I followed the nonsense of not using grease and my hair went downhill. Once I started using grease again, my hair was back to its old school self … long, thick, bouncy, healthy hair. Thank you for sharing!
@@CurlyChemistry This is the tried and true that was used before the 1st relaxer (ultra sheen) came out. Black hair needs a pomade not just water if it's in it's natural state and sometimes so does relaxed hair.
For real though, because when do we see any of our moms or aunties or grandmas or cousins with no hair on their head or damaged hair? And all they was using was some grease some Dax some live all that good stuff
@profmj7630 Hey if it works, then so be it. I just recently used the Blue Magic super gro, it's the one with the herbs in it and I love it, made my hair silky soft, and it smells sweet too.
I followed so many other Black women on here using moisturizing creams, leave-in conditioners and etc... hair went through hell for years had to shave it constantly. Decided when my hair was at its healthiest was Blue Magic grease mixed with oils. Went back to spraying my hair with water & a small amount of Pantene Gold series detangler mixed in and used grease again. Hair is now shoulder length & thicker with less shedding & no split ends.
Yes!!! Grease is everything! I’ve never understood why we stopped doing what our Mama’s did to our hair as children. Full heads of hair down our backs with grease & low-manipulation styles. If it ain’t broke, let’s stop trying to fix it. Beautiful hair, Curly Chemistry ! Great video!🎉🎉
I never realized how different the original Blue Magic hair grease line truly is compared to the Indian hemp grease. After comparing the ingredients I believe I'll give the Indian hemp a try. Also you have NO frizz what so ever😮. Although I use my whole cloves and aloe vera juice mix, then apply my Blue Magic grease, I'd like to eliminate the frizz as well. Thank you for sharing!!❤
I had a set back yesterday and did this today on freshly washed hair. First time trying this method on my transitioning hair and about to throw so much stuff away. Thank you for your channel. Keeping it simple 😌
I have been using grease since I was a kid, I love the way my hair looks with it. I really don't like the way it looks or feels without it. I apply it to my scalp as well. Without it, my hair is sooooo dry 😮 I like bounce & body, but I really love my hair to feel & look healthy. Thank you so muchhhhh for sharing this video. Your hair looks amazingly beautiful! Truly appreciate you and the content you freely share with us all. 🌿🌷🌿
This part! Cuz that's when I use grease when the air is super dry and cold and it's difficult to keep moisture in your hair strands. I also like using pomades that have a beeswax base in them.
It's so funny because this is literally how all us 80s, maybe 90s babies did hair. Don't add pink lotion in the mix! Hair will be super soft and moisturized!
I also use blue magic mixed with peppermint oil on my scalp I love it i don’t know why so many women listen to youtubers telling them not to use grease it doesn’t clog pores I have small locs that are growing wonderfully because of grease
As a white girl with wavy damaged hair I actually do this, I hair likes ethnic products as most people struggle with moisture , my hair is naturally really dry and chemical damage doesn’t help, I like to use a leave in or roseMary and clove water as a base, worked wonders!!
Yup just like my mama used to do in the 80s....my hair has grown so much since I went back to Ultra sheen hair grease and Luster pink lotion. I cant do butters and oils with my seborrheic dermatitis
Just FYI, when using hair grease it’s important to use a clarifying shampoo since grease is really hard to fully remove off your hair strands! It does a good job at retaining moisture and any other product you layer on your hair. I wouldn’t recommend re-applying (but of course it’s always up to you) once you already applied a layer for that week or 2weeks.
My hair hates this stuff 😢 it also burns my eyes and made me break out. I called it quits when I couldn’t even hold my toddler without some getting on him. My hair just would not open up to it so it literally sat, in chunks, and would harden. And I do not even have dryness or porosity issues. Grease just doesn’t belong in my cabinet.
I just started using Royal Crown again. I saw it completely by accident in Smart n Final. I remembered it from my childhood. I have hair to the middle of my back but it’s very curly, dry and frizzy. I started using grease about 2 weeks ago and noticed how soft, shiny and defined my hair was becoming again. I also noticed less hair loss during shampoos. I’m using a cream moisturizer then grease on my hair with a headscarf at night. Old school really works!❤
I have 4c hair with 2 different textures my hair is so dry and wouldn’t retain moisture so I brought some blue magic hair grease and used warm water to damp my hair and seal moisture my hair is so soft and lays flat my mom used this grease when I was a child and my hair grew like crazy 😮
Hello Tonya - Can I use Vaseline Original Healing Jelly as a grease for my hair? - Can I apply the hair grease after a leave-in conditioner? - If I applied it to my hair and slept, is it going to transfer to my pillow case? Thank you
I plan on cutting my natural hair 4 b/c. I think a TWA would be more manageable for my work schedule. Can you advise me on gels for it to still look cute?
Using a clarifying shampoo first can help break through the grease and then a moisturizing shampoo to add moisture back to the hair. Re-moisturizing not so frequently can also help avoid buildup. Using less grease maybe also.
Gon head!! I never stopped using grease. I still even use sulfur 8 on my scalp when I’ve neglected it. That said, how do I maintain moisture while heat styling y’all? My hair is dry now smh
This will definately help get the blood sucking Ashein beauty supply companies out of our communities. My paternal grandmother and aunts had hair down their backs. Grandma use to sit on her hair. All they used was water & grease.
If you're planning to wash soon or keep your head tied up. I just find adding grease to my scalp always transferred to my face some how 😂 looking real greasy. Try a lighter oil and massage your scalp to activate the oil already on your scalp.
@@gatesfamily3470The thing is,hair grease does not come off easily unless you use a sulphate shampoo. So,is it okay to just go on my normal routine? sulphate free shampoo weekly and a sulphate shampoo once a month? Please let me know
@@ww.Sarlynne I'd say the safest bet is to continue with what works best for your hair type. Hair grease isn't difficult to be removed from my hair, so I don't change my routine. Remember, a little goes a long way.
