Yea, her hair was gorgeous. But no need to kill, babe. Use oils and masks religiously instead lol. Use lots of heat protectants, get oil treatments you put in your hair 30mins prior to every wash (check Indonesian, Korean, Japanese brands for some good ones that don’t break the bank), apply moisturizing products after you do wash (natural oils that do well on the hair paired with leave-in hydration boosting creams/conditioners), don’t over wash the hair, try not to blow dry or use a lot of heating tools … air dry and heatless curls if possible. You can turn any damaged hair into something really shiny after a couple months of care. Trust me. I’ve got long hair down to my waist. It’s virgin and real fine (prone to tatting) … but there is still split ends and damage (I’ve cut 7” off recently but need to cut more to be totally “healthy”), but when I use oils and masks, I can run my hands through it without any knotting and have a lot of shine that doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it appear oily/greasy. Like silk with the way lighting hits it. When I don’t use them after a few days, I can tell a major difference. It begins to look dull and flat. Whether curly, wavy, straight, thick, fine, virgin, bleached, colored, heavily damaged … oils and masks will do wonders with consistency, which is key. Can’t undo damaged hair unless you cut it, but you can help make it appear a lot better.

For real. Long hair is so annoying and gets tangled in everything! I go to the gym a lot it would get caught in the bars and it just got annoying.

I'm glad the stylist did what she thought was best for you, that's really sweet. I'm planning on growing it waist length, and then I might chop it off after I enjoy it for a while. Currently it's a teeny bit below bra-line.

I have done that twice. When I was pregnant, I had it to my waist. Cut it to my shoulders and didn't tell anyone. Sent out our Christmas cards and 2 days later my phone was blowing up. "Where is your hair?" "omg! You cut your hair!" Was pretty funny. That and my clients freaking out(I'm a hairdresser).

I got 9 or more inches cut off when I was 13. Went into a pixie cut the first time. Loved it. I felt so free and the heat from my hair disappeared. I have extremely thick hair and it’s black, so it just soaked in so much heat in the sun that it feels like your putting your hand on a stove burner when touched. Never went back to long hair and I’m still doing pixie cuts. Love it
