Today we have another killer pedal from Jim Hagerman over in Hawaii - and this one is a terrifying box of nastiness! The METAL is - as the name would suggest - an angry, fuzzy distortion pedal, centred around the (somewhat rare) LM3900 Chip. As with many of the other pedals from the black Silicon series, the gain is fixed - but it responds beautifully to your guitar's volume control, so you can control everything on the fly with ease. Plus, the Tone knob is super-powerful, taking you from warm synthy-style leads through to gnarly biting aggression.
What do you think? A brilliant box of bite? Or not for you? Comment below!
Guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Custom w/ OX4 Hot Duane PAFs. Amp is an Orange Retro 50 running into a Zilla Fatboy 2x12 cabinet loaded with Fane F70 and Celestion Heritage G12H75 ceramic speakers.
