Hail to the Chief! Mystery Abscess on a Bannitup Bull

Q84 has a funny little abscess in an awkward location. What the heck! Maybe a hematoma from a kick from a mate, maybe a hematoma from a broken rib from a mate… these young sale bulls play hard! He certainly doesn't like being restrained, but this is pretty common for young bulls. The skin over abscesses are numb both due to distension of the skin and disruption of nervous innervation from the large volume of abscess material directly under the skin! Lucky this is so, as there is no where to place lignocaine either! So, we work quickly and as you can see once he walks out he is cool, calm, and collected. Back in with his mates. Had we sedated him, they would likely take advantage of their opportunity to bring Q84 down a peg or two... which is why we don't sedate these fellas. Back to the paddock for him and his scaly mates! Hopefully now he can find his forever (average of three seasons) home and start making babies! Hail to the chief!

@Fresh_Biscuits

@Paperwing ya... badass isnt the word i would choose lol. Just never be this cavalier when dealing with your own Healthcare, food preparation, or anything else really. "Gods gloves" can kill especially if your doctor is going from patient to patient rinsing his hands in varius bodily fluids. 🤢🤮 Edit: I have no way of knowing if/when anyone responds to me unless i get a like on a comment, or if the likes are in increments of idk...5? If you disagree with me i think liking a comment for a few seconds then removing it might send out the bat signal...maybe. Idk...

@Fresh_Biscuits

@@KeaveMind gloves are removable when they are cut or contaminated skin is not. Gloves getting "messy" is not a viable reason to ignore basic health and safety guidelines. And i clearly stated that i was talking about your PERSONAL Healthcare. Seeing as you assumed that meant Healthcare for bovine i assume you yourself are a cow, to which i say "Moo"
@1Jamesinator
@1Jamesinator 2 года назад
@@Fresh_Biscuits Actually even in Human based healthcare, we (I'm a nurse) are encouraged to not wear gloves unless exposure to bodily fluids, or resistant microbes is highly likely. And even then, if you aren't wearing gloves and you are exposed to those things, you just do a good job washing your hands and continue on.
@Fresh_Biscuits
@Fresh_Biscuits 2 года назад
@@1Jamesinator Are you employed by a sentient staphylococcus infection? Because wow that is completely bullshit. You dont put a condom on after sex do you? Anyone who "encourages you to not wear gloves" should have their license revoked. Me (im a paramedic) have worked in 3 states working everything from ER to critical care. all my cousins are nurses, my partner is a nurse and their father is a doctor. You know what they all do? They wear gloves. My grandmother died 2 years ago from an infection caught at a care home So lets not compare dick sizes for something any gradeschool student can tell you. you are putting your patients in danger. ive seen a few people who cut the index finger off their glove to find a vein then throw the line in with their gloved hand but to say you are encouraged to not wear gloves? Bullshit. Especially during a pandemic! you do not have a right to gamble with other peoples lives. Wear gloves, switch between patients, AND wash your hands.

When I was in pre-vet, we put a cow in a chute to practice giving shots. We lined up at both shoulders and hips. We only used a needle. We wete told to lightly hit them with the pinky side of our fist, then jab the needle in. They said the animal may jump with the hit but then not be surprised when we jabbed the needle in. We'd be able to see if we hit a vein if blood came out since we were supposed to be in muscle. Less needles being bent or broken since they were less likely to jump from the needle. That poor cow was being jabbed by us at all four corners. I used that same method with my Morgan horses when giving their shots. Cocoa had a thick muscular neck and bent a needle. Thankfully got it out before she broke it. That would've opened a big can of worms we didn't want. Watching these videos are bringing back some great memories. Love watching your videos. Look forward to the next ones.
