RIP Tommy Lasorda. He was an icon and he was the Dodgers. Anytime you thought of the Dodgers of years past, you thought of Tommy Lasorda and you thought of vin scully. It was good that he was still alive long enough to see the Dodgers 32 year long world series drought finally come to an end. Let's win another one this year in 2021 for Tommy Lasorda. We learned a lot from you over the years and we will miss you. RIP 😔⚰

Tommy Lasorda was one of those few baseball pros that were so BIG to me as a young man that I never thought the day would ever come that he would die... and I was right... he will NEVER DIE in my mind & heart. Rest in peace Mr. Lasorda. You have served the Dodgers and their fans well!

Sad. First, Vin Scully’s lovely wife, and now Tommy. It’s a sad time in Dodger Town. May they both Rest In Peace. My condolences and prayers go out to both families, friends, and all the millions of fans.

Words can't describe my emotions right now! I was able to watch you win the WS against the A's when I was 8! And I'm happy you got to see the Dodgers win the WS before your passing. I will always remember seeing you at candlestick park smiling waving and blowing kisses at Dodger fans and especially at giants fans! It was hilarious seeing their reactions! Tommy you will always be a legend in my eyes and every Dodger fan all over the world! R.I.P Tommy! You will be missed! @/tommylasorda @/dodgerbaseball⚾️💙@/dodgers1988 @/vinscully @/bleedblue💙 @/ilovela

My Tommy LAsorda story: I had been to Dodger Stadium several times and actually shook hands with Tommy twice in those visits. This game I went to in the early 90s (maybe 1991?), I had sweet seats right behind home plate on the Dodger dugout side. I actually got to see Tommy argue with the umpires and IT WAS GLORIOUS! I remember it was a call at 2nd base, Dodger player called out on a steal (?) I think. Tommy came out of the dugout slowly, as he emerged, the crowd all around me started yelling "get him Tommy!". He walked out to 2nd base and started his dialogue with the ump. With each response between the 2, Tommy would become more animated. Pointing and waving furiously as they both went at each other face to face. After what seemed like hrs and hrs, the ump finally started to walk away out to right field, the other umps held Tommy back from following their partner ump. Tommy finally turned and started walking away, as slowly as he had gone out, and as he approached the dugout, the entire 3rd base side of fans gave him a standing ovation. Of course Tommy smiled to all of us and waved his hat to the entire stadium. All any of the fans around me could say was "damn that was awesome!". I will never forget his smile that night and will always be proud of his fire and the emotions he put into any game he was involved with. He was a winner and will be missed forever by all of baseball.

My favorite Tommy Lasorda story is: In the 80's, Steve Sax was an outstanding 2nd baseman for the Dodgers. But he developed a case of the yips, where any routine throw to first base was a crap shoot, whether it would be thrown accurately. Pedro Guerrero was an outstanding player as well, but not a great 3rd baseman. One day, Tommy was yelling at the team, and said "Does anyone on this team think?" Pedro raised his hand and said, "I think about 2 things." Tommy said "What's the 1st thing?" Pedro says "I hope they don't hit the ball to me." After the laughter died down, Tommy asked "What's the 2nd thing?" Pedro says "I hope they don't hit the ball to Sax."
