Just a quick video showing how I create the lettering on my tombstones. Recently a lot of people have been asking me what technique I use so I thought I would make a video
It really gives you control to do those fine little corners! Its funny I did a project a while back were I purchased several Dremels and modified them. Afterward I was left with all these attachments which I use but I have a bag of 40 or so of those black Cutting Guides that are sitting on a shelf in my garage. Never thought to try to iron on the printed pages to transfer the lettering, Cool Tombstone!
Thanks for the video sir. I have been using the foam cutter to do the letters and I was trying to decide which Dremel to get and I heard you say the 3000 model, I may invest because it looks more useful and more varietal cuts
Thanks! I had put off buying a dremel for the longest time then I eventually broke down and got one and its been the best thing ever! The ironing on of the letters is very hit or miss I am still experimenting with it to see what works best. So far having the letters be a light color grey instead of dark black seems to make them transfer easier for some reason.
Another video I watched claimed that laser printed (not ink jet) transferred best while ironing onto foam (the video is part of the Killer Tombstones series). I tried it out myself. I ironed letters from my ink jet and they came out light grey with parts missing, then I ironed stuff I had copied on a laser printer and got nice dark black complete images. Thanks for the video! I got a Dremel last night (because using my battery powered soldering iron was working, but it was just too slow!)
Thanks I will for sure check out the Haunters Hangout! I am located in Davie, just west of Fort Lauderdale and sadly you are right there are not a lot of us haunters down here!
Great idea, would like to start making my own tombstones and this is will make it easier. Thanks for your video's. Just found your video's, keep up the great work. Also do you use the black paint for outdoor or can you use any kind of black paint for a tombstone, I live in WI.
+lilac2484 Thanks so much! I would use an outdoor exterior paint for everything that way you know it would hold up to the weather! This black paint Im using is actually a cement sealer I found it in the oops paint section for 10 bucks for an entire gallon of it!
Thank goodness I found your youtube page. Its like the mother load of all of my home haunter questions answered. (in detail) which I need, haha... I just think that you are fantastic and so helpful. booswife02 on HF
