For this video I am going to be unboxing and reviewing the 4K Blu-ray Steelbook of Halloween H20. I will also be showing 4K comparisons against the previous Blu-ray release.

Hi Keith, Love “Halloween H20” which is my 3rd fav from the movie series, the build up til Laurie & Michael eventually meet up. The steelbook is highly impressive & the back of the steelbook is perfect with that iconic shot, thanks for sharing Keith 😎👍

Hey Carlos. It's great to hear that there is another fan of H20 out there. I think it's highly underrated and it was great to see the movie get this kind of treatment. Like you said the build up is fantastic but the ending is Perfection in my eyes and they probably should have left it after that. The less we say about Resurrection the better 😆🤣. Here in Detroit we all called and still call this film, Halloween H two Oh..... never realized how wrong that is until I just heard you call it H Twenty. Lol! Love your videos. The artwork on the back is so beautiful on this steelbook

Honestly Chris I was the exact same as yourself when it first came out. I kept saying H Two O and then I noticed directly under it it would say 20 years later and to be honest it was very hard to stop myself from saying it because I was so used to it. Glad you feel pretty much the same way I do Keith. I've always maintained the complete Halloween series is HALLOWEEN 1978, HALLOWEEN II 1981 and HALLOWEEN H20. I don't have much use for any of the others.

That's the one thing I love when it comes to the Halloween franchise it has multiple trilogies. Like you said Halloween 78 Halloween 2 and Halloween H20. Then you've got the Jamie's trilogy Parts 4 5 and 6 and of course David Gordon Green trilogy. The less we say about resurrection and rob zombie the better

I honestly don't think I've ever seen this one before Keith 🤔 great info behind this movie, it's made me want to check it out now 🤔😊 its funny the UK got a release of a Halloween movie Keith, we keep getting shafted with this franchise 🥶😱 great steelbook and I remember that picture of Laurie and Michael meeting 🤩🤩👍👍 looks a nice 4k for the most part there Keith 😊😊👌👌great review mate 😊😊👍👍

Apparently paramount regained the rights to six seven and eight so don't be one bit surprised if you see Steelbook Editions for the other two sometime in the near future. For me H20 is the perfect conclusion to Parts 1 and 2. I see that as a trilogy in that Halloween franchise. I hope you give it a go someday John because the conclusion is absolutely perfect and I honestly think they should have left it alone after that. A huge thanks as always for stopping by

Yeah there's no question about it's how disappointing the lack of special features are on this release particularly it being a 25th anniversary release. The Steelbook is beautiful though and I'm still happy I picked it up in the end

I'm not going to lie I put it into my basket three times and I couldn't pull the trigger. I'm not sure what to do. It does look beautiful but it is expensive and I already have the trilogy on Steelbook. I think I'll know more when it gets closer to the release date

Hi Keith, I was in 2 minds picking this up as I already have the Scream Factory release, but I couldn't resist as I loved the steelbook and it's probably my 2nd favourite Halloween film!! Speaking of Josh Hartnett, I think a Special Edition 4k Steelbook of The Faculty is long overdue!!

Hey Steven. I had the shout factory released myself but there was no way I could say no to this beautiful steelbook edition of a very underrated Halloween movie. Never mind getting a Steelbook of the faculty I would just love to get a special feature because I have it on DVD and Blu-ray and I never got a single special feature with either release. It is such a phenomenal movie as well

Great review, Keith! This is actually the ONLY Halloween movie (other than the 2018 trilogy) that has gotten a 4K release here in Australia. Little random to have just the (6th?) film in the series in 4K only. This was actually the first Halloween film I ever saw as it's only rated PG-13 here in Au. (The actual rating for PG-13 here in Australia is actually called "M" for Mature Audiences, but I just say PG-13 because everyone knows it). Due to this film being rated M, all ages are okay to see it without parental consent... so I was allowed to watch it when I was very young, I loved it. Will be picking this one up when it becomes available in the coming months here in AU! Cheers Keith, have a great day!

Hey Clark. Wow I'm actually shocked to hear that this is the only Halloween release you can buy in Australia bar of course the David Gordon green trilogy. I thought you would at least get the original Halloween on 4k. Now that I think of it the only releases of Halloween we got over here is the original the latest trilogy and H20. I did manage to buy parts 2 and 3 from Germany on 4K and I still have to put out the videos for them. I hope you don't have any issues picking it up. It's a beautiful release and it looks great on 4K even though it does have its issues. A huge thank you for checking it out

Hi Keith - good review. I have the shout factory release but hadn’t got round to watching. Your review has ensured that’s tomorrow’s agenda sorted. You may have seen today the arrow promo for the Chucky 4k set although apparently and sadly the first movie is blu ray only in the set (license issue apparently) - a bit like enter the dragon in the arrow 4k Bruce Lee set.

Yes I did see the Chucky collection and I'm not going to lie I thought the artwork looked absolutely terrible on it and the fact that the original child's Play doesn't come with a 4K transfer it really is a disaster. This edition should have been so much more special than it is. I honestly don't know what to do. Part of me is thinking wait and try and pick up the shout factory releases. I'll know when it gets closer to the release date

Yes Gareth I think the less we say about Halloween Resurrection the better. The last time I knocked it on I got around a half an hour in and I couldn't take it anymore. The Steelbook itself is absolutely beautiful. Great to see H20 get this kind of treatment

You are not going to believe this but I cancelled my hellraiser 4K collection. I thought long and hard about it and I realized I was very happy with the Scarlet Blu-ray box set that I have and not just that but the movies have this real grainy look to them and I can only imagine the grain looking even heavier on the 4K releases. But I'm hoping I'll be proved wrong and if so I might consider picking it up

Thanks for another great video. Was going to wait and see if they release the others or to import the American set. Paramount are still doing nothing to make us want to rush out and buy there releases. Great steel, very few extras, and an encode that suddenly goes from amazing to average. Great news that Arrow are releasing the Chucky set 99% in 4k, but as I imported the 1st no bigge. Perhaps they should ask about doing a Terminator and T2 boxset. They can do multiple cuts and release T2 on Blu-ray as it will still look better than the 4k lol 😂

Hey Roy. Apparently paramount have regained the rights to parts 6 7 and 8 so don't be one bit surprised if you see Steelbooks for the other two in the near future. Paramount are still the most unreliable label when it comes to 4K. As a matter of fact I have a video coming up talking about them and how inconsistent they are. I've seen the Chucky boxset and I'm not going to lie I thought it was one of the most hideous looking collections I have ever seen and the fact that you do not get the first movie on 4K is an absolute disaster. I don't think I'll be picking it up. This edition should have been so much better than it is.

Nice review Keith. Interestingly, the US release doesn't come with a blu-ray disc and therefore doesn't contain any special features. Not that they are anything to write home about. Also, supposedly this 4K transfer is different that the Scream Factory release. As must as I like the steelbook, this is a bit of a strange release from Paramount.

Paramount Are Forever doing this. They call it a 25th anniversary edition and decide not to put any effort at all when it comes to the special features. Having said that I do have the shout factory release so I'm well covered for special features and the only reason to why I wanted to get this was to get the Steelbook. I know there is differences with the 4K transfers but my god you really have to go looking for them. They're almost identical

@@millerman9991 It's frustrating as Paramount are one of the few major studios that do still care about physical media, but it's hard not to be cynical with releases like that this. As @markpugh6808 said, steelbooks for 6 and Resurrection will surely follow. Maybe this is why Scream Factory couldn't release these separately. Good to know the transfers are almost identical. If we are being kind to Paramount, maybe they didn't have the rights to the special features.

This is the one you recommended to me some months ago Keith because I had never watched it. You said it had closure than any of the latest ones did and you were right. If it had ended there it would have been Okay by me. A really nice looking steel book, nice for your collection and the 4K looks amazing.

To me Gary it has the best closure out of any of the sequels bar part 2. It was perfect and that's what I was looking to get out of Halloween ends but as you know it didn't work out. Like I said in the video it's a Halloween movie for the scream generation. It's by no means the best sequel but I had a good time with it and it was great to see it get such a beautiful steelbook. I'm definitely opened towards the Steelbook collection of the Halloween franchise. I've been hearing great things about that Saw movie and I might go see it myself

Hey Ian. A gloss finish would have made the world of difference to the Steelbook. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if you heard the American version does come with a gloss Steelbook because it does happen quite often I might add.

This is very strange Ian because believe it or not I've actually shot a video on dredd. I haven't put it out yet I'm just waiting for the right time. It's a 4K release that I got from Amazon Italy and the slip cover it comes with is absolutely astonishing and not just that but it's also limited to 1000 copies and I only paid 12 Euro for it

It's not so much the trilogy that I didn't enjoy it's the last movie but unfortunately the last movie of a trilogy can destroy a trilogy and that's exactly what Halloween ends done for me. H20 gave us everything that It promised.

@@millerman9991 the ending was disappointing dolled up to be the big final showdown between Laurie and Michael and Michael is hardly in it replaced by some weird kid instead and the final confrontation is just bad comedy it's like if they did a Nightmare on Elm Street film and Freddy doesn't show up until the final 10 mins it just doesn't work

Yes it had a studio canal release over here on Blu-ray but this is definitely the first time on 4k. Apparently paramount have gotten the rights to parts 6 7 and 8 so don't be one bit surprised if you see Steelbook edition for the other two in the near future

What kills me about Resurrection is the person that directed it directed the original sequel to Halloween which is my favorite sequel. Mark Rosenthal was his name. How could he get it so wrong

I'm not going to lie I actually bought it just to get the Steelbook. I'm a huge Halloween fan and if anything new comes out I will always try and pick it up. Just like yourself I do have the scream factory release and in terms of special features it's the version to own. Maybe wait for a price drop and see how you feel

There is a difference but you really have to go looking for it. I think the most obvious is the palate of scream factory looks a bit warmer. Other than that not much else going on

Yeah I definitely think it's worth picking up because the Blu-ray on this one looks very decent and your future proofing yourself for whenever you do get a 4K TV

I can promise you it is a marked improvement over what we got before and I think you'll be impressed with it particularly it being your favourite Halloween movie. Not to forget about the packaging on it as well which looks absolutely fantastic and it is easily the best release I have ever seen for Halloween H20. Indulge my friend I think you'll be happy

There's always a Brightside to missing out on releases like this. What I might do is pick it up sometime in the future when it goes on sale because I would love to hear that Dolby Atmos soundtrack

There is differences but you really will have to go looking for them. I think the most obvious thing I noticed was the palette on shout factories release looks warmer. Other than that not much of a difference

Keith, I got the US release of this steelbook and it is different than yours. Once again the US cuts corners and gives an inferior product. While the steelbook and slipcover are the same, Where you have special features listed on the J card there are none on the US version and there is a barcode in that corner and in the US there is only the 4K disc and a digital code no Blu-ray Disc...

Hey Gordon. I will never fully understand why things like this happen. Why the hell did they not put in the Blu-ray disc with the US version. Having said that there's not many special features so you're not missing out on much but I can understand why you would be frustrated. It should be the same release for everybody.

Thankfully I have the shout factory release so im well-covered when it comes to special features but they should be on that Steelbook release.

To be honest I only picked it up for the Steelbook. I already had the shout factory release so I'm covered in terms of special features but it is a shame that we didn't get anything new. Typical paramount unfortunately

i got this the toher day, when i put in the extras disk it only gave me an option for German and French. Once in the menus i saw the English option marked as EG+ but all the extras then had subtitles on in either French or German. Did the same happen for you or is it only on some disks? Cheers.
