Loved that car wash story, i used to work at a car wash and insane people like that used to come through all the time and yell at us for the smallest speck of dirt, people don't understand the difference between a wash and a detailing. James truly is a hero for the little guy.

I'm glad it was h3h3 that got into that situation, as goofy as their videos are they're pretty level-headed about stuff. In the hands of some other channel the response would have been a lot less mature, and might not have gotten the resolution Ethan & Hila got.

Mine changed yesterday - Gfs changed several months ago :I Logo has changed, the red play button moved from under text to the other side. And on the front page the "home" "Trending" and "Supscriptions" ( Or what its called) have been removed but can be accessed through the top left drop-down-menu :) Really dislike the new design because I used to just open YT, then click straight to my sub feed - Now I have to deal with a slow drop down menu first... :I Made a bookmark going straight to the sub feed though so its not that bad. Just annoying :)

I read in an psychology book by Morton Hunt, that children become bored of the curse words if they hear it often or are allowed to say them. In 67 studies of this topic, the researchers have found that the more often the individual is exposed to the words the less often they will use it if it pertaining to a bad experience.

Y'ra Exal'ga S'kgs Yeah, but you have no way of knowing if the kid's parent(s) approve of them being exposed to curse words, so it's a matter of respect towards the parent(s). Kind of like how you're not allowed to pull out your belt and discipline a kid who isn't yours if they're acting like a little douche.

I think James made the situation worse by talking to the old man. But he gave such a good tip to one of the workers, and helped keep a kid's innocence, so he is automatically the hero. I just realized this sounds REALLY sarcastic, but I really appreciate James standing up for those poor workers and future second wife. Once again, as I finished that, I realized that that ALSO sounded a little sarcastic... Look, just, you did a good thing James. You are an awesome man.

I used to work at a car wash and we got shit on everyday, mostly by old people. This one woman even tried to sue me for damage to her car that was obviously there before she went through. The world needs more people like you, James.

oh and that channel definitely is modern art. I used to be a part of that whole ""post internet"" tumblr art scene back in 2010-2012, which shared that same aesthetic and ""post-ironic" style. there were artists creating digital galleries you could walk through, animated gif images, youtube videos... I was creating digital composite art where I was putting different images together, drawing on images in photoshop, marking patterns in images that I would elevate and create shadows from, bevell and emboss and shit. was pretty fun but I felt a lot of it was lazy and I focused on becoming a better photographer instead. but hey it was cool and let me exhibit pieces in Paris and shit.

Maybe it's because I've been watching these guys for years but I see no salt or bitterness. Lawrence speaks neutrally through out most of the video as to present information easily which I figured seemed super clear. Also when talking about h3h3 and the lawsuit he seemed pretty complimentary/congratulatory.

Funhaus has gotten me into watching a lot of things that I never had interest in before, like gameplays of games that I would have never played on my own, and now podcasts. Podcasts are usually too long to keep my attention, but for some reason I love when you guys do it. I think I now watch all of the content on the channel. Keep up the good work! Love watching all your videos.

11:50 James asks "How come soap opera's look bad" There is a good reason for this. Regardless of the actual quality and budget soap operas will always look and feel bad to many people because of the frame rate of most soap operas and the processing put on the video to smooth out the frame rate. Everything is so smoothed out with motion compensation it introduces something called the "Soap opera effect." To the viewer it feels wrong or discomforting to be so smooth. We got used to the jitters of shows filmed in 23.976 and 30fps over the deacades that anything better now looks wrong. Same reason so many people reacted negatively to the hobbit, and why movies haven't made the jump to being in 60fps. While on paper it sounds objectively better, psychologically and almost subconsciously it makes viewers uncomfortable because it's against the norm.

The H3H3 ruling means almost nothing. Everyone knew it was quintessential fair use. The issue has always been the COST of defending these suits, not the law surrounding them. You know how much money they spend defending this suit? Tens of thousands of dollars. For a case that received summary judgement. Summary judgement means there wasn't a full trial. Imagine how much it would have cost otherwise! So yes, it's great to have this bit of precedent but the same issues that have always existed with RU-vid and fair use still exist. People will still act in bad faith to try and censor critical videos they don't like and the RU-vidr will still hold all the liability.

This specific case seems more like a video essay; the commentator brings forth a quote (the video clip) and then provides their on commentary. I think as long as some standard is established to cite the video clips used there should be no problem

Just let us know what site all the quality RU-vid content creators plan on moving to. Feels like that should make RU-vid change their minds on some of the strange policies they are implementing these days. I'm sure all the big creators communicate on some level. It's quite weird seeing you guys stressed about your future on RU-vid.
