I do get a kick out of Americans, especially a Floridian(?) Using milimetres instead of fractions of an inch. It makes a lot more sense for something as fine as .03 and .05 and as an Australian, makes it a lot easier to visualize. Great work as always, Curtis, you're killing it.
@unfortunateobserver1244

Wait, I stand corrected. "Thickness of three condoms" is a far far far better way to describe how durable a .03 poly hairline would be. Use this phrase as often as you possibly can. It is utter genius.

HairExperience Absolutely 👍 This is the first time I’ve ever seen an explanation as to the categorical differences between each of the systems, especially aesthetically as you pinpointed where each system places overall when it comes to longevity and how realistic it actually looks. Because of this, I now know which system, if and when I do decide to at least try this option, will work for me which will come down to poly or lace. I just think a system that doesn’t provide the most realistic hairline possible basically defeats the purpose of a system. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with this opinion or they are unfortunately, simply ignorant as to the high quality systems out there that are far more realistic looking than the system they are presently wearing. This results in giving other men the false impression that ALL systems look obvious and unrealistic (example: Political analyst, college professor, and RU-vid Bret Weinstein. I so badly want to reach out to him in private and provide him with some sources to help him find a much more realistic system than the one he’s sporting now.) But I digress. Thanks again Curtis! You are one of if not THE only social media influencer (although I’m not to found of that label) who is actually educating men on this niche subject and helping many of them with hope and solutions, men who likely thought that they had no real solutions which would force them to have to shave their heads which, let’s be honest, often isn’t the best look for most men. Although your intentions are simply to help men, you’re well way to cornering this niche market. Keep it up 👍

Great stuff as usual! Hey quick question, on a old system you were getting ready to replace, have you ever experimented with different haircuts and hairstyles? Like for example, I would love to see what a short, messy/choppy look would look like but too scared to do it myself lol. But if you know you are going to put a new unit on that day anyway and have nothing to lose, a good video would be doing a completely different hair style just to see what it looks like. Nothing to lose since you are going to trash that unit anyway and replace it with a new one
@HairExperience

I have totally thought about that!! Only issue is I normally ride my units until the wheels fall off!! So ive always been concerned doing it and it looking like crap. What I think im gonna do on this one is do it earlier and do a video on it!! Love your videos by the way!!!!

Realism vs. longevity is an issue with full-head units (wigs), too and it's taken the better part of a decade accumulating knowledge. Your presentation nails it, very well constructed, presented and you certainly know your topic. A great upload, much needed and I think will clarify what is an incredibly fact-dense topic. Steven, no it doesnt. Its just rough on the adhesives. The only effect that will have on the unit is that it needs to be removed and cleaned more often. Which in effect will wear on the unit more from the more frequent cleaning process

An incredibly complex situation brilliantly broken down and explained; hair replacement is a thing, that's for sure. I've worn a fully hand tied unit for over 10-years and am still learning stuff, it can be an ongoing experience and you're to be commended for how you simplify what is essentially a complicated realm of cosmetic hair replacement. I hope these guys appreciate just how fortunate they are to have your back catalogue to reference, there are indeed gems of wisdom there to be had for those who are motivated to undertake research - more strength to you, Curtis. Is it hard to maintain
@vascoemyer
@vascoemyer 4 года назад
@@cyberrunner6529 I use a different type of hair replacement system and the one I've chosen isn't so much difficult to maintain moreover it's requires a significant dedication and investment of my time. But that's my choice - I want a realistically natural appearance and to achieve that with what is essentially a very artificial methodology and product is going to require significant maintenance and financial investment. Sometimes, I do get over it and think that's it, I'm getting rid of my hair but it looks so good, makes me feel so happy I inevitably persevere with the demands of maintaining a synthetic, fully hand-tied wig. Cancer took my hair, I missed it and for over a decade I researched my available choices and settled on a system that works well for me. I guess it comes down to, how important is it to an individual to attempt a good quality hair replacement system whichever type that may be and deciding whether it's worth the investment of time required to educate oneself in its maintenance. If it's sufficiently important then of course, go for it - if not, accept baldness and learn to love lack of hair. There is no better or worse, only what makes one feel happy 😎 but in any event I can assure you hand on heart, this gentleman's product is exceptional value for money and his knowledge base, integrity and customer service is second to none. You are in very professional and honest care dealing with Curtis and if I every switch to a glue-on system his is certainly the one I'll invest my time and money.

@@vascoemyer what if I don.t expose hair line and use tape then will it be easy
@vascoemyer
@vascoemyer 4 года назад
@@cyberrunner6529 Thank you for the question, I don't wear a replacement unit like Curtis but a hand-tied, full cap synthetic fibre wig. But I do understand how Curtis' method works as there are many cross over similarities as far fixing a unit - and a wig - in place. If I understand your question, you wear what is essentially a 'topper' unit that is either glued or taped into place? Assuming I'm on the right track, you're considering a fringe or similar so your hairline won't be exposed but what I don't understand is what will be easy? If you use glue, you need to prime your scalp prior to using glue so the surface is free of debris and produces a bubble-free and natural appearing hairline. If you use tape then you're not going to get as secure a fit than if you used glue - however - I can't really provide an accurate response because I don't quite understand exactly what you mean when you write: "... then will it be easy". I know with Curtis' system there is the option to go tape only and not use glue; any substance - tape, glue whatever - is going to have an effect on the base material any unit's fibres are sewn into. There'll be a build up of residue and this will need to be cleaned. I think with tape and I've used tape in the past when I was still learning about wearing hair, there was a slight build up of residue from where I'd positioned the tape on my head especially during humid weather conditions - that is, at my nape to stop the cap from riding up and along where my hairline was positioned. But the only reason I used tape with a wig was because I'd purchased a unit that was too small for my head. So I think that exemplifies for you there are shared experiences by system and full-cap wearers therefore I watch Curtis and continue to learn a lot of stuff and a lot of Curtis' knowledge and experience reinforces aspects of wearing hair I've already learned during a decade-plus of wearing synthetic hair. Sorry if that doesn't really answer your question; I'm happy to elaborate but you'll need to be more specific and keep in mind my frame of reference is different from a hair replacement system wearer because I wear a conventional, full-cap hand tied wig.

Sir, I teach everything I can to help. Value my opinion or not. Doesn’t matter to me. This is a public venue. All I can do is pass information I’ve learned. I’m not a boxer and have never tried what you did. And I would have told you that. And for me saying that boxing you will be fine. There is no doubt in my mind I DID NOT say that. What I would have said is “with the right bond/tape for your body chem, it should be fine” But you will need to test this first. I’m never one to say “Oh yeah, F it, Do it”.
