He would have done it anywhere, he just needed an excuse to get rid of him so he took the « you tried to kill me first » shot

He humiliated Keith every chance he gets. He made Debby life an hell, abandoned Lucas, then he killed Keith and after prison tried to get money off it with his TV show.... wtf?! . Dan spent almost all his life being a Freaking Asshole and then suddenly because he spent few months trying to be good he's redeemed?! He may have been in this direction but he was far from it in my opinion
@@jadefo2433 you do not understand. yes he cheated on Karen but he wanted to be present for lucas and it was she who didn't want to. karen agreed that keith was there for lucas that's why he and dan don't get along. dan wanted to help karen and lucas but she didn't want to. And in addition Keith and Deb tried to kill him burned alive but it does not matter, it is less worse than with a weapon. i'm proud he killed keith that's what he deserved. You can see during the shiw he truly loves Lucas and Nathan, he is not a monster but karen makes him act like. (Sorry if my english is terrible)
@@bigtonyrdgs682 Dan wanting to help Karen sounds good on paper, but this is Dan Scott we're talking about. In the early seasons he was always a jackass so if Karen allowed him in Lucas life we wouldn't have the Lucas that we know and love in those early seasons but instead something similar to what we got in the alternate universe episode. Plus he and Nathan probably still hate each other due to Dan having the two of them working against each other on the court all the time. Making 0 effort to be a real father to either, and neither one would hardly ever see their mothers or their Uncle Keith. Yeah...I don't think I'd want to see that play out.
Likes&Favorites nope. Sorry but he was an ass for years and killed someone. Season 4 doesn’t mean shit and none of the rest does either. He killed his brother and tried to kill his own teenage son. That is all kinds of unforgivable. Hell even in season 4 when Nathan came to him for help he basically spit in his face.

@@boomds5602 season 4 he was also busy making everyone think jimmy killed Keith until the last two episodes of that season when he finally fessed up and turned himself in. He didn’t redeem himself until season 5 when he got out of jail and even then I didn’t trust him 100%, but I did like his relationship he had with Jamie. But also even though he was trying to become a better person I could see why Nathan Haley and everyone else didn’t just forgive him. He was a terrible father to both of his sons, as one son he abandoned and the other son he raised he was pretty much a bully to. Lucas and Karen could never forgive him after making them think for the longest time that jimmy killed Keith.
That lady should mind her own damn hell business and Haley did the right thing by stand up for dan. Jamie doesn't care who his grandpa is he just loves him for who he is.
To be far though, I got the feeling that this was a woman who didn't really even KNOW the core group or Keith so I Think Hayley may have been pissed off about THAT as well.
Selene Rodriguez Because we watched Dan grow, we don't understand how someone could judge him so harshly. But some people like customers don't know him and only see him as a murderer. But the lady shouldn't have acted that way and should have left quietly.
All the characters on this show is amazing but the one character that made me feel so many things so Dan. I went from hating him to feeling bad for him, to hating him again and when I went back to feeling bad, I was always suspicious he would do something bad again... Although the Dan was a very bad man because of what he did, I'm glad we saw some good in him before he left...

Dan was a very evil and cruel man. But he at least tried to make amends. Even though he knew not everyone would forgive or ever forget. He still tried quite hard. He didn't stay a monster and that's better than nothing. Never thought I'd ever like Dan but I did at the end.
i think Haley is the reason why i started liking Dan because if she could see him in a different light and accept and love him and also forgive for her children. She has the purest heart and i can see this is who she is in real life

My heart always broke for dan even when he was being a jackass I always knew he had a good heart he was just lost idk maybe more so because of he and Jaimie’s relationship if he couldn’t do nothing right one thing about him is he loves his grandkids at the end of the day 💯💯

Dan in my opinion was never a bad guy or evil he was just deeply misunderstood and filled regret and anger. Jamie did something no one knew was possible he saved Dan Scott he saw the good in him and helped him get redemption.
@@Russophile30 Nathan can choose to forgive Dan if that feels right. But that doesn't absolve nor undo the fact that he robbed Lily and Lucas of their father. Not all of Dan's many victims had to forgive him.

Dan really changed in season 5 and he killed Keith thinking he tried to kill him first. If only Dan did something else other than kill Keith maybe put Keith in a coma. Him and Keith could have been feuding for awhile and then became brothers like nate and Luke. Would have been different see Keith go to the dark side.
Not gonna lie watching this season and seeing those burgers made me crave some homemade burgers they must have been bussing in that show chris keller was absolutely devouring those burgers made me want a burger and not a mcdonalds burger that's for damn sure
I now and always will hate Dan Scott. Not only did he murder his brother and Lucas' Uncle/to be adoptive father, he let a (technically) innocent highschooler who killed himself, take the blame. Even profited off the murder by having his own TV show based on his "redemption". Pfft. Wish they wrote him out back in season 4 I couldn't bare watching him on screen.
Yes! It’s disgusting how they tried to make it out like him being a cold blooded murderer on top of everything else was somehow redeemable to the point of letting him back in and being a part of their happy little family. Sick! They made those characters priorities and moral standards all twisted around.

This season one tree hill had me anxiety all the way through the season for so many many reasons, but specially because Nathan was missing yeah, Dan definitely redeem himself then made me hike him😢
I just looked at some younger pics of Paul Johansson (Dan) and he probably could've been a superman he kinda has that Clark Kent/Superman look to me lol.
And people wonder why felons have issues reintegrating back into normal society. Look I'm not saying that what Dan wasn't bad (he should've gotten a longer sentence honestly and I kind of hated them giving him a redemption arch) but still. Some (most) people make it hard for felons to make it in the real world, like you can't live in certain apartments, can't have certain jobs, etc. Some just end up homeless, jobless, etc. That's why I love Haley, she just always does the right thing no matter the consequences even when said person hurt her in the past.
It’s sad that the strangers have more sense than Haley does. Dan murdered his brother, a good person who many people including his family loved in cold blood and hid it and wormed his way into their lives afterward all out of some sick selfishness and revenge. And then you let him back into your life and around your children and friends? That’s sick. And I know this show is soap operatic and dramatic, but that’s over the top on trying to normalize and sympathize with something and someone so utterly messed up. It’s a big part of the reason I’ll probably never finish watching this show. This is extremely problematic!
Nobody's perfect. So your own sins are a different breed then violence. All sins are still sins. I believe if we refuse to forgive others.. that will eventually come back to us when it's time for others to forgive us.

You can forgive someone if you feel like you need to and also let them go and not have them in your life anymore.
@@rebecaa7482 I would agree with you if Dan kept on killing, but he didn't. they didn't normalize killing, that would be shows like The Vampire Diaries, Dexter and so on. In this show, Dan killed Keith, regretted it and turned himself in. He did the time and spent the rest of the show trying to change. He has been suffering the consequences of his actions, that's the difference. He also proved time and time again that he wasn't a threat to Jamie by saving his life and in the end he sacrificed himself to save Nathan. So yes, Dan did a horrible thing and that is never going to change but he clearly is not the same person who murdered his brother.

If someone murders even one person in cold blood that means there's something seriously wrong and broken inside of them and you'll forever have to worry about them doing it again. And the fact that they took an innocent life should never be forgotten anyway. Also in this show Dan let a teenager who committed suicide take the fall for murdering Keith and hid it for a long time well intruding on Lucas's life by trying to get closer to him and his mom. So he's not so innocent and remorseful actually. And shows like The Vampire Diaries and Dexter don't normalize killing at all. TVD is clearly a paranormal fantasy show about vampires and other magical creatures dealing with each other and killing each other, so it's blatantly showing how not normal it is. And Dexter is clearly someone who has serious mental problems and therefore kills people, so that shows that he's not normal either so neither is his killing people. The comparison you're trying to make just doesn't equate. And just because he might have a select few people he won't hurt doesn't make him any less of a cold blooded murderer and horrible person still. Many murderers and even serial killers throughout history had people close to them who they didn't hurt. Does that make them any better of people? No, absolutely not. Dan very clearly is the same person who murdered Keith. And once someone murders someone like that they should never be let out into society again. Both out of justice for the victim and for the sake of the public.
@@natalieybarra5207 I agree he felt bad and he did do his best but… he didn’t “kill Keith, feel bad and turn himself in.” He only turned himself in because Lucas found out the truth and told Karen (and Deb). He terrorized Abby and her mother until they left town; he ignored Lucas for 16 years and emotionally abused Nathan and Deb. When Nathan went to him for help with money he didn’t just refuse, he was evil. It was only when he thought Nathan killed somebody that he jumped in to help. My point is Dan did plenty of horrible things both before and after he killed Keith. He did some good selfless things too. Keith apparently thought it valences out in the end, as did Nathan and Hailey. Lucas and Karen didn’t agree. Which was their choice. You can apologize to someone but you can’t force them to accept
I dunno though Lucas loves Haley and would not judge her for doing this even if he disagrees with it. Lucas didn’t even hate dan for killing Keith more it broke his heart because he actually wanted dan to be his dad

Dan paid his price to society and while no one has to forgive him, anyone choosing to do so has that right. Questioning Hayley’s parenting skills or her decision to allow Dan to cook, something completely innocent, was unnecessary. If she was uncomfortable she could’ve left, no one forced her to eat there.
The writers sure loved kicking Dan over and over. I thought this little job was great for him. Could have let him keep working there with a little place to stay in the back.
