I have seen so many cars within the last couple of months with severe hail damage that is raised a couple of questions with me. People are willing to take a huge hit by trading these cars and trucks in instead of filing for insurance claims! Tell me what you think below, would you just take the lose? Nice video Cody🙌 It is really common for people to think their insurance rates will go up if they make a hail claim but your insurance rates will not go up for making a hail claim. So even if you are going to sell, trade in, or just not fix it It’s still worth making that hail claim.

Definitely keep it posted. it’s a good video with a lot of good information. I’ve been fixing hail for 20 years and I just found this out a few years ago. Telling people their rates won’t go up is probably not something insurance companies will be shouting from the rooftops just because if someone is worried about their rates going up they might not make a claim and it saves the insurance company a ton of money.

I agree with you, Scott. That’s the hail damage of my dreams. But he’s correct that vehicles will total out a lot of the time of the damage is just a little worse than this. Almost have to be brand new to not total anymore.

Well I am in that exact situation today. A hail storm came through Georgia and the hood and the roof of my car has considerable hail damage. It's a. 2012 VW beetle with 80k. miles. It's paid off and I am wondering what to do? I figure the car is worth 6K but it might be 2k to 3k to fix it. Should I report it to the insurance company, fix it out of pocket or trade it in?
