The Brazilian Artist Hélio Oiticica is a very interesting artist. Today I want to show how I noticed him move from making 2D artwork to making 3D artwork. To me his artwork addresses freedom and will explain what I see. And explain some things you can encounter when trying 3D.
The video about the artwork on the wall behind me: • CREATIVITY - To be or ...
Background information on Hélio Oiticica: • Hélio Oiticica and the... \
Experience of an Helio Oiticica installation: • Hélio Oiticica: Penetr...
Interesting observation on freedom: • How I see the US after...

In case you like to support me and the channel, here some suggestions:

2 Leave a comment, I just love to read about your thoughts
3 RU-vid shows a ‘thanks’ button below the video, thanks in advance
Materials
The art materials I use in the videos are not sponsored.
I prefer to work on multi-purpose paper, more info in this video: • How to choose the RIGH...
In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

I have learned so much from you! When I taught elementary art to kids-6, the students enjoyed your videos so much❤

Thanks, Cindy. Kids and art make a great combo. Thanks for teaching them, probably the fun of it as well. Albert

This was super interesting Albert! I could never imagine how an artist who does installations could visualize their idea. Thanks again!

This was very interesting . This seemed to speak to me. Maybe it is the mix of loving art and making dollshouses lol. Thank you, Albert for the new way of looking at art.

Thanks, Connie. Dollhouses, interested, it certainly helps to think of rooms, stairs, floors, or a balcony, in other words spatial thinking. Art is never far away. Albert

Thank you very much for the introduction to this very interesting artist and for showing us your own experiments. I have a 3 x 4 grid that I cut out to do some drawings and I think I shall be using that today to experiment with the placement of some coloured squares. Great inspiration for a grey and wet English Sunday! Thank you!

Thanks, Otmar. Interesting artist, I hope you watched the suggested video about the artist. A house is a good idea, I like to look at it as an idea or a conversation with depth, pause, light, and energy (colors) but also free to move to the right or left. And it's all in the air, 'Wolke 13', a refuge, castle in the sky, a safe haven. It resonates with me, Albert.

I wasn't familar with Oiticica, but his work was interesting as was your video about it. You always come up with good insights and ideas that spring out of art. I'm surprised you didn't go into teach art. Sometimes I think teaching art might have been a good profession for me too. At any rate, thanks Albert.

Thanks, Culture Fan. Indeed, it's an interesting artist. I hope you watched the recommended Tate video. Ah, teaching art. I tried twice at a high school. The audience wasn't really interested. It drained my energy. So I prefer like this, the right audience finds it way here. Albert

Hi Albert. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed this video very much thank you. Also, I'm intrigued by the artwork on your wall, the 4 red squares, I like it. I'm considering making something similar, using 3D shapes such as stars etc. made from folded paper, plastic packaging, foam board and such. I'd paint them with several colours of acrylic paint. Time will tell, I've just bought myself yet another musical instrument and I'm still getting to know it. My house is packed with them already but Anne is a very understanding woman! 😊
