@@JacobVonRoker If it was anything like Cosmic Ghost Rider absolutely, if not it would still be damned entertaining to watch him do the flump with the funky bunch
I won tickets to Ghost Rider 2 from my college radio station. I went with my buddy to the midnight showing and only agreed to go if we could trip mushrooms. When we got to the theater, we realized it was in 3D and were thrilled. We laughed our asses off the entire time. Literally through the entire movie. Fortunately the theater was completely empty. I regard it as my favorite movie theater experience to date.
My favorite film experience was watching Mad Max Fury Road on a Greyhound bus uninterrupted. The rumble of the road made it like my own personal Imax theatre.
I thought there was a big Akira influence on Chronicle. There's even a scene where the kid is an hospital gown and bandages and all the windows for a city block break.
you know how we have an entire genre of stoner movies fueled by weed? I'm pretty sure Ghost Rider II was entirely fueled by cocaine. That transformation scene was just Nic Cage doing blow in front of a green screen.
+kindaawkwardbro Landis called RLM out for this, so they called him out on American Ultra. Now Landis is a guest star and they are sitting around talking as friends in the latest episode. Too bad he never mentions the tweets about this.
Jooooger "so they called him out on American Ultra" No, they gave the movie a fair review. There was a lot wrong with it that had nothing to do with Landis. You can write the best script ever but if the directors, producers, cast, etc. don't pull it off well then the movie will be bad.
+Battam Watch the review for american ultra. They make fun of his tweets, and don't like his movie. The conversation and botw episode were uploaded a week or so ago.
+Creamy Goodness Crunch yeah, i have no idea what he was thinking. i think he's honestly just looking for a reason to hate them. he claimed this review was "snobby" and that they thought it was "the lowest possible standard of a good movie". if he got that impression just because they didn't think it was 100% perfect in every way, he really needs to learn to take criticism better, because they obviously enjoyed the movie and thought it was well written and well told.
Wow I thought you were joking, but no, he really was acting like an ass there. The review is really positive. But hey, that was then, this is now, maybe he changed as a person
Fun fact: Nicolas Cage bought a Tyrannosaur fossil at an auction, which ended up getting confiscated because it was poached. Luckily it ended up being returned to Mongolia where it belongs. Still, the guy is crazy.
I just realized that the comic books fan from some of their episodes is the guy playing Plincket . To use the words of the great Forest Gump : "I'm not a smart man"
I worked in Psychiatric Nursing in the 1990's. If a patient was on Suicidal Precautions, we had to be within arms reach of the patient at all times even in the Bathroom. That's something that you don't see on ER
Most Half in the Bag Videos have aged pretty well but the one camera used in this video for showing both mike and jay made me double check if this originally came out in 2008 lol
Thinking back on it, Ghost Rider: SoV is kinda neat actually. IMO there is still great potential in Ghost Rider, just let them go crazy with it and make it rated R.
People hated it for the wrong reasons, this movie was intentionally wacky and trashy, its very stylish and felt like directors enjoying what they do except they were also held back and forced to nerf their work to pg13 standards, I want more of this actually.
Marvel Knights in the comics are the more dark and gritty heroes/underdogs of Marvel.Electra,Punisher,Daredevil,Blade and Ghost Rider fall in this category.
Hopefully, the fact that R-rated superhero movies are a thing now means we can get a Ghost Rider movie where the director can use a cool character design like that and do some bat-shit crazy stuff with it. Give me some flaming chain whip decapitations, dammit!
The thing about the camera in the hospital room is that, at that point in the movie, the authorities have some strong evidence of the powers the kid has, so it makes sense that they would add a camera for security... in any case they should have something more than a camera xD
Marvel Knights was an imprint within Marvel Comics around 2000. Titles like The Punisher, Daredevil, Ghost Rider. Jessica Jones had titles published under it.
22:30 ok, i admit i watched maybe half of the first act, and i remember that scene and thought "this is so ridiculous, i could love it" but then i saw the next 15 minutes and i started thinking "oh i think this sucks now", but seeing that makes me wanna give it a real watch, and see Crank 1+2
The story of chronicle i just realized becomes considerably more interesting if in your head you replace "telekinesis" with say a gun. Besides the 1 guy they use it recreationally, for fun and not hurting people (exclude the prank scenes) but the one whose been abused all his life and is mentally unstable starts wanting to take out his anger using it. In the end he goes on a killing spree, but his friends kill him, turning what for the rest of them was a fun activity into a weapon to kill, just as their friend had, showing that something can be used recreationally for fun can easily be turned on others. Looking at the story of chronicle now this way (which randomly popped into my head in a moment of clarity) kind of makes it more interesting to me (Note: no im not against guns. Im all for them, for recreational use and self defense and so on. And i dont know if chronicle was meant to be an allegory for it, but to me at least it has made the film somewhat more interesting)
ttv0 Josh Trank based Fantastic 4 largely on many aspects of whats called Body Horror. go look up how in depth people get with body horror and then explain to me how far out of the way my theory is.
Lol! I had to see if anyone else has commented on this. They reference Evil Knievel, then flash late 70s Freddie at the peak of his mustache powers. My mind skipped for a moment.
Crank High Voltage is one of the Best Movies ever made. But I liked the new movie Underwater too for it's Simplicity and possible realism. There have to be monsters down there. I'm not going into the ocean at shore level, a hark will beach itself trying to eat you, killer whales and octopuses are good at it, and the deeper you go into the ocean the more alien and monstrous the fucking creatures get. SO you know whatever is down there is gonna fuck us up if we mess around down there. Perfect movie.
well actually, marvel knights is a division of marvel that focuses on the much more violent, much more mature, much more darker characters of marvel, not a b division
Technically speaking, the current marvel movies are the B movies if not C. Excluding guardians of the galaxy, who are more D list (prior to the films making them suddenly A and B list)
Actually Marvel Knights was a comics label where they outsourced some of their B-characters to a different company without it being technically in the main universe.
Cronicle reminded you of the Star Wars prequels? I've heard people say it reminded them of Cop Dog. Personally it reminded me of Baby's Day Out review.
Nic cage is one of the best actors alive. His unconventional and unforgiving method of acting is respectable, the man has so much knowledge of film that it’s great. Nic is a great guy, and I’ll always take his excitement over under acting and moping.
It's really sad that the director of chronicle got scooped up big companies and made to make shitty movies fueled by money. I think given a chance he could have made some pretty interesting little movies.
Ghost Rider and Punisher would've done better if they were called Ghost Rider-Man or Punisher-Man. People really like -Man to be at the end of their superhero movies.
