Andrew 14 : yeahs it pretty fun to see the AI fight. Alot of times they end up killing each other. Still trying to figure out how to get 19 guys. May I ask how did you come across my video?
Kristopher Ferrell : Really?? Huh.. that's fúcking awesome. I didn't know my video could even be Recommend to people. Well that made my day. Are going to attempt to follow my poorly put together guide and save the Marines?
Fucking Bolsheviks: Surprisedly the elites are a bunch of scared Dino's. Everytime they get shot they dance and hide in cover. Half the time they hide behind the Marines and kill them by shooting them in the back with their plasma rifles.
Bungie: let's put marines in strategic locations so they get infected and the player can watch the new animation we made for it. This player: No man dies today.
@@ReaverSenpai aw thank you! I am happy to hear that. I have more videos on my channel about the process I took for each part of the level. It is not exactly concise or clear but I hope it gets the point across. Good luck on saving the Marines yourself and just comment here if you have any other questions. 👍
It was quite satisfying to save a marine or two, but having an entire squad is amazing. My friends couldn’t stand playing through the campaigns with me when I was younger, due to constant checkpoint reloads. Hearing wisecracking marines and familiar gruff voices during the darker levels was always worth the trouble in my opinion.
Thx for the view. Believe me this is a very tedious process. If you want to attempt to do this yourself I suggest you can view my step by step playlist. If I may ask how did you come across my video?
@@WeaponsComplexI don't own a console system anymore anyway. As for seeing your video, finding it wasn't very hard, just had to look up stuff about surviving marines in Halo games.
Just a little bit. About 13 years of trial and error. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uc30AnFypPc.html Add 2 more to the count. 5 Elites and 13 Marines.
EshockerD: lol. Just saw this notification. Glad I can make someone happy. Sorry about the "guide" if you want to call it that. I just made a large compilation of my clips saving them. The 'real' walkthrough is in the two massive comments I made at the beginning. I'm actually working on making a new one, one that includes the 4 elites at the end. And for the first in years I figured out I can save ALL 6 Marines from the clearing (the 4 Marines that get rained on by flood near the beginning).
EshockerD: aw. Thanks man. Fair warning this video is pretty much the only highlight of my channel. If I may ask are you going to attempt to save the Marines/Elites and follow my 'guide'?
: lol! The whbyd skull does some fun stuff. I'm impressed you made it to the 10min mark. Are going to attempt to follow my poorly put together guide? And if I may ask how did you come across my video?
popcorn chicken: Yeah I didn't think so either till I tried. There's 11 Marines that can follow you to the end of the mission. This video only shows my attempts to save 10/11. The 11th can be saved much easier in Coop.
RussianTails :3 : It's definitely really fun to watch. But it's also really tedious to accomplish alone. If I may ask how did you come across my video and are you going to attempt to save them yourself?
Xavier Amador I had 6 marines at the point where normally they stood in place but I pushed them to the stairs and they just followed to where the Arbiter was. I was mind blown when they all were following me throughout the mission. I looked up if anyone else found this out and that's how I found this video. But the part where they bunch up towards the window was a pain but I did it.
RussianTails :3 : yeah that part can be a paininthe ass. How I usually solve that issue is I restart the checkpoint, let the Marines go down the hole in the floor themselves, pray they don't break a window accidentally, and push them all to the door way, from there they follow you till the end of the mission.
FÖÖTA : Technically you can do the same thing in the level The Covenant. But I'm glad I can help someone release their 'dream'. If I may ask, how did you come across my video?
Thank you It's always nice to see my effort recognized and appreciated. If you like this video please take a look at the updated version and other videos on the channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-otTLuQWieAM.html :D
Sadly the reality is that all of those Marines died, ironically they were more than likely killed by ONI in an attempt to cover up the flood outbreak of Voi.
93725ig: lol that'd suck. In game almost all of them were scripted to die. I saved them. Since they grouped up with elites I'd like to think they helped in the battle of the Ark during the next level.
Xavier Amador Hopefully they did live to fight on, but if I recall correctly from a book I read a while back, ONI's cover up story was that the covenant glassed Africa (Majority) and supposedly shut down all media communications in order to prevent a leaked civilian video of the flood outbreak from reaching social media and news (due to causing wide spread panic.) Also I say that survivors that were rallied up by ONI operatives were more than likely "quarantined" and never heard from again. Due to all the fucked up shit ONI has done ranging from the Spartan 2 program to experiments with flood cells on live human/covenant prisoners to framing Master Chief as a war criminal and locking up a person in isolation (And who still is in isolation) for finding out about the Spartan 2 program abductions and trying to tell the general public about it. Yeah ONI is a really messed up organization but are a sort of lawful and necessary evil.
When you go down with the AI a checkpoint activates and the AI proceed to cluster by the door. When the checkpoint activates there is a flood crawler pure form that spawns in the next area and is timed to drop down to your level to transform into its tank form. If this happens the AI fight it and are likely to die. To prevent this you can drop down from the upper walkway unto a gray box and from that gray box onto rounded yellow piping. From here you can see above the AI and through doorway leading to the outside with the pure form. If you time your frag grenade right you can kill it in its crawler form instantly or weaken it enough to kill it quickly. Because you threw the grenade over the AIs head they will dive left or right to avoid it. When they do push yourself forward and throw the Deployable Cover over their heads so it blocks the doorway Make sure you do not get any closer to the door otherwise the friendly dropship will spawn as well as all the other flood in the area. Friendly AI cannot walk through these and destroyed civilian vehicles (important). When the pure form is dead a few more flood will spawn. Stay inside and kill them with the BR. When you think all are dead jump over the cover and kill all the flood in the area but do not proceed a single step past the mounted turret. Going past this will trigger a checkpoint and possibly despawn the 5 marines. When killing the flood you can use the turret but make sure to regularly check on your cluster of AI behind the Cover to see if the all the marines are still there. When you jumped over the cover this triggered a friendly phantom to spawn and drop off 4 elites at the base of the big purple ramp leading up to the last part of the level. These elites will fight the flood for a little while but are scripted to go up the ramp and into the hole thus despawning. These elites can be saved but are prone to leaving early, getting killed by a horde of pure forms, or getting knocked off the level. In the video I included a clip near the end showing if you reach them quick enough and put another deployable cover in their path they wont leave to despawn. As of right now I have not successfully saved the 15 AI with me AND the 4 additional elites. The last clip in this video is where I got lucky and 2 of them were pushed onto pieces of level that they can't walk on. When all the flood are dead use the hammer or sword to push the trucks into place like I did in the longer section of the video and to knock off ALL the gray boxes on the left of the area. Grab the other deployable cover by the big gray containers on the right side path and put in where I have placed it in the video. The AI are prone to walking into corners thinking it's a path and you are unable to remove them. The placement of the trucks are there to do the same thing and herd the marines to the lower path with elites as sometimes elites and marines take different paths and progress without the other group. From here proceed forward as normal, killing flood, and double checking for casualties. Once you reach the part where the elites come down with you but not the 10 marines. You can push them down with elites and they’ll proceed with them.
Thought I was the only one who tried this! Glad you succeeded! The charge to the ship with all of the Marines and elites is something I will never forget.
You definitely not alone there man. So much fun having an army confront the flood. Don't forget to watch the updated version! :D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-otTLuQWieAM.html
@@thestifmyster1 glad I am not the only one! :D And if you would like I have other Marine saving videos on my channel including an updated version for this level! If I may ask how did you come across my channel? :D
This is beautiful, I always try my best to save the marines, seeing that bit at 6:54 where there's a lot of soldiers coming down firing on the flood and teaming up with the elites makes me feel the same feeling I have on the mission covenant when I see the elites joining the marines on the last assault on Truth, it's amazing, this is truly awesome!!
Dudeee i love this, i remember spending countless hours saving marines across all halo games, i used to revert to last checkpoint a lot, push them so they move, change their weapons so they got a better fighting chance, killing some so their will spawn more :( , getting off map to find better ways to make them live, all of that just to see that satisfying army following you, i've always love marines in these games and i am happy to see a lot of people in the comments saying they try to save them too Sorry if my English is off, not my native language, i wish there were more videos like this trying to save marines, makes me remember so much :,)
Quality Content: While I would love more views and the fact people keep finding and commenting on my one video is amazing. But I'mma chalk that up to not being a famous streamer or RU-vidr. If I may ask how did you come across my video?
Xavier Amador I've been watching halo lore videos and stuff all week, and i guess youtube just recommended your video to me as its like those other under viewed and underated videos. Nice video btw, had no idea you could save half those guys.
Quality Content: Thanks man. Nice to hear that my video is getting recognition somewhere. Yeah I didn't realize it either for long time. I figured this out many years after halo 3 came out. Right now I'm trying to get a video together of saving all 11 Marines instead of just 10.
Quality Content: Ever since Halo came out I loved going to the different levels and saving all the allies available. Halo 3 is no exception. 1st time: 5 Elites and 7 Marines. 2nd time: 5 Elites and 11 Marines. 3rd time: 5 Elites and 14 Marines. 4th time: 9 Elites and 15 Marines. Latest attempt: all 9 Elites and all 16 Marines. Even if I follow my own guide I can take up to 2 hours to collect all the Marines because that first part is a pain in the ass. The extra time is usually due to the a lot of friendly fire. This time can be shortened in 2 player coop but you end up losing an elite because of how spawns work. As for when I figured this out, I figured this out years ago with the 1st and 2nd attempt back when the game came out. As for all the other attempts that was within the last few months. Still trying to save all 6 from that first area.
We were only ever able to pull this once (and in co-op, not single player), and it's still such a nice sight seeing Elites and Marines fighting alongside each other. As amazing Halo 3 was, it lacked more "scenes" of this kind. Absolutely wonderful game.
Recommended because I was watching map breaking tutorials, I already try to but since i'm doing a legendary run through the only one I saved was the one where about ten infection forms jump him by opening fire early
Wow truly spectacular video! Well done my guy! I don’t know what it is but saving the AI is worth it and there a good distraction in case you get overwhelmed

: Thx for watching my clip. Surprisingly the Flood doesn't get a chance to kill the ai because they spent most of the time committing friendly fire. If you want a slightly better guide of how I do this I made small clips of each section, so check out my channel. If I may ask how did you come across my video and are you going to attempt to save them yourself?
For those that accidentally subscribed to me. Small PSA. But within the past few weeks I have discovered that you can in fact save all 6 Marines from the clearing. Hopefully everything goes right and I'll have second video before next month.
Joshuaa Parishh: Lol. It is dedication. I figured this process out years ago, this was simply working to prefect it and testing out new strategies. But luckily the 8 hour time isn't really accurate when it's simply the total time of a bunch of restarts.
Joshuaa Parishh : oh I know I proved him wrong. He either ignored me or removed my comment with this video link. (Granted I posted on a bunch of his halo 3 related vids, but still no need to be a dick). Also if I may ask how did you come across my video?
Xavier Amador clearly doesn’t like to be put wrong ahaha, was watching a few of his videos and always wanted to see how many of the marines on this level you could save, used to play halo 3 back in 2007 and liked trying to save as many as I could.
good fkn video man very impressed. couldn't believe you saved the "AAH NO GET IT OFF ME" guy I had no idea that was possible. its cool how you can change the events of the game like this
For the longest time I thought it was impossible to save any of them until one day I managed to bring 4 marines out of the warehouse. But *this* is pretty damn impressive
Theicemanleaveth: Thanks you. Believe me this was a struggle. And I'm still trying to prefect it. Soon I should be able to save ALL the Marines in the level. If I may ask how did you come across my video and are you going to attempt to follow my poorly put together 'guide'?
Xavier Amador Randomly found it in a search for "Halo 3 Floodgate." I'm not sure when I'd have the time to commit to trying it, but I used to do this kind of stuff in the past, like when I brought an army of Marines and ODSTs into the Forerunner building at the end of The Ark. Out of Curiosity, how did you manage to save the Marines near the beginning who were standing at the bottom of the ramp outside the warehouse? I thought they were scripted to become infected whether or not you kill the flood that drops down? I've been able to save the 2 behind the sandbags, but I could never get those guys to survive.
Theicemanleaveth: I actually have two big comments tagged near the beginning of the comment section detailing how I saved them. But to put it simply. There's 4 Marines there, not including the two behind the sandbags. 2 will auto-transform, 2 will not. The two that do transformed can be saved by canceling the animation. This can be done if the Marines are sent flying.
Imagine you're a squad of Marines fighting at the edge of a cliff, about to be transformed into your worst nightmare, until suddenly distant burst shots cut through the fog and wipe out the flood spawns right in front of you. But seriously nice start, I've replayed that part way too much to save them one time
Well looky here, didn’t even know this existed until I got a recommendation for it. Glad all the years you’ve put into it are shown to the world. You know who I am
Lol. Noob. I've showed you this video before. Yeah thx for all the help over the years. I have plans for rest if the Halo 3 lvls. But school is back and I don't have much time. Christ Ajranand : lol thanks. I'm trying to upload a better guide soon. Either multiple small clips or a one long video. Yeah I was pushing them because I needed them all to fit in the picture.
When ever I passed the bridge where the marine died by using a flame thrower, the marines stopped for some reason to follow me on the floodgates mission
ADVENTURES UNITED STUDIOS: Please read the two very long comments detailing how I saved all the Marines. All you have to do is push all 10 up the stairs.
This reminds me so much of the end of 343 Guilty Spark from Halo CE. All those marines at the end ready to kick some ass with the Master Chief. I always wanted to protect the Marines in Halo because they were like children lol. Great job dude! Heh heh
Well, I played Halo 1 and 2 recently without that and those damn marines always died by rushing, killing each others by friendly fire or jump on my warthog. And that Halo's 2 marine who had killed his squad after giving him my rocket launcher... didn't see that coming

: thanks for watching. I wish good luck. This was painful to do. But in the end it is pretty awesome seeing so many allies fight the Flood. Please refer to the description and my two large comments in the comments section to see how I did it.
The flame guy and suicide guy are indeed scripted to die :( I never realized there were this many marines that could follow you in the mission. Kinda reminded me of the end of 343GS in Halo 1, my favourite flood mission ever. I also tried to save these 2 marines you find in the middle of that mission every time I played, but it was impossible. I was so scared of the flood as a kid that I wanted the marines to keep me company but they never made it. If you want a new challenge, try saving all 10 marines at the end of 343GS It´s a real son of a gun, my best try is 7 of them surviving. I love playing MCC but the population is low so if you want to add me my GT is: dud35. I found your video under generalkidd btw.
Hemmo Laurell: sadly yes you are right they are scripted to die. Honestly I was surprised at first at how many Marines there were as well. Turns out there's 11 that can follow to the end. Yeah to the kids during halo 1 the flood were scary. Hell manged to save all3 of the guys in the middle of the lvl on the MCC version. As for the last 10 during the ending, that's always a gamble because 90% of the time they get stuck between 2 rocks. Lol. Yup I kinda spam his videos from time to time. Wish he noticed me. Oh well.
I actually managed to save the two marines underground. All you have to do is spam your assault rifle around them without being afraid of friendly fire. Reload every time you fail, and around 1 time out of 10, you will save at least one of them.
Oh hoah! Nice content man but i BET u to save ALL The marines in Halo ce FIREFIGHT! Cuz i managed to save only 4 of them on legendary. I saved two ODSTs that r available at the starting round while the shotgun and his pal will go berserk and die. And the BEST part comes When u save the ODSTs that comes from a palican if u saved both of them like i did believe it is so fun to fight with them in ur warthog damn that was so fun! Give the passenger RPG and thank me later.
Nice one, just looked this up wondering if anyone had tried it - glad to see the count. Also didn't know about those two behind at spawn or the 2 behind the fence, great saves
That was so cool literally all I did half the time playing halo would make a cool screenshot sadly there is a batch of elites that are sent into the cruiser while the other phantom was dropping more off to you in theater most of them can either die or go in the ship after that they just despawn but the 2 dead ones inside insinuate them dying
Bajeezus : Thanks man. I always did the same thing and over the years I always learn new things and now I'm up to 22+ friendlies. If I may ask how did you come across my video and are you going to attempt to save them all yourself.
I get recommended a lot of random halo vids, AI battles, speedruns, and challenges this just came up with it. I probably won't do that I only do stupid stuff like shove as many vehicles into a scarab as possible on the Ark level lol
Damn fine job, max i saved was 10 marines in total, however i think 11 is possible, just very difficult. On the ramp, 1 is scripted to die but 4 arent. 2 near the bags can be saved as long as the infection forms are popped. The marine on the ramp carrying an AR, not SMG, can get infected very easily, Without a form touching him. I saved him once by luck, but it seems the only way to achieve that is to kill all the infection forms on the ramp instantaneously just as they land or before. so its 4 from ramp, 2 by sand bags, 1 near the interior door, 2 by the factory sandbags, 2 by the far-side cargo area. In total, 11 marines, 5 allied elites and i think 4 from the dropship in the background. 3 marines have scripted deaths, 1 on the ramp, suicidal marine and flamethrower marine, not sure about the dude that chills with him though (on the high ground). 19 allies in total that can be saved. + Great video, it takes commitment! I liked your vid, good luck on trying the impossible.
Thanks for watching my video. If you look in the comment section and the description I put a guide on how I did it. Fyi it's 20. Not 19. 11 Marines plus 9 elites. I have a way to save the 11th Marine but he is scripted to auto transform regardless of the infection forms and I haven't figured out a way to save him and the rest in one trial run. The 4 elites at the end can live but it's a role of the dice.
sorry bad math, its near midnight right now, as i written that comment i was getting a little tired XD. Good luck , i lost my patience once trying to save all those in the ramp (arbiter AI is incompetent). Did ya know that in Delta Halo you can get a total of 8 marines instead of the usual limit of 4 by exploiting spawn zones and conditions? Can only be done on mcc because of Feather skull.
I cant tell you how many times i restarted this level, gave marines shotguns, physically pushed them through areas they weren’t meant to continue walking through, all to get them to the end alive
In the first part where all those Marines get infected before you go inside I have saved all those Marines before in a similar way but I just don't remember how I did it and I can't recreate it but I think I did it the exact same way you did it which was just shooting the flood infection forms and then letting them mostly handle the combats
Rayaquary1 : It's good to see I'm not the only one that has attempting this. But so far this is the only way I've been able to save them. I haven't figured out a way to save all 4 Marines from the clearing since the last one will auto-transform regardless. If you figure anything else out let me know. If I may ask, how did you come across my video? And are going to attempt to save them all as well?
Xavier Amador bro you did a lot better than me I think when I did it the one or two times I think I threw a grenade the second time and killed two of them and I think the first time maybe one of them died but it's pretty tricky and I guess I would have to round up all the infection forms into a close enough proximity to actually pop them all like you did.
Rayaquary1 : believe me this was not easy in the slighest. There's another 35+ mins out game play failing, restarting and get screwed by the checkpoint system. How'd you come across my video?
Xavier Amador it was the lives of the flood definitive version and I got to thinking what if anyone else is trying to save most of the Marines on Floodgate and I saw your video at the top
Weapons Complex one time i saved the scripted marine because i accidentally grenaded him off rip and it somehow glitched him and he came back to life. He never moved or anything but he’d have dialogue
While did spend a great deal doing this. Most of that time because I simply never beat the level and reset checkpoints. If I rush it about 1hr overall.
@@WeaponsComplex Honestly, didn't even know you could bring the marines that far. At the section before the elites arrive, I thought they just stood around in the warehouse and wouldn't follow you. I assumed the AI was simply being disagreeable, and that's why it was so time-consuming. Nevertheless, I wouldn't have the patience for this :D

The flame guy and suicide guy are indeed scripted to die :( I never realized there were this many marines that could follow you, looked kinda cool. Reminded me of the end of 343GS in Halo 1. Tried to save those 2 guys you find in middle of that level as well every time I played the level, but it couldn't be done. I was so scared as a kid to fight flood that I wanted the marines to give me company but they never made it.
I love this video man. I remember always trying to save as many Marimes as I could playing through this level as a kid. I specifically tried the most trying to save the flame thrower Marine, it seems like he’s setup for failure though. I found you through my recommendations btw. Edit: after reading some comments it seems he is indeed scripted to die. Sad
Xavier Amador Well, i've always liked saving marines in halo, and i tried many times to find a video like this but no success. Now i would recommand you To keep you vidéos different and original like this. So try To make things that havent been done before. This Will help you To get more views and subscribers. RU-vid is a hard business but if you do right choices, you could become popular. Best of luck
Clovis Hawk I actually got that one consistently. All you have to do is get every warthog until the one at the dam. In other terms, you’re starting a convoy. I would recommend doing this with all marines having a BR55 or Beam Rifle, it makes it easier to kill the enemies. You will also need to know the loading barrier that triggers the chopper to go (they’re already spawned but their AI is deactivated). Your marines should make quick work of them if you allow them to go before you. DO NOT go past the loading barrier, that triggers the AI to activate (I learnt this the hard way). Though the warthog, once saved, is glitched as the marines will not go past the checkpoint barrier in the cave. You will have to drive that one after recovering all the warthogs though (I’m a perfectionist when playing Halo 3).
2 years Old video but I heard someone mentioned that you saved all of the marine I'm surprised that they follow you through the gate area where the flame marine and the crazy marine is at.
Yup. Not sure what Bungie did to fuck that up. They'll follow you till the end of the mission. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tP-weUua_fM.html The link I posted is to a slightly more updated video/playlist for doing this.
What difficult You played? Because are 5 elites (when stop fall) in easy and normal or is for the cooperative only 2 elites? PD: You would rescue allá marines and elites in all missions
If I remember correctly. It's for 1 of 2 reasons. Because the gravity hammer does bonus melee damage (not just the gravity swing) Or because the hammer somehow makes chief taller and so the flood will do whatever I need them to do sooner when they hit the ground.
CCKillbilly : Congratulations. You ain't the only one. Yeah it's a very tedious process. Honestly the hardest part is the checkpoint systy and the many many times of friendly fire between the ai. If I may ask how did you come across my video and are you going to attempt to save them yoursel
Please read the description and comments made by me. Also there's a more detailed step by step playlist on my channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tP-weUua_fM.html
It actually should have been this. But unfortunately Bungie didn't know how to do AI pathing for shit. So the Marines couldn't walk up some stairs on their own.
To me they are. Luckily most of the halo games have something of the sort. That's for the comment and view. If I may ask how did you come across my video?
Blade Daley: Believe me if they did no one would get it (except me). Mainly because haif of the Marines technically aren't supposed to live. I barely managed to figure out a way after years of trial and error.
Believe me it's difficult. If you want to try for your self use the playlist on my channel, it's much easier to follow. If may ask how did you come across my video?
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tP-weUua_fM.html When you make it to the warehouse you need to go up the stairs triggering the next checkpoint. This way when you start pushing them they won't move out of the way.
@@ethansuvanto3687 well luckily the regenerator can recharge the shields of the elites. The Marines have a flat amount of health that can regenerate. But if they take too much damage from you or plasma weapons they will die quickly. Especially those that are saved in the courtyard outside of the warehouse. Your best bet is to simply make sure they don't have a chance to fight at all. Because more often than not the elites and Marines will end up accidentally killing each other rather than the flood/covenant themselves.
MOOD FM : MF DOOM : turns out you were right. it doubles the health of all Marines. Problem is the ones I try to save only have like 3 shots of health.
Xavier Amador in the game battlefield there is a medic class used to heal and revive teammates. But most of them just run around not healing or reviving team mates. In this video master cheif is trying his hardest to keep his team mates alive. Unlike the medics in battlefield
Fadil Mujezin : ah that's what you are referring to. Yeah I know that very well. Not many team players. Fortunately Master Chief can prevent any death.
Thx for 420 blaze it like. Took a long time but I did it. If I may ask how did you come across my video and will you attempt to save the Marines as well?
