Halloween haunted houses! Laser cut from 1/8" plywood. Easy beginner project that will help acquaint you with your laser. Some single layer, and some two layer.
I also show how to alter dimensions of the cuts to match you material thickness and how to resize, both larger and smaller in project finished size.
Source for the cut files: designbundles.net/the-t-store...

Laser used in this video is the Longer B1.

This is a great video Roger, but I am afraid the K40 has been neglected. Hopefully we can see some new videos on that machine! God bless!

Your doing everything the long way. Just hold shift and click on the items you want and group them.

I know that. This is for the NOVICE and I need to keep it SIMPLE.

Would the settings be the same for a 5 watt?

No. You will need to run some tests on scraps. Not every laser is the same, so just doubling time or power will not work as the difference is not linear.

I noticed that you have a lot of different name lasers engravers, do they all do the same thing they're just bigger besides being diode and CO2. When I say bigger I mean like bigger workspace area.

Most are 400mm square. I do have an xTool D1 that I use for porch signs which is 400 x 800 mm. I used to have a couple others with larger format, but have sold them. Wife said I had too many lasers! I think she was right..........

So to answer my own question, they all do the same thing. Like they can all do the same material summer just faster than others or is there a difference between each each one like I said, besides one being a CO2 and one being a diode.

I’m just trying to learn the difference between like what an ex tool diode, like the different brands. Some say they can do like thicker material some so they can do acrylic some say they can do cups. I’m just trying to take my game to the next level. My daughter-in-law says I should do DTF instead of laser engraving. But I don’t have that kind of budget push. He says sublimation is a waste of time and money. That’s what my husband wants to do.

@@plurmingo1 All depends on your market. DTF is expensive to get into, but would be worth it if you have the market. I have chosen not to go that route since I am already deep into laser, 3D printing, wood working, and sublimation products and have good markets for these products.

@@plurmingo1 CO2 and diode lasers are not an apples-to-apples comparison. I have both, and while in general, they both "do the same thing", they don't. CO2 lasers are more $$$ if you want the same working area and require external cooling for the tube via a chiller. The only thing I use the CO2 laser for is cutting and engraving clear acrylic. A diode laser cannot effectively do that, but it can cut dark acrylic. We do a lot of laser engraving on wood and for that, prefer the diode lasers due to the larger working area. The choice between the two would depend on your intended use.

I see they are now as I was just at one yesterday. Must have been a clearance when I picked several rolls up a few weeks ago.

My local Home Depot's don't stock the 1/8 stuff :( Have to drive about an hour to get some. What vinyl are you using? Do you have a link to it on their website? Since they clearanced it off I mean. Nice video!

Vinyl is permanent outdoor vinyl. Available at hobby stores, craft stores, Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, etc. Also on Amazon. Lots of brands out there. You can also use acrylic paint instead.
