Venturing out to tackle the long distance path along Hadrian’s Wall between Carlisle and Newcastle, Kit and I travelled up yesterday by train to Carlisle and stayed in a B&B overnight. We are heading easterly and making our way to Walton for our first stop.
I hope I have commented accurately about the areas around and points I reference in the video. Please accept my apology if it seems I have not included something important or not got a detail correct in some way. I have done my best - I’m not an expert!

Taking care on the hills:
I’m not a pro, expert or any kind of leader on the mountains. I step out for fun and my own personal enjoyment. What I do is at my own risk. I do not suggest anyone does what I do, the way I do it, where I go or anything else in my videos. I’m always mindful of my own safety and doing what is right with respect to the environment and others on the hills. If you watch my videos, please enjoy them as they are and don’t necessarily assume they are examples of excellent practice. I’m learning along the way too.
As always, every fell-walker goes out on their route taking on responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing, accessing areas that are open to the public or asking for permission as necessary. I totally support the #LeaveNoTrace campaign and encourage everyone to follow that too. So, if you venture out, please respect the environment, be considerate to others along the route, stay safe, wear, carry and use the clothes and equipment that you need for your trek, have ample food and drink for the duration of your trek, navigate carefully and keep within the limitations of your fitness and abilities. Let others know where you plan to go and when you will return.
Stay Safe. Enjoy!

Florries was really good. Basic room for sure but the shower room was large and clean and the dining/lounge area was lovely as the evening lights came on. The couple who run it were lovely. :) W

Now that's the smartest self service shack I've seen Warren - a nice break indeed. I resonated with the cottage. I went passed one similar on the Offa's Dyke and a local said it was a farriers - looks a bit like that. Any way, a flattish start with great company there and a tasty comfortable end. All the best out there. Mark
