because if you actually know a bit about the lore then Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis would fit perfectly within this timeline, Plagueis would be 15 years old at this exact time. I think and HOPE they did their own thing and made it so Qimir is Tenebrous's first apprentice, then because of all of this bound thing and secret thing with his master (Tenebrous) he wanted to get out and secretly trained May to help him take out Tenebrous... Tho in the end Qimir dies, and Tenebrous goes out to get Plagueis as his second apprentice... I just hope they didn't throw them out of the picture, Plagueis is kinda cannon, as he was mentioned in Revenge of the Sith. We'll see, i just hope he's not the master, cuz it'd fuck up the entire timeline

I felt pretty much the same way about this episode. The saber fights was fine (not as good as the prequels or clone wars tho). I did find the helmet and bracer temporarily deactivating lightsabers on contact interesting, the hidden shoto saber within the hilt, and was surprised that most of the main cast was actually killed off. Other than that, the dialog and writing are still poor

I have to disagree that Sol is the most captivating character, he is the most developed character, so for. Most captivating award goes to Kelnacca, for now. Have to add, I think Acolyte is so far "I don't like sand" 5 times in a row. Just all bad. Neat fighting, out of context, is bad. Weird new force characteristics, with hyper acute old ones, interesting, I think the balance is being abused though.

The duty of the jedi is to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the force. So yes at 9:44 sol should of just kill him or put him in a condition where he cant fight anymore like cutting off his limbs Vader style. Sith corrupt the fore and throw it into unbalance. The fighting in this episode was good but the overall story is still badly written.

He’s not a Sith, 2 of the only things said about him are that 1. He likes to get in his enemies heads and 2. He doesn’t use any known form of combat (Yord said his fighting doesn’t make sense.) so it seems more like he’s not a Sith but wants to scare Sol and the others by telling them he is because he knows that’s their biggest fear

KiAdi Mundi was clearly wrong in his statement because Tenebris, Plaguis, and Sideous all existed during his lifetime. So it's not really a retcon to just make KAM incorrect in his statement.

I thought this was definitely better, the lightsaber fight was good. Actually surprised they killed Jecki and Yord, thought they would make some lame excuse to keep them alive.

It is kinda crazy that a youtube channel like Bobastic that doesn't know about Cortosis.

Overall I found myself actually enjoying the episode but I had to turn my brain off a bit and ignore the characters I don't like such as Mae, Osha, and Yord. I think Qimir is a really awesome sith character and I love his creepy psychopath demeanor. I think he/his stunt double did really well with his saber technique. I loved the brutal carnage and he seemed actually dangerous. I also give credit to the show for murdering off all of the Jedi outside of Sol so far. Killing off Jecki and Yord was surprising and I am impressed they were willing to do so. However, this in no way excuses the insultingly bad writing and plotholes, but my little star wars lightsaber loving brain still enjoyed watching the episode enough.

Sol almost killing Qimir is in the same conundrum as Mace when he decided to kill Palpatine. It’s not the Jedi way. It rhymes.

The Sith's arm brace and hemet are made of Cortosis. It's a material that deactivates lightsabers and blaster bolts. This isn't the first time it has appeared in canon as its featured a fair amount in the book Thrawn: Alliances. Thrawn & Anakin destroy a Separatist factory which was making a droid army and clone armor out of the material

As someone who has no clue (or care) about what's going on: Maybe Qimir (along with the Jedi) believe the Sith are extinct, and so Qimir decided to "revive" the order. Causing him to look for an apprentice. But he's not an _actual_ Sith because they're alive and well.

Qimir can be a Sith, without breaking the lore. 1 of 2 things would have to happen, either the information is never told or else Sol dies. But if one of these two is the case, Qimir can be written in multiple ways. He could become Plagueis master or be his apprentice, he could be one of Tenebros' many apprentices(killed by Plagueis), and he could be a foreign branch of Sith, that eventually got killed by Bane's linage of Sith. And all three could be possible and stay within lore, even adding to the Star Wars univers.

I think one thing we should take from the prequals and sequals is the fact that the Sith rule of two requires every apprentice to find an apprentice. So there can be multiple sith alive at once. This is what happened when pallpatine took on Darth maul. Then when Maul was assumed dead, he took on Dooku. Palpatine then replaced him with Vader by having Anakin kill him. Maul, still alive, began training his brother, although not necessarily to become a sith lord. Darth Plagueis was a public figure just like palpatine and they both hid in plain sight, hiding their immense dark side powers from the entire jedi order. It is possible that this was a teaching that has been passed down to keep them hidden. It is also possible that previous Sith had apprentices that escaped, were too weak to defeat their masters, or too weak to continue being trained. I don't love the show, but we should stop acting as if there aren't a lot of ways they can spin this that makes sense.

I'd never heard of cortosis (I haven't read any of the books it is mentioned or shown in) so when I saw him deactivate the Jedi's lightsabers, I was a bit confused. Then I was told what cortosis was and now it makes sense. Edit: Actually, I think cortosis was mentioned in the book Star Wars Lightsabers: A Guide to Weapons of the Force that I own but that was years ago, so I forgot.

That armbrace and helmet too is made of a certain alloy that can shutout lightsabers. It's very rarely seen let alone used which indicates how rare the alloy is compared to Beskar alloy. That alloy is called Cortosis. Either Qimir did a hack job at making the helmet as shown with the cracks on it but it's also true that Cortosis while strong against energy based weaponry it's not very strong against blunt force unlike Beskar. Qimir is merely calling himself a Sith and it appears he was self-taught. I imagine this would be dealt with and they would keep their mouths shut regarding this lone wolf as the real Sith master and apprentice are still out there. Sol didn't get rid of Qimir because the latter was egging him to do it and Sol was not about to subject Osha to something he did not wish for her to see.
