Thanks for the feedback, Phillip! Guys, if anyone wants to try the plugin, welcome to our website for a two-week trial. We have now also released plugins for Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Nicely done, we seem to obsess about these nuances then upload to youTube and it kills all the work and detail that you put into it. That's why I just use the OFX for grain and halation that comes with Resolve, because we tend to worry about something that most people will never see. We can see the difference having the effect has but the nuance between Resolve grain and something really expensive like live grain, in my opinion is not worth the effort or the expense. But just adding grain for people that have banding or small noise problems or just want a grungier look and less TV video, then the Resolve OFX is plenty.
Definitely. And the performance penalty is so much less than Dehancer, which is an absolute system destroyer. I love Dehancer, but it's overkill for me and anyone doing web stuff
You can just add the Halation effect in Resolve color page and turn the sliders down on the halation and dyer layer reflections so they don't have any effect then use the secondary glow--which is the bloom. Alternatively, you can use the "Glow" plugin but there are a lot of parameters in that plugin so I'd recommend looking for a tutorial on that if you don't have time to experiment
@@ikbo Halation is in the manual, maybe make sure you have the Resolve 18 version. It starts on page 3357. There are so many instances of "glow" mentioned in the manual that I'm not sure where to point you to but I can recommend Waqas Qazi's channel. He does a lot with that effect. Maybe just search his channel for "glow"
@@PhillipRPeck Thanks again! I realized the reason I wasn't getting text match on halation when I searched the reference pdf was become chrome initially shows no match but then updates a few seconds later showing matches. 🤪 Must be because the pdf is so big or something
