I thought it was out of left field the first time I watched the podium speech when it was just zoomed in on Deeg's face. I saw another angle of it that showed the crowd holding up 2 AUS flags front and center. It then dawned on me that Deegs has had to watch the Lawrence brothers stand on the top spot, week after week, with AUS flags and chants flying in a US national series. MXON is also a thing and is fun to root for the home team. I still like the Lawrence bros. but good for the kid and he did nothing wrong. Also, the first time he mentioned the US was when he won a moto on July 4th weekend.
Blows my mind that we’re living in a time where flying the flag that we grew up pledging allegiance to since birth is now “offensive” or “right wing”. Beyond even right and left, the whole WOKE thing absolutely needs to go.

Proud to be an Aussie & we are a country that keeps our patriotism close to our chest. But in the same breath I’ll never knock anybody being vocal in there belief in their country. I only disagree when you think being disrespectful to another persons country is ok. That’s when it shows weakness in character.

Listening to Steve trying to make Deegan seem like he’s a bad person for representing his country was a FAR reach. I even commented on his post on Instagram and we went back and fourth on it. As a dual citizen myself, I can say that I am proud to be an American and that in no way Deegan was coming from anywhere negative when he said that he was glad he was able to put an American on top. I believe that him bringing up nationality has something to do with his desire to be on team USA.

At the MSDN in England back in 2007, the Welsh were so proud that during the breaks, some of them got their whole kit off and walked around the track doing cartwheels at silly stuff. Luckily their flags weren't even flying at half mast:)
Coming from England, I think Haiden is setting a great example and it will without doubt build his fan base even higher. Once people loose their patriotism, the rest slowly crumbles away into a woke PC bland mess, where people just don't care and loose their goals or dreams (something I see here a lot). I was listening to the pulp show last night and Steve went on and on about this topic, about how wrong it is and about how it's Brian that's telling Haiden to say this stuff. Then after he harped on it for a half hour, later on in the show he took a caller that was even more left-wing than Steve and he actually said the word xenophobic describing Haiden Deegan and Steve did not disagree. What a worthless piece of crap, I will never listen to the pulp show again.

Im so with you. Im from Puerto Rico and even we are American citizens since 1917 thanks to Pres.
