I bought the same/similar card (it's supposed to be a Fenvi and looks identical, but doesn't say fenvi on it... maybe a knock off) to upgrade my 2010 MacPro (possibly a mistake) thinking this would be easier to install, instead of replacing the onboard wifi & bt cards. I know this is a completely different application than in a hackintosh; but if you or anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I now realize there are other options to upgrade the MacPro that may have been better. However, they all seem to necessitate an adapter to plug in the BT connector, regardless. So, the problem with this card is that I don't have an available USB header on the motherboard. Any advice on where to plug it in, or how to adapt the usb cable to fit an available plug on the MacPro motherboard? Thanks!
Card works but really slow. I have managed to connect to my 5Ghz WiFi network and it was over 100Mbit/sec but very unreliable, with dropping connection. Another thing which was a pain are the antennas ports. They simply came out when I installed the antennas, attached to antenna! It's very annoying and I wonder why manufacturer did not secure these ports any better! I need to use a bit of glue to set these ports solid, preventing them from coming off. Like you mentioned the verall price is good but speed wise on a slow side, both macOS and windows 10 so it's not a driver's issue. Maybe my Virgin media hub 3.0 router is a piece of junk.
@@ptmmusic4913 it’s hard to say. The Bluetooth on this card works with Catalina. So you must narrow down the problem: 1. Did you disable your motherboard BT in BIOS 2. Did you plug in the USB header 3. Did you try a different USB header 4. If the BT shows up but does not connect, try adjusting the Antennas ... it could be you have a faulty card or that some kext or config is interfering... it could be a whole lot of things, try TonyMac x86 forum they have a whole section dedicated to this card.
Hey great to hear it works. I have the same model and wifi works with lowered speed when i use this card. did you have the same issue? Also my airdrop does not work at all. do you have any idea why that can hapen? i have catalina also and tried to pair it with mi imac and never worked. also my imac cannot find any airdrop device. i also tried to login and logout of my apple id but no luck. Any feedback would be appreciated! thanks :)
Yeah I have the speeds quite low... the Airdrop worked out the box for me but services like airdrop required that I disable the onboard wifi and Bluetooth. Try disabling them and restart a couple times to make sure.
@@honestview hey thank you for your help! Actually for the lowered speed i tried to connect though a WiFi repeater that i had and the speed seems to be kind of better but not much. I guess some protocol communicatin has to do with it. Because the distance from my router is the same as with my repeater. Actually in my mobo z390 pro there is no WiFi on board neither Bluetooth. Im kinda lost. Any other sugestion?
@@ronnizag yes, but from someone more experienced than me, most likely it is clover config setting. Do you have iMessage, Facetime, AppleID or Apple Store set up / able to access it? Here is a thread where people with Mad skills are: www.tonymacx86.com/threads/broadcom-wifi-bluetooth-guide.242423/ they can help you much more than I.
Works out of the box: TRUE up to Ventura. Speed: sadly not at the rendez-vous ! Read Fenvi: not that sure. Too much instability on the ASUS Maximus XI Hero motherboard: shutdown, restart and even worst sleep doesn't not work any more. Tried with two different cards. I'm today sending back the 2nd card ... for ever. I'm keeping my old TP-LINK Archer T9E which is really fast and strong reliable with the OGear GBU 521 W6 Bluetooth 4.0 USB, chipset BCM20702A0. Maybe if I had the chance to get a real Fenvi I wouldn't get to suffer that much with that damned card.
I didn't find any Bluetooth issues with mine for distance, (maybe up to 10 meters or so) I would check the antenna, also try to disable your onboard Bluetooth in BIOS, could be interfering somehow.
@@kloakovalimonada well, if you are getting signal, but it is weak, it means it is working but the signal is emitting poorly, which would be the antennas or interference in between if you switch around the antennas, see if they are connected properly, they could also be dislocated behind the metal shielding in the board itself. but these are just guesses, could be anything.
Should do! Fenvi T919 is compatible with Big Sur (as it has an actual Mac wifi Chip from a Macbook Air inside) But like everything Hackintosh... some might experience issues... if that's the case, the TonyMac x86 forum should help.
