I can't pinpoint why, but seeing Jake appear on camera to thank everyone for watching the Before You Buys this year seems so wholesome to me!:) As someone who has been tuning in for the daily Gameranx video upload (Top Ten list video, Friday Show, Before You Buys, and so on) every single day this year, I genuinely want to thank everyone on the Gameranx crew (Jake, Falcon, Andrew, etc.) for putting in the time and effort to make the daily videos possible. The work that you all put in behind the scenes making videos for people like me to enjoy on the daily should never go unnoticed, so thank you! :D

What you said about the "floaty" warthog is entirely true. I can't count how many times the warthog has flipped over in multiplayer because of a small bump. It's feels too light, like it's the same weight as the mongoose. It's practically a more mobile tank, it should feel heavier and more steady on the ground.

I will say as a huge Halo fan the missions in the tunnels from nexus to silent auditorium were super awesome. I've seen a lot of people/reviewers complain about them and from an outsider (not a huge halo nerd) I can understand why. However, if you are a huge halo nerd or just remember playing ce, 2, and 3 you will love the tunnels architecture as it brings back rooms, spaces, scenery not seen since there respective halo installment. One example, (spoiler free) is the gondola from Halo 2 making its return in one part, etc. so if your a big halo fan you don't gotta worry about that part

I've just finished this for myself, I was going into it very critical as I really did not like 4 or 5. But I can honestly say this is a great halo game, very good reset which we needed. Good 8 to a 9 out of 10 for me. Very well needed for the franchise.

“Co op is coming later” I miss the days where games just came out fully finished and ready

My body is ready

Just finished the campaign, it's soooooooo good. Really like the direction they took and turning Halo into one humongous sandbox experience was a great move. Now I'm going through in Heroic, then legendary 👌🏾👌🏾 Seriously well executed game.

If Cyberpunk 2077's release had a silver lining, it was scaring 343 into delaying Halo Infinite

Only review I've seen where it's real spoiler free, it's one of the reasons why you guys are the best gaming channel.

I feel Halo: Infinite is going to go the way of Games as a Service, but in terms of using Infinite as a platform to launch large scale DLC content, so there won't be a Halo: Infinite 2, but a fluid continuation. It'll be modular, as Multiplayer and Campaign being separate has already shown.

Anytime I'm on the fence about buying a game, I rely on you guys to make up my mind for me lol So, thank you gameranx for all the time and energy you've spent giving us good, honest, and informative reviews

I know it's an impossibility because of pattent protection, but imagine the campaign with the Nemesis system...that might give some variety from game to game and expand the longevity.

I've been playing Halo since I was old enough to hold a controller and I'm finally feeling that excitement come back with this new installment. I've been loving the Multiplayer and can't wait to dive back into the story

Huge fan from CE day 1. This game brought me back to the days of "good Halo" with something fresh and I Loved it. Good story, nice gameplay and just fun moments that actually made me laugh (mostly me dying).

I'm enjoying the gameplay in multiplayer, and the way they seem to have set up the open world seems like they could just continuously add new world to explore with similar objectives, but different bosses and new designs and enemies. I can see alot of room for them to make some great content for this game

wholesome intro c: have been watching almost all before you buys for a long time now and I gotta say, the format doesnt really get old for me and seeing all the stuff about a new game comprised in one video is so convenient But most important: I really like the positive vibe you give off when talking about gaming and trying to be positive even when mentioning objectively bad stuff, but also not leaving out the negatives It's just cool to see someone make videos when you know they are also just real fans of gaming c:

[No Spoilers] The repitition isnt as bad this time around since the gameplay is so smooth and a blast. And to kind of explain the open world mission layout, if you love halo and destiny, you will LOVE every second of this.

Great gameplay but the story lacked BIG time. They should call it, "Halo: Infinite Podiums". It was small scale and I was surprised when I finished it. Nothing really stood out and the end left me unsatisfied. 343 just still hasn't figured out that Bungie formula. A shame.

The "Open-World" is a Hub World. Its like a living Lobby. Its where you start Missions/travel to and where you Go after Missions. The Activitys you can do there are Not necessary you can strait up go to the next Story Mission

This the only RU-vid channel that really actually feels like they appreciate the viewers.

The thing is, while it is true Halo Infinite is an open world game, you can't let your pre-conceptions of that get in the way. You gotta just play it like Halo. The open world activities are simply a vehicle that 343 used to hand-craft interesting Halo combat encounters. In my opinion, using the open world to the game's advantage gave me one of the most widely varied Halo gameplay I've had to date. I'm a Halo vet, been playing since I was a kid playing the DEMO of Combat Evolved on a laptop. Halo Infinite feels like a _Master Chief simulator._ Go play it

I have completely love this game. Introduced on my series X with the Early multiplayer we got, thought it was seamless and unbelievably smooth. And now to be decently into the campaign now, so far I'm a huge huge fan. Looking forward to seeing how the second half of the campaign goes. Thanks for this video man!

When I'm interested in a game I almost always look for a before you buy anymore, and it's made me buy a few and not buy a few, you guys put in a lot of time Into the Info and opinions you put into your videos and it's made me realize I can trust you judgment just as much as I can one of my gamer buddies, cuz that's basically the way I see you guys. Stoked for this new Halo experience no doubt, I look forward to more content from you guys. ✌

343 had a mammoth task with this one. There was so many boxes to check off: Keep fans happy, engage with new fans and get them interested without terrifying them, make an amazing multiplayer that will hold up for years, keep the battle royale fans happy, keep the forge and co-op fans happy (hopefully they will when it launches). This is an unenviable task really. Plus trying to spice things up with an open world but not falling for the pitfalls of most open worlds. With so many things to go wrong, there's definitely gonna be gamers who are unhappy with some elements. Overall, considering how much fun multiplayer is and how much time they took to polish the game, it looks like they pulled off a great game. Really excited to play this on Dec 8! Imagine they allow forge on the campaign map. That would be insane. The new forge world lol

trust me... youll love every second of it.. you will immediately attached as u jump into the game for the first time. the gameplay is so smooth and fluid on ultra setting. bravo

The game is not bad.

I love running around with the AI marines. If you have special weapons at your FOB you can give them to the AI and drive around in the modified warthog. I run with 2 volatile skewers, an m41 tracker, an arcane sentinel beam, and a tracker hydra. It's amazing. My marines won't even let me run anyone over before they light up what's on screen.

I will never forget the day when I found this channel through a before you buy video. The best part is, the before you buy was about an obscure game that I can’t even remember the title to and yet I loved the before you buy format ever since I stumbled onto it.

I have played so many halo campaigns coop (playing for the first time, getting through reach atm) with my friend and i honestly can't imagine wanting to play a campaign solo. I feel like these games are made for split screen coop. Without it, I can't say for sure I would want to play.

I'll be honest. First, good to see Halo going back to its roots and I think this game will be good. However, pretty disappointed if there are no variety in biomes. All of the Halos (at least the ones that took place on the installations), had unique mission biomes and it is a significant miss if that isn't in this game. Just thought that issue was forgiven and underplayed a little in the gameranx review.

Best Halo campaign in the 343 era. I still think the OG trilogy and Reach beat it, but this is a huge step in the right direction. I'm excited for Halo's future

Having a mode where some people play Spartans and some play banished trying to defend a base would be dope. They made a huge open world might as well use it.

Honestly, I just played it on PC, and I loved it. It's probably my favorite campaign. And that's honestly the interactions between the new Cortana and Chief. Like, it's great. And I liked the pilot that saved Chief right at the start of the game. The game plays great and I couldn't stop playing it.

Halo 1, 2 and 3 are def the best ones of the series and have the best single player campaigns overall

Imagine how fun the flood will be on this open world

Biggest thing is I don't see $60 worth of content. Every Halo since Reach has just shipped progressively with less. It isn't acceptable.

I think the game is going to be really good but I really like story driven games so it not being super story heavy is kind off a bummer for me but I do also really like the whole going around the map in a warthog and stuff because that’s just awesome

Bottom line, I love this game I can’t put it down. I must’ve played it at least 15 times and still loving it.

I am looking forward to playing this no doubt, it looks fun. Honestly though with just the one biome, no coop, only 10 multiplayer maps at launch, no forge… the game just looks skimpy compared to the grand feeling experiences of picking up one of the older halo games on launch. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they delayed and didn’t release a buggy mess, but I still can’t help but feel a little disappointed by the amount of content on display here at launch.

Regardless if you’re a halo fan or not you gotta admit it’s really refreshing to see a game drop smoothly. Early release for multiplayer and the whole game free on game pass. Compared to other game drops.

I actually love that halo took a open world route I love when games do so , some dislike it but I love single mission to mission bore me after awhile open world just has random mission and encounters , I’m actually bummed I didn’t buy it sooner

Cheers to new Halo. Looks dope. With so many games receiving game-changing updates or perhaps on the nostalgic side of things, getting “remastered,” how about a new program called “Remember (game title)?” Or a “Since you Bought.” Yeah that last name was terrubuul. I think it’d be cool to shoutout the devs who made good on failed releases, and re-up their incentivizing content with the wonderful practicality and attention-to-detail Gameranx is known for. Cheers to a good 21’ for the channel, all the same.

I think what makes the difference between good open world games and "repetitive" ones comes down to how enjoyable the movement is from place to place. Most open world games' movement consists of just "run in this direction", but if you're instead driving there in a Warthog that has a turret and goofy physics and then be able to switch to other vehicles and use a grapple to get around steep terrain then the movement is enjoyable.

Haven't played it yet, but as a long time Halo fan, I really hope that 343 releases expansive, diverse locales for campaign DLC. The changing and dynamic environments in the other Halo games are what made me absolutely love the story initially. Everything felt so sweeping and I always felt like I was floating and never ready for the next great vista!

Glad to see that 343 is FINALLY learning. Halo just hasnt felt like itself since 343 took over. Now, if they could get the multiplayer in a better spot, i'd be a happy halo fan.

This game is absolutely fantastic. I'm in love with what they've done this time with the whole open-world aspect. It was risky seeing as how Halo campaigns have mostly been straightforward and "to the point," but holy hell they did great. The campaign here is fun, explosive, and keeps you engaged everywhere you go. This isn't your typical open-world shooter, not even close, this is Halo new-era. The gameplay, the story with how much it is, the power that each gun gives you the feeling of when firing, it's all amazing and it feels new and explosive, yet it's something entirely new. We definitely haven't seen anything like this in Reach or Halo 5 but it still doesn't stray too far from those paths and delivers what a lot of us love to see and feel in a first-person shooter. You really do feel the game when you're playing, the power you get. Whether you're a Halo fan or not, it does things so well. I'm hooked and I can say, for me at least, that it's one of the best Halo games ever.

What excites me the most is that more campaigns are on the way.

I’m actually happy that they are combining halo wars with halo now. As a huge halo wars fan. That’s just nice to actually see. Maybe we will see like a banished base ripped right from halo wars 2 in first person mode. That would be sick

I remember the selling point during the games development was the new enemy we would encounter. Honestly we only ever fight them like twice in the story and you rarely encounter them in the open world. And I mean rarely. You'll probably forget about them rather quickly. Also because they can be dispatched just as easy if not easier than a grunt.

Halo Infinite is my favourite since CE. Infinite was amazing for me. I've played them all. And completed all the Bunjie ones on legendary. 4 and 5 I didn't like, but this one is brilliant.

I really hope that when they add co-op. It allows you to pick your personal spartan from multiplayer. That would be a nice little feature.

Tip for the grappling hook. If you need to escape quickly, hide fast or just travel fast. Use the grappling hook and right before you reach the end you hold the sliding button to slide VERY fast and very far

I am happy with the focus on the particular feature of the open-world concept because it was something that annoyed me 5 minutes into leaving the first 'main mission'. I can appreciate the move to this style of game, but there is something so exasperating and annoying about having to travel across a map and have various encounters and complete a laundry list of tasks versus having a packaged up 'level' for you to play. Certain games have mastered this and made it enticing to explore and have numerous 'side quests', take Dark Souls. Truthfully, ODST had some open world exploration and hidden secrets, but there was this continuous push and direction towards the main event of the 'mission'. Maybe I am just too focused on this particular facet, but Halo to me should have kept to the old style of campaign and thus previous Halo games still take the cake for me for campaign (Love me some Reach or Halo 3).

Excited to get into the game! Been loving the feel of the guns in multiplayer so far, will be nice to shoot some grunts with them😁

The levels actually made previous halo games feel huge cause you were always on different planets seeing different wars it really always gave a great sense of scale in that universe. This game being open world is a step back in my opinion cause it means we only get to see one place all the time.

not having co-op feels weird

This is the only good series/video that actually goes in depth into games and show us the basics of what it is. Thank you so much for doing that.

The grappling hook is the most useful equipment in this game, I can use it for faster movement, climbing high spot and also very useful for combat. I rarely use weapon.

I can already tell this game will be a massive success. If its fun, if its sandbox, if it looks and feels like combat evolved halo fans will love it Filled side missions and collectibles wont really matter
