Hallelujah Jeff Buckley Well I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] Baby I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know) I used to live alone before I knew you And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4]…
I think I am going to have to agree with you, I love this song when it is done well, I have a couple versions that are incredible, this could really be one of the best versions ever if not the best, the feeling you get from her version which is unique is wonderfully inspireing
Beautiful! And the accompaniment - the artful guitar work, the gentle rocking rhythm, it all work together to bring a feeling of peace and calm. At the end she smiles. She knows she nailed it in this take.
Revisiting this cover after 7 years and it still hits me hard. 7 years, seven fucking years, time flies so fast. I was soo young when I first saw this video, now you must also have grown with the passage of time. Watching this video again today made me feel young. May God bless you 🍀
As one of her 7th grade teachers, I can tell you she doesn't need any technical help to sound fantastic. She did this song for our talent show and it was amazing. So incredibly glad I get to hear her sing on youtube
