This really did feel more like a Corey Cunningham movie than a Michael one. We spend way more time with him. All the men in Haddonfield and Allyson chooses to date a guy who killed a kid.
I've met James Jude Courtney and we chatted about the Halloween movies. I find it VERY difficult to believe that he agrees with the direction these idiots took with this movie.
This is not a Halloween film. You are right. Their interest in social commentary has no place in Halloween movies. Your right. They made Myers a big sissy.. They disrespected all hardcore Halloween fans.
Thank God someone is giving a realistic review! It is terrible!! There is no way as a stand alone this movie would still be worse than steamy dog biscuits
Couldn’t agree more also writing i’m so sick of underneath stories and reasonings in a woman’s rights on women being powerful should be a horror movie a slasher with the story with good dialogue and with hunting scenes stocking like 1978 what are the most scariest things about that movie is the stocking, and being in every corner watching the piano keys its not that hard and I don’t hate ends. I wish they took in true Halloween fans to help out
Dude they combined Christine, The Dead Zone, Natural Born Killers, Silver Bullet and Stand by Me all in one (the last two because the voiceover from the "author" during the film). It was a freaking Stephen king tribute! And I was done when he shoved Michael around like some angry old folks home and just takes his mask and walks off. Making Michael follow him around like a dog.... What a disgrace to the character. The main freaking character!
This is the first film I have ever walked out of before the credits rolled and demanded a refund for. As soon as I saw what was about to be done to The Shape with the grinder, I was done. This was disrespectful to the character of Michael Myers, and to the Halloween franchise as a whole. I thank God that this is the last Halloween Blumhouse will do. Have a film studio that is more respectful to the fans and mythos take the idea that Danielle Harris had for a sequel to H4 and 5 and make it so the franchise isn't tainted by this as a final installment. And a sidenote, if this is what Green and Blumhouse did with Halloween, they are absolutely going to eviscerate The Exorcist with their reboot coming next year.
Agreed and suspect the bad taste from ends will hurt the box office of Exorcist so a bad move as DGG is now in Ryan Johnson territory which is fine for other genres but really bad for his horror career. A shame as I do really like 18 and kills. Ends left me feeling like I did when I saw Jurassic park 3 and Die hard 5. I do think Ends could have been a good standalone without Michael having a part to play.
They did such an amazing job in 2018 getting this franchise back on track in a huge way and just did all that for nothing. It’s like we are back to square 1 again similar to Zombies version.
You were right, i had hope that maybe this movie would be good but nope… they made Michael look like a pussy in this movie. This is probably the worst Halloween movie ive ever seen
Your reviews always gives me a chuckle. I watched Halloween Ends in 4DX last Thursday and I liked it but didn't love it. The Corey storyline should have been introduce for a latter reboot and not to end this trilogy off. This film should have been focused on an epic final confrontation between Laurie and Michael Myers.
Everyday horror you are absolutely right! I thought Halloween Kills was bad until I saw this one! The opening of Halloween Ends was probably the only thing that was decent. And what that did to Michael Myers was disrespectful and goes beyond what Halloween films are all about. It’s time to let this franchise rest!
Well man, you were right. I remember you calling this a while ago. David Gordon gave me bad vibes the minute he started talking like he was still trying to find his way as a director. I heard they humiliated Micheal Myers worse than part 5. They said he gets pushed around like a weakling and isn't in the film for long at all. I can't forgive David Gordon green for this, even Jamie Lee is somewhat at fault imo.
What is it with the current trend of dumping on legacy characters. Am I just paranoid or is Hollywood trying to upset me on purpose? They love to divide the fans too.
@@AllOuttaBubblegum123 yeah, the inconsistencies in the films, and going in different directions and the youtube reactions are just ways to keep the masses fighting. Elite does it with everything.
it is a weird argument when people say "you wanted different, you got different" yes we wanted different, we wanted a clever and entertaining new direction. this was different, but neither clever nor entertaining. there is an endless possibilities of different routes they could have took, and the particular different route they took was not a good one.
Imo Halloween 2018 was the last film. *it was a good revival and it was a good sequel to Halloween 78. It had the perfect finale.* Mikey had 1 last killing spree and Laurie finally faced her nemesis and won. And Mikey burning to death in a badass (setpiece) death trap build by Laurie was the way to go.
The sheriff still has zero purpose! They wasted that character big time! I was hoping his hat was a tip off he would be part of the cult of thorn or something. Nope he has one line and done. Garbage isn't even bad enough to describe how much this movie sucks. Do not waste your money and time trust me.
@@EverydayHorror and come to think of it, now we will never know what happened between Michael and Lindsay in the park. How was she the only one to survive get into it with Michael and then be hurt but not hurt enough to reminisce about when she was a kid with Anthony Michael looking like he swallowed a ball? I hoped maybe it'd be Lindsay helping Michael something anything!
I hated the Cory and Alice “relationship.” It moved way too fast, and she was all over him to the point to where it was unbelievable. I know, “We both experienced traumatic experiences, we’re the same.” But why couldn’t they just be friends? Or maybe it would’ve been better if they started out as a couple from the beginning (and they’ve been working through his trauma this whole time). And on a side note, why was her ex a middle aged cop? Even the cops at his table were all middle aged. I know it didn’t add or hurt the story, but it just rubbed me the wrong way lol
So, believe it or not. I have never seen any Halloween movies from the franchise. UNTIL last night. I went to see Ends with my buddy’s gf . He passed away unexpectedly early September. I went with her in honor of Brad. Well, I laughed so hard through most of it. Lol! So, now I can relate to this video. 😂😂😂😂
@@EverydayHorror , thank you! He loved scary movies so I went for him. Though the movie sucked, it was funny so it made my night! Some dumb kid ssshhh’d me and I laughed even louder! 😂
Jamie Lee Curtis had full control over the Halloween 2018 Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends with all the WOKE crap and Halloween Ends is a FLOP. John Carpenter Jamie Lee Curtis and etc ruined the Halloween franchise and that is why I will always consider Michael Myers and Laurie Stroud as Brother and Sister and Halloween 1 1978 and Halloween 2 1981 are my all time top two favorites and best in the Halloween franchise. 🎃🧡
Absolutely Halloween Ends ruined the franchise. The only jump scre was the balcony scene in the beginning and Michael was treated like a punk. I was so disappointed to have this as the legacy of the "end".
I feel like the creative writers need to be fired. These are people who hold degrees? Lol 😂. Just don’t make sense. I wanted her character to either go back to an asylum for killing the wrong Michael because it would’ve been Corey or they should’ve killed her character because we don’t need anymore Laurie Strode no more.
And that’s how they kill the booogieman. By making us disgusted with the movie that fans turn their backs. I’m 41 and remember being a kid watching Myers and being scared shitless. This movie broke my heart.
Seems like they even bother to explain if Michael is supernatural... And how he survived all those serious and critical injuries and inhaling all that deadly toxic smoke from the fire.
@Shawn Cook its the opposite. he was an unknown force and now in the last movie of the timeline they say "oh he's like a battery that has to be charged up". if not killing weakens him then the 40 years in the nuthouse without killing shouldve made it impossible for him to break out by killing a bus full of people. different is fine but completely contradicting what you did in the last movies is stupid. keep in mind the previous inconsistencies were because of different directors like part 6 had to figure out what to do because of the crazy shit the director and writers did with part 5. this trilogy was the same people all along.
1 time watch and I’m good - this movie doesn’t even exist to me …. So Laurie is so hell bent on being ready from the 78 incident, HALLOWEEN and Halloween kills but then Michael kills her daughter and suddenly she’s - let it go - Michael is still out there but I’m gonna move on and live life after he stabbed her to death …. WTH!?? So Michael is now just some regular guy in a suit now but prior flim - kills- he took out an entire crew of firemen, later got beat down by an entire mob of people with weapons and beat and killed them all….. but in HALLOWEEN ends he gets overtaken by Corey ? Wth So Corey that whole story of Corey went nowhere, he was a kid afraid of being in an attic, accidentally killed kid , wasn’t a bad dude but same guy became a murderer ? Broken glasses and he could see fine, afraid of an attic but can go alone into a sewer tunnel ?!!! It was hard to watch …. The true horror in this horror movie was that it was made and the script was green lit ….
They made Michael Myers look like a wuss and I never thought I'd say that but how in the world can a geeky dude like Corey whoop the big man's ass in a wrestling match? Nah Michael was a force to be reckon with.
Agreed, this movie was horrible. Imagine Screech on a killing spree with an elderly MM who needs assistance in killing off his victims. Good riddance JLC and Blumhouse.
Bro you've been saying all along how this movie was going to be the worst in the franchise and it has finally been confirmed! I've read many reviews and all of them are bad but of course the Fanboys try to give it Grace! I couldn't believe that Jimmy champagne along with Lee tried to say that this movie was divisive and that they did like it! I'm currently waiting for reviews from Dave McRae and two dudes from a movie! I heard a review from critical overlord but I found his review to be very diplomatic as opposed to coming out and just saying that the movie is garbage! I knew that the movie was going to be garbage from the plot, the TV spots and the photos
People r just whiners, it’s only because the evil dies tonight line being the only true reason…it’s a good Halloween sequel the flashbacks, kills and score were superb
THIS MOVIE WAS ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN . THEY CAN CALL HIM WHAT EVER MYERS THAT THEY WANT TO CALL HIM BUT CLEARLY THIS WASNT MICHAEL MYERS. THIS MOVIE WASTED MY TIME WITH SOME CORY GUY THAT I WAS FORCED TO WATCH THAT DIDNT BRING ANYTHING TO THE TABLE .
As far as I'm concerned, H20 was a better way to end the Michael/Laurie saga. This film was so bad that it feels so disconnected from the previous two films, after everything Michael did in Halloween Kills and he gets taken out so easily in this film, it honestly makes him look pathetic. I wouldn't even say it's a great ending for the character or anything, it's a bad horror movie and reminded me of Jason Goes to Hell where Jason is barely in the movie. These filmmakers have no clue what the fans want.
Steven King said he liked HEnds,it didn’t reinvent the wheel, and was surprisingly character driven. Some fans like it and some don’t. I think it’s a very divisive movie for the Halloween fan base and it could gain a cult following years later like H3. Some fans think it’s great it took risks and went in a new direction instead of doing the same thing as previous Halloween movies. I haven’t watched it yet but I heard it had some good and and bar parts about it. Cody Leach gave probably the most balanced impartial review of the movie so far. I wish JLC would have stayed out of the Kanye West situation because that will cause more division among the fan base and bring more unnecessary heat to the movie while the cast is still on a press tour. She can talk about whatever she wants to on her own time after the press tour for HEnds is over. They should should have told her not to discuss certain issues while the cast is on a press tour and it looks like she’s trying to bring elements of feminism and the Me Too movement into this film which is unnecessary.
@@EverydayHorror Yeah I was already thinking about just watching it on Peacock because I don’t want to deal with large crowds of people and unruly teenagers/young children in the movie theater this weekend. I had a bad experience in the theater with unruly kids when I went to see H18 with my aunt. People have said the Smile horror movie was pretty good and I might check it out one day. You and The Myers Fan 25 should check Smile out and let us know what you guys think about it?
I got so sick of Allison's "I am woman hear me roar" scream. It's so apparent she is trying too hard. It's the same angry roar for every scream worthy moment.
Halloween Ends was basically every romance comedy ever where emo girl falls in love with outcast. Michael was nothing more than a cash register. It felt nothing like a Halloween movie or even a horror movie.
I see people making a Friday the 13th 5 comparisons to ENDS.. I disagree I compare it to NEW NIGHTMARE only Heather Langenkamp is turning from reality into the character and script where Laurie is writing the story and turning into Jamie Lee Curtis… back asswards.
@@AllOuttaBubblegum123 🤣🤣 man I KNEW they were going to screw it up.. just thankful BLUMHOUSE doesn’t have existing rights for more Halloween after ENDS.. that’s what I truthfully was looking forward to.. I hope the franchise goes back to the more traditional storylines regarding getting back to 4
I actually liked the first 7 minutes, what a way to open the movie. The rest of the movie was a joke! You have Michael getting bullied in a sewer and had his mask stolen, I was done after that.
awesome review bro, definitely agree with a ton of what you said, such a shame, because if they had just changed a few thing's, this movie could have been ok, an the changes are so obvious,
Worst Halloween movie .... people went to the theathre to see a halloween movie not some random Corey dude . compare michael in halloween kills how strong he was . and now a frickin teenager drops him on the ground ? i was expecting a god like fight between laurie and michael . and yea cant forget that for 1 hour and 30 minutes we got a fake michael corey ....... just what the hell dude. Shame on the producers that they treated the last movie of the saga like this
I liked Halloween Ends but I have a few issues with it I liked the ending but I don’t like the way Michael was portrayed i like the kills I knew Michael was gonna be a little weak but gawd damn lol out of the trilogy Halloween 2018 was better than Halloween kills and Halloween Ends but in my opinion
Sometimes less is more. Shoulda probably stopped at 2018 with Halloween since they had zero direction for this franchise after H18. How the fu*k do you sideline the most iconic horror villain of the past 80 years? I knew with that awful intro with pumpkins throwing up pumpkins and the awful blue font followed by that douchbaggy song they played for the first 2min of the movie that this was gonna be trash. I thought I was about to watch a romcom it was so ridiculous. MM was in it maybe 10 min and got beat up by a kid that got beat up by a band nerd half his weight and then by a geriatric old woman. SMDH...
I cant wrap my head around how anyone can like this movie. I just cant picture it. tbh if you like the movie you gotta get an evaluation done or something. something's off.
Bro…. I have watched multiple and multiple reviews, also upset as any other fan of the franchise but you are the only one who brought up the best point!……. I did like Halloween kills BECAUSE he killed the mob. So I was thinking ok Micheal killed the mob and since he did, the town of haddonfield is now gonna live in fear and maybe the town will like not even wanna celebrate Halloween anymore. When you said, hey the movie starts 1 year later….. nobody is mourning?? Does nobody care??….. people out trick or treating?? Straight up TRUTH
They just wasted James Jude Courtney's talents as Michael Myers. No other actor had the mannerisms as the original Myers and it is going to be hard to find another. A reboot is going to have to be done because of their dumb ending. It should of been Lori Strode going into that metal masher.
Those people playing Myers in H4, 5, 6, H20 and Resurrection didn't have the movements or mannerisms. Look like they just pulled someone off the street and gave them a Michael Myers mask.
It's okay to bash Halloween resurrection but if you're going to defend the pipsqueak whose name I won't mention overpower in steel Michael's mask I don't ever want to hear another word about Busta rhymes roundhouse kicking Michael or getting off the infamous one-liner you waived your right to complain about that if you're going to defend Michael getting robbed by a 21-year-old pipsqueak
They flubbed so many things in this trilogy, especially in Ends. They crapped over their own rules that they established is the last two movies. Made a lot of stupid mistakes and logic leaps. Made stupid filming mistakes. I didn’t buy any of the character’s motivations or reactions. Pretty terrible.
Which was another horrible Halloween movie because John Carpenter failed to realized nobody would’ve bought into his anthology back then in the 70s also today. MM is what makes Halloween interesting so he’s known for being a jerk for that. Anyways, Ends was a mixture of H3, H6, Christine, and Rob Zombie H1 or some sh*t.
They need to keep that political agenda stuff out of these classic horror films. I don’t care about any of it at all. Yeah I’m a WOC but still don’t promote that in a Halloween movie when it’s obvious. Each Halloween movie in this trilogy has a woke agenda. No other Halloween film has a political agenda like this timeline. Even Corey character was definitely some sort of political agenda to push something. JLC played a role in this because she’s very liberal woman but has said bigoted things or done things to people who’s not of her race. I hope there’s a reboot with a new characters and storyline for Michael Myers or bring back the thorn trilogy. Halloween 18 should’ve only been made only then they should’ve gave up their licensing to produce more. Akkads last living son need to do better because I saw he said he don’t know what to do or if they can remake another after DGG because he hasn’t thought beyond this trilogy. Maybe we’ll get another Halloween but with a different storyline without the political agendas or remake the thorn trilogy. That’s what I want to see.
This movie was a disaster and a huge letdown. I agree that the people were stupid and Michael was definitely made super weak. I mean in all of the other movies he is made to look supernaturally strong but in this movie, they erased all of that. Total disappointment.
im so tired of people saying halloween kills is bad. its just not. the flaws it has are so minor compared to all the things it actually does right. its the ONLY good movie in this trilogy and i cant believe people didnt see it how i saw it.
So, the almost complete absence of a plot, the cringe dialogue throughout the film, the grotesque idiocy of EACH character in this film, which is why an elderly maniac who is not too dexterous and not too smart can simply cut them all like brainless cattle - all these are minor flaws? And what did this movie do right? Turned Michael Myers into old Jason, with no purpose or reason to exist on screen, just killing random people? Turned Laurie Strode into the unpleasant Sarah Connor? Annoying and inappropriate humor, clowning in the car? Or is he doing the right thing that they couldn't even properly stage the KEY scene of the film, in which Myers gets up and kills everyone using a hacky and shabby montage? Alas, I really can't see it through your eyes, there was nothing good about it, except for two brutal murders and how they made the image of young Myers in a flashback. And I really liked Ends.
I say this next sentence with no exaggeration, much consideration, no hyperbole and as little recency bias as possible. After seeing it, I can honestly say I have never thought LESS of a movie than I do 'Halloween Ends' due to how insulting it is to fans. And that includes Jaws 4, the Burton/Depp 'Wonka' movie, and anything with Rob Schneider. And it's worse than Resurrection. It makes Halloween Kills looks like Lawrence Of Arabia. What a total insult to the fans. Though there's a million reasons, but for starters Michael Myers is literally in the thing for nanoseconds and a joke in how weak he was. What an absolute episode of Charmed meets Dawson's Creek, pretentious, rotting pos on every single level imaginable.
Woman was stabbed through the jugular vein with a philosant light bulb she's almost as indestructible as Michael is supposed to be just to survive that
Halloween Kills I thought it couldn't get any worse, but Ends proved me wrong. Halloween 2018 I think is decent enough to at least watch. Kills and Ends are just something you have to force yourself to get through it. I think Corey had no place in this movie. Romance was forced onto the fans. How the fuck do you become a couple within a day? Most of it was a Corey and Allyson, A Psycho Romance Story. This movie is basically a film that had nothing to do with the main characters, Laurie and Myers. Jamie Lee Curtis is just as guilty as the director for this mess. She didn't object to this film, she was there for the paycheck. I hate the fact they used Blue Oyster Cult- Don't Fear The Reaper in this film's credits.
I didn't think it was an awful movie. I just didn't think it was a good "Halloween" movie. Y'all kill me hatin' on halloween kills though. I don't get all the hate. I like Halloween kills better than any movie in the franchise except the original, and MAYBE the second one. After those two, Kills and 18 are my next two favorites. I don't know how anybody can hate on 18 and Kills, and say that the later films in the original franchise are better... a lot of them movies are GARBAGE... Particularly 5 and Ressurection.
@@EverydayHorror That's a little bit different situation... He had like 12 people attacking him lol. At least he didn't get whipped by a nerd we just watched get his ass kicked by a couple band geeks lol
This Film is more a love-story or family-drama. And therefore everyone should admit, that it also fails in that way: One-dimensional characters, weak Story and for sure cringest dialogues ever. Especially between Corey and Alyson! Compared to that the dialogues between Padme and Anakin in Star Wars Episode 2 seem to be god-tier! And this says a lot about the Halloween Ends! And for obvious reasons it is a bad horror and Halloween movie! I refuse to consider it to be a part of the franchise! Surely one of the worst movies ever!
Youre the only review that ive seen that has brought up the ridiculous over representing of black people in Haddonfield in this trilogy. Its so cringey and woke and pandering that its literally distracting.
Atleast hallween ends was fun bad, it was so stupid it was fun, this was entry for a trilogy was just plain awful no fun, took itself way to serious for slasher movie.
I'm gonna see this movie in the cinema in a few week's. I mean it's sound's like an awful movie. But I've never watched a horror movie in the cinema before. So whether the movie is good or not. I'm still gonna have fun watching a horror movie in the cinema for the first time.
I'm watching it tonight! I've heard from everybody it's complete and total fiery Garbage shit! I'm doing my livestream tonight! Rant and review! I'm going straight for the Pansy Fanboys!!!🎃🍻🍻
