Halo 2 LASO: Gravemind Prison Skip 

Maybe try standing a little closer to the lift? I'm not really sure. I also had this issue a couple times, but I can't say for sure how I fixed it.

@@ShaneClough I'm gonna be honest I have no idea. I practiced this on easy without skulls using this set up and this set up was amazing, got it 1 out of 4 tries. Then seeing that it didn't work as well because of sputink on laso, I practiced again on easy with spitinik and couldn't do it in an hour of attempts. I just bit the bullet and went down the lift, which wasn't as bad as people made it out to be

This can be done co-op, but you need to make sure that there is no space between you and the brute as you stand descending the lift. Do a quick melee cancel (either bx or by) as soon as the brute is above you to get rid of any space between you. You need to do this because otherwise your partner will be teleported above you. If there is no space between you and the brute, the second player will briefly despawn (just as if they had died) and they will respawn once you exit the lift. This does not count as a death though, so it's not going to send you back to the previous checkpoint. It's kinda strange to watch, but it does work.

It can be done with any weapon. Standing near an enemy with a sniper makes their AI more likely to melee you, but it really isn't necessary

You can still complete the level without the glitch. The first H2 LASO run I did was before I knew how to do this. Unfortunately it just requires a decent amount of luck to not just get instantly melted whilst going down the lift. If you were to try it without the glitch, my advice would be to make sure you get max overshields, whilst falling down the lift spam crouch (it makes you fall slightly faster) And don't shoot or throw any grenades until you exit the elevator. If you can quickly fall down to the bottom floor and sit behind the little elevators in the prison you can assassinate enemies as they drop down.

No it hasn't been patched. Sometimes if you're trying the ascend the lift, but keep getting pushed down it's because other enemies have jumped on top of the brutes head, forcing him downwards. I'm not really sure what to do to avoid it. Unfortunately it just sometimes happens. Typically the faster you can get into the lift the more consistently enemies won't jump on top of the brute.

You definitely shouldn't need a macro for going up the lift. However, if you're really struggling with it, a macro would work. I think you can also probably practice in custom games if you just have a friend (on the enemy team) stand on your head, and then you can try doing the melee cancel/jump combo. I think the friend may also need to jump for you to actually go anywhere, but it would at least get you familiar with the movement.

This is a video of me literally doing this on LASO. Yes Sputnik makes it a little worse, but it's not impossible.
