Any females here in their mid 30s here? Your not alone. I'm shedding hair at a increasingly high pace. I stopped medications i had been on for years that were prescribed for stress n depression. And now my body is undergoing allot of changes. And in just couple months time iam down to HALF of what my hair thickness was. It feels HORRIBLE. I can grab all of it in one hand..and it's full of conditioner build up, dry and brittle. I can actually FEEL my scalp and the individual hair follicles tighten hard. 😭😪😞🤷
I’m on anti-depressants I also noticed my hair shredding 😭😭 I stopped immediately I hope I’ll see change soon 🥲🥲 I use to have a thick Afro gone. This is painful to experience
I’m a healthy 27 year old female and have noticed my gradual hair thinning and hair loss for 3-4 years. This was around the time I graduated uni and started full time working. But work and life was normal in terms of stress - nothing traumatic, and nothing I couldn’t handle. My mum is 53 and has severe hair loss to a point she’s almost bald, and she’s had 4 kids. My bloods are all normal, except vit D being ‘mildly’ low according to the doctor. I have a bad history of maintaining consistent whole food and healthy diet and weight - I have to admit I do yoyo diet. I don’t use any heat tools or chemical dyes and haven’t for 4 years. Otherwise I’m a normal person. So let’s hope these vit D supp and diet/exercise helps me - otherwise I’ll have to look into minoxidil topical 5% or PRP
Check your shampoo or other hair products. It could possibly be how often you wash your hair, or the water you use on your hair. Faucet water have chemical in them.
I would also recommend a good magnesium supplement (I use citrate, some people recommend glycinate), and vitamin k2 (mk7). Magnesium is necessary for vitamin d uptake, vitamin d3 is the more bioavailable form of vitamin d, and vitamin k2 is needed so that the increased calcium absorption from the d3 is directed to proper places in the body (preventing calcium deposits in joints and stuff). Also look up ferritin levels with female pattern hair loss.
@@Demetra825 I had covid two months ago and now my long thick hair is falling out horribly. Never in my life have i had this issue...hope yours has recovered and gotten back to normal! geez
@@ravenred201 same here, I had Covid towards the end of May and the amount of hair coming out in the shower now is really distressing, it's handfuls each time. I can feel that my hair is a lot thinner already, especially when I tie it back and the ponytail looks so small and limp compared to a month ago. I really hope this stops for both of us soon, I feel like I'll go bald otherwise!
@@oldfishtown take good vitamins and do NOT allow yourself to stress and worry about it. It will grow back, but it will take time...i'm like you, middle may for me so this is the third week already and it comes out like you said, by the globs...i had my husband cut off 4.5 inches already so i don't have the thin strings on the longest part, now it's right at my bra strap but doesn't look as bad...keep yours cut/trimmed/don't slow down washes, you want to get all that shedding over with so your new ones will come in. Average hair growth is 6 inches per year...so, we have a few years for new baby root hairs to catch up... Hope it's over soon!!
I had major hair loss at one point due to hormone changes/endometriosis and thyroid fluctuations. Once it calmed down, my hair must have grown because it's super thick again. It still sheds all the time though.
Haìrloss IS very frightening! & trying to figure out what is the cause is terrifying because You just don't know where to start sometimes. dry dandarff, frezyhair, sheding everyday, receding hairline in my 20s I cut off my hair today didn't go bald because of the society as im a girl 🙂 but im happy soon ill get a same haircut as my small brother ☺
I started losing a lot of hair after i stopped eating meat. Im back to eating meat but… 50% of my hair is gone and it doesn’t stop falling. Im not bald anywhere but its very thin and i do itch on my scalp all the time. I went to a dermatologist and insisted on the inflammation and scalp itch and she didn’t give me any treatments. Just biotin and minoxidil if i wanted . I did pay a lot to have her tell me i didnt have anything just shedding
My hair loss started 3 years ago at 18 years old.I’ve seen tons of long hairs come out on my brush throughout this time. I’ve had blood tests, everything was fine. All of the men in my family are bald but no women have alopecia.
Interesting. Are you considerating going to see an expert? Also, you should check if the hair that you are loosing is very fine. If there are hairs that are short and really really fine, It may be hereditary hair loss. Best wishes
I have that question too! I have TE due to low iron. Started my prescription for iron 2 weeks ago, I hope it’s not too long since I’ve been shedding for 4.5 months now 😔
@@Char_LotteRose hi!! How has the iron supplement worked for you?? I’m starting to take a multivitamin with iron in hopes to see new growth and less fall out
the best thing i did was getting a pixie cut, I could not maintain my long hair anymore i had to ware a cap when i was cooking as i shed so much, Just have to except a new look.
Hello did it get better? I have lost lot of hair and now it kind of stopped. Did you experience a new hairgrowth? I dont see anything my hair stopped falling and thats it. :(
When all else fails, I'll get a wig. 57 yr old female with hypothyroidism on Synthroid. Thick hair but the shedding is a pain. If it gets too nerve wracking I'm shaving it off. It's just hair.
Please reply to my question! I have started using the regaine foam but in the mornings i get puffy eyes. Then did some research and found that alot of people reported their skin started aging badly and creating many wrinkles due to minoxidil stopping to the collagens in your face. Please tell us if this is true.

I’m so *SAD* I have cried so many times because I’m losing a lot of hair and I’m only 16 I feel so ugly and I have told my mum many times about my hair but she doesn’t do anything I don’t know what to do I don’t even like going out anymore I feel like the most ugly person on planet earth 😭😭
Hey girlie, hang on tight. Everything will be okay. At the drs check if you have a hormone imbalance, iron/vit deficiency etc if you can. If not just wear your hair up as much as you can until you can figure out how to solve the problem I took rogaine that can be ordered online and that had my hair growing back like crazy (the only thing is you have to be very consistent with it)
I am so glad I found this video and plan on binge watching all the videos on women’s hair loss tonight. I’ve been upset recently with my hair getting thin to where now I can see scalp along the top. 5 years ago I had a bone marrow transplant for MDS. Complete baldness but I knew it was temporary. Sure enough it slowly grew in - albeit curly and grey! I have very thick hair, and yes some thinning with my hair due to stress and age ( 60). To have scalp showing and hair coming out with every shampoo or brush is just insult to injury at this point! Lol Anyway, I really enjoyed this video, you both seem quite kind and very knowledgeable. I’m in the states or I’d make an appointment! I lived 3 years in Melbourne in the 90s. Best 3 years of my life! Ta!!
My hair was so long and I straightened it all the time for over a year and it never shedded then in March I noticed a lot more hairs falling out during the day and a lot more hair coming out in the shower and now it’s October and I still straighten it definitely too much but it’s actually a lot shorter now but still so much hair comes out during the day and I’m the shower
Very informative! I’ve had iron deficiency for several years with off and on treatment but never a ferritin over 20. I’m now going to see a hematologist and look into iron infusions. My hair loss is getting very bad at this point (I’m now 42). Is it too late to correct this? And how long before hair regrowth once iron levels are optimal? Thanks!
I don’t think anyone can help me at this point. I’ve been losing my hair since age 40 and I had very long pretty thick hair. Now I’m age 50 and I’m about bald. I’ve been to laser treatments taking all my vitamins for vitamin D and mega vitamin four iron, I’ve had my thyroid checked. They said it was fine just a 0.5 module but nothing has worked. I would pay any amount of money to get my hair back.
Daily my hair is shedding..but not regrowing. From my age 18 i have this problem now am 22. Because of this am almost bald.... Am worrying about my hair daily... 😢
With a grateful heart I have been having hair loss for more than 1 year's now a friend of my to me how DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on RU-vid cured her from hair loss and now I was also Cured too God bless you
Doctors, do you want to know how you can make your channel explode (as in getting more views?) By answering the many questions your viewer have. It's not enough to just explain the problem, we need to have specific questions answered and if you do that your channel will hit the stratosphere!
they don’t know why i am having hair loss ): i did so many blood tests i did have iron and vitamin D and iron deficiency however the doctor said not enough to cause hairloss. i do have inflammation in my head and get some shampoos and topical. this has happened around 2-3 months ago i noticed two spots which i was worried about however since the first time it’s gotten worse and i continue to have less and less every week or two. i am also only 19 years old i cant tell if stressing over my hair made it worse or triggered it in the first place they also said i might have an autoimmune disorder or disease which test said yes but not exactly positive of what
I have super thick hair and lots of it and I’ve had telogen effluvium several times not sure why . However a few weeks ago my thyroid meds put me in a hyperthyroid status so I went off for a week and the shedding got worse with losing hair every time I touch my hair! I also had a Hair Botox (it’s not the same as the one at dermatologist office )smoothing treatment which seems that it made my scalp sensitive hair. I see finer shorter hairs falling out too. I have PCOS and both my mother and grandmother had hair loss on their frontal scalp. I also most likely have Celiac disease so I might have nutritional deficiencies.
On point. Never. They don’t care. By asking for blood tests they give themselves work they don’t get paid for. So Why bother ??? They don’t give a S... I ended up going to my doctors with a list of things I WANTED him to test for. Trust me, that’s the way to go.
Hi doctors, how about increasing shedding after coming of the pill? And if there is a pre-existing female hair loss pattern, is it possible to measure what percentage of the hair shed could be recovered? what are your thoughts on coming off the pill for women with diagnose AGA? Thank you for this channel amd educating us!
I found out I have iron deficiency (ferratin level of 12) in mid-april and started supplementing at that time, so it's been several months. I was losing a very large amount of hair prior to it and it has cut in half since starting it, maybe even less than a half of what it originally was. Is this a normal timeline for recovery? I can't seem to get a straight answer for this. If you could answer it would be very helpful! Thank you for the great videos.
I had a rhinoplasty about 4 months ago, and I got the coronavirus few weeks after that, and now my hair is falling like crazy! It has been shedding for about two months now. Is this hair shedding due to the surgery?
This video is about them not you. You guys actually expect them to answer all your valid questions? I don’t even expect doctors to help me anymore and that’s after I paid my consultation.
Thanks for talking about hair loss in women! I have (lean) PCOS and due to hyperandrogenism I experience hair loss in a male pattern (receding hairline, temples and vertex. I’m on Diane 35 and this helps, but it is still progressing. Spironolactone is unfortunately not an option. Would it in my case be helpful to consider something like finasteride? Thanks in advance!
Hi Brenda. Many thanks for your comment. Finasteride may well certainly be an option. There are lots of factors to consider in making that decision and age will play a significant deciding factor. You should certainly chat to someone who is experienced in hair loss who can advise you in person. We have done a video discussing treatment options. It will be uploaded over the next few days. All the best.
am 20 years old and am not exposed to any type of stress i lead a normal life and a normal diet but my hair has been thinning for the past 1 year it used to be so thick and healthy that people even didnt believe me if it was my true hair but now it is really thin and doesnt seem to be growing back what am i supposed to do please help me
Hello, thank you for your videos. I would like to know more about the effects of Seborrheic dermatitis dermatitis on hair loss. I've been loosing an abnormal quantity of hair and my dermatologists told me it was Seborrheic dermatitis and prescribed a shampoo and a spray for my scalp, it's been 4 months and it is getting worst. what would be a good way of determining if this is because of Seborrheic dermatitis, or stress or something hormonal and what is the best way to treat them? thanks
Folisin is a product for hair loss in men. To create the recipe of the food supplement, as many as 13 ingredients were used that inhibit baldness, support hair growth, and have a positive effect on the condition of the scalp, creating the perfect environment for new hair growth. Importantly, all the ingredients used to create the tablets are safe for the body and do not cause side effects nplink.net/ykcjp1ro

Hi, I had gotten prp treatment n was advised to use minoxidil, I used it for about 1.5 yrs...my hair was good...I stopped using monoxidil n after 2 months had drastic shedding n most of my gains r gone....I have restarted minoxidil, will I get the same gains back?
I hope you get the regrowth results you previously achieved, which I’m sure you will as it worked well for you before. What is the PRP treatment process if you don’t mind me asking?
Damn im only 17 I can see wayy too much of my scalp and my bangs are thin asf I'm on antidepressants and I'm kinda stressed so that's probably it, but I'm close to shaving my head
Wouldn’t it depend on if you need to take thyroxine ( which you normally produce ) as some babies are even born without a thyroid or if it’s overactive and you take either Neo Mercazole or propythiouracil to block too much thyroxine.
I have one important question is that when someone get a hair transplant those transplanted hairs stay there for life time or they get weaker or fall down by time or maybe you have to take finasteride to keep them for life time ? you guys are doing really great job by making these videos. thanks and happy new year.
Generally, transplanted hairs (if taken form the correct area) will remain. Finasteride has little effect on those, it is generally there to help the other hairs on the upper part of the scalp.
With monat my friend and my father-in-law are having hair again, and my wife grew hair on the sides of her forehead where she was bald before, this is the maximum.
