My head cant wrap around that this a highschool production. This is some professional level shit. Good job to these kids! That choreography and vocals. Like are you kidding me? Some big careers coming
This is freaking incredible! I can't believe this is a high school production, every single person on that stage pulled their weight and then some! Especially with all of the constraints I'm sure this production was under! I can't imagine corralling such a huge cast, condensing everything into 20 mins, and working with the surely non-existent budget! (plus the choreography/staging was absolutely IMPECABLE)
Holy shit a high school production have no right to be this good. Eurydice nailed it, I would pay for you make the Chant parts. I think the people seeing it must have been really confused tho, you somehow made a two hours show in twenty minutes, must have been hell chose what to cut out
Wow, I legit had tears in my eyes for a few of the moments in this show. The choreography is absolutely incredible, Persephones voice- my GOD! Rest of the cast too, but so much dedication and energy from the ensemble too. This is really incredible. OP, any background facts you can give us on this? What was your role in this production? What's your favourite moment, on stage or behind the scenes? How much time did it take to prepare everything?
The choreography is SO GOOD, holy smokes I'm so impressed. It's, of course, better if you know the full story, but you did a really good job at nicely cut down to still get a grasp of the story, and in that way maybe encouraging for the audience to hear the whole thing. Great preformance
this is freaking amazing omg. the way it was cut is so good. I can't imagine cutting a 2-3 hour show into 20 mins. I am in love with the ensemble!!! the choreography is great as well. amazing work especially considering the very limited time y'all were given!!
WHAT ? Just WOW ! I’m speechless ! Huuuge Hadestown fan here since its nascent beginnings in 2006. You are all amaaazing ! Incredible voices !! Fabulous arrangement ! Bravo !
One of the most impressive things about this is that there's SO many people yet they're all so well-coordinated, everyone pulled their slack on stage. Not even my college prod has this many ppl on stage 😭
This has to be some sort of performing arts school because to have every single member of the ensemble put in 110% dedication is a concept only dreamt about in my school, the leads take it seriously but the ensemble only seem to be there for the shits and giggles. They were all incredible!! The vocals, harmonising and choreography was all perfect, the ensemble were really just incredible! The leads aswell. Persephone and Eurydice sounded so similar to Amber Gray and Eva Noblezada, Orpheus sounded like a mix of Reeve Carney and Jordan Fisher which I loved, Hermes’ voice was equally incredible and his energy in Road to Hell was amazing, and the fates were incredible and their harmonising scratched my brain!! I wish we could’ve gotten to hear Hades sing, I’m sure he would’ve been incredible, and I wish so many songs had been able to stay in this, especially Chant and Any Way the Wind Blows. The way it had been shortened down was great, shortening a 2 hour show into a 20 minute one must’ve been difficult but the choices made were all brilliant! I still was able to follow the storyline and I’m very happy both Wait for Mes were kept in aswell as Living it up on Top and Way down Hadestown, because those are some of my favourite songs. Also the trombone player in road to hell was incredible, at first I thought it was actually a recording before I spotted the trombone in their hands!
the acting was eh but JEEZ the singing and choreo WOW the lighting and the stage budget is alrdy way more than my school could EVER and a LIVE ORCHESTRA??? i mean the audience is super confused but like props to yall. ALSO BEETLEJUICE AT THE END HAHA
I know y’all only had 20 mins and had to cut a lot, but I think your version of the script leaves a taste in the audience mouths that’s neither clear or enjoyable. This is the cut I would have made give or take a few minutes. 1) Epic I+II (into the same song) 2) Chant (into only one verse) 3) Hey little songbird (Only two verses) 4) I’m gone+ Wait For me 5) How long (only two verses) 6) Chant (Reprise) 7) Epic III (sped up tempo) 8) Wait for me (Reprise) + Doubt comes in
Congratulations!! This was quite good. What high school is this? Congratulations to the student Actors, The Stage Crew, Designers, Vocal coach, Board ops, the Band and ALL of the Teachers for their encouragement.
Is this from a performing arts high school? It's AMAZING! The choreography and the vocals are stunning. And that trombonist, he carried this show! As a student at a VERY academic school (we don't have a theatre club, or sports, or anything like that), I can only imagine what it would be like to perform in something like this. Kudos to everyone involved including crew! Edit: Also that stage is incredible!
I.Am.Speechless. the choreography, the chorus, the buildup to "wait for me", the stomping of the feet. I can't help but look at this and think that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Beautiful performance!!!
I dont like the fact that you guys skipped a lot of the plot and character development but I understand, since this is just a high school production. Otherwise, you guys did good! The choreography was great, and the vocals were spot on
HoityToityBadger They only had 20 minutes to do it because there were other groups that performed. It was a 2 1/2 show but this group was the grand finale.
