My girlfriend left me because I spent 90 buck on this game instead of taking her to a fine dining with the money. It doesn't matter anyway Women are temporary Doom is Eternal.
I love how in Doom 2016, a common complaint was how Doom Slayer looked generic and uninteresting. In response to this, Id Software gave him a fucking Predator suit and it’s glorious.
The global pandemic is the demon evasion on Earth. That's why the government is encouraging gamers to stay home and play Doom Eternal. So they can "Rip and Tear until it is done"
Sport:an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
Low key I’m curious if that was one of the names they suggested along with a list of other possibilities before they went and decided to give it its official name
I held off buying this but played doom 2016 and this back to back and really enjoyed both of them. Feeling th differences so close together makes me love eternal even more. More strategy is required in eternal because of the decreased ammo where as in 2016 I could just use my preferred weapon. The lore In eternal is great. I could t out the game down until I beat. Will have to play it again through nightmare .
I only preo order a game when I'm absolutely sure that the game is going to be good, that only happened with smash ultimate and dmc 5,i just didn't did the same thing with doom eternal because I'm planning to buy a new mouse and keyboard first
Yes i didnt play it yet and i saw a few video say it has heaven be your enemy too didnt got the chance to play cause when the first stock arrive it sold out so have to wait for more to arrive it pretty suck cause in my country we dont have gamestop or Walmart only few small gaming store
@@comicbookprodigy995 if the Maykrs are aliens, then so are the demons. They're both multidimensional cosmic entities, they're literally the doom-verse equivalents of heaven and hell, and heaven is just as evil as hell.
@@Nineball459 You're making assumptions. Go back and read the codex entries. They specifically state that the Maykrs went to an already established Hell and made a deal with the demons: If the Maykrs gave them multi-dimensional travel, the demons would continue feeding on souls to make argent energy for the Maykrs. The Maykrs are false idols. Nothing more.
I’ve been playing it for the past couple of days and I love it. I played a doom 2016 multiple times, and was super excited for this one. I’ve played the first 4 missions and am occasionally overwhelmed with all of the combat abilities from time to time, but I know that I’ll have it down soon. The dashes provide a whole new level of action and ways to get across the battlefield and it’s awesome. I love how they expanded on the size and length of the levels, and how long they take. I also love the inclusion of more bosses to take on than Doom 2016. I won’t spoil who they are, but it feels like they have more personality and buildup thank the ones in 2016. The arenas are also bigger and cooler than ever, and the game throws more demons at you, which is definitely a bonus. Another favorite of mine is the slayer gates that you can play in each level. They really ramp up the difficulty and challenge you once you enter them.
I felt overwhelm first 10 hours of gameplay or so but then you get better and better and start to get more proactive with your gameplay . It's all about hours and repetitive gameplay that you get better at every situation with every tools
Jake, I love how you review games. You give solid commentary while not being afraid to admit you’re partial to things, cause you’re human. A lot of reviewers are like robots but I prefer gameranx because the passion shows.
I remember and will never forget the first time I played Doom at a friends place back in 1995. Going home and telling my parents I want a computer so I could get Doom, then 5 months later my parents got me a computer for my school studies. But they made sure it was also good enough for gaming, now 25 years later I've played Doom Eternal and I love it. Some of the platforming is the only thing keeping me from saying it's the perfect game, it comes so close to perfection. I love Doom (2016) and now Doom Eternal and I hope it gets a sequel. But all that said there isn't a Doom game that I don't love, to me they're all great and Doom Eternal is just my new favourite in the long running franchise.
Doom 2016 was horrible. I got it for 6 dollars and felt like I wanted my money back. Was boring, repetitive in a bad way and the game did not in any way allow me to indulge myself in violence by limiting my ammo and only giving me a lot of ammo when there wasn’t enough enemies and the fight ends in a few seconds
They need to make a multiplayer game where one person is doom guy and then say 10-15 other people are regular zombies and the more points they get doing damage etc they can get better demons
that'd actually be extremely fun especially if, at least at first, they died just as easily as in the game but respawned very quickly. Maybe dont make them be REGULAR zombies tho lol they cant even catch up to doomguy but a fodder demon would be cool
I was only annoyed about ammo at the very start, the game lets you upgrade your ammo capacity pretty early on and it makes a huge difference. Overall, IMO this is the best shooter since Far Cry 3 in late 2012.
@@blackeditzz1 Personally, DOOM Eternal is one of my favourite games of all time. DOOM (2016) was great, but Eternal is just better in every way. I'd recommend getting it, as well as both of the DLCs - really enjoyed the entire game apart from the multiplayer "Battlemode" - wasn't much of a fan of that. :)
_Doom: Eternal_ looks like one of those games where I'll be screaming *_"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!"_* throughout the whole thing
You’re a really pissed off Grey Knight and you just got dropped into the results of a Khorne-worshiping cult. _Rip and tear for he who sits upon the Golden Throne!_
the bugs that ive experienced so far are 1) sometimes when you finish clearing an area after a battle sequence, the game doesnt understand you finished and wont let you progress to the next area because the door doesnt open or unlock so i have to reload the checkpoint. 2) theres one part where you have the hazmat suit and you finish doing something and a timer starts for you to get out, i was hit my electricity and took damage, okay thats fine, but the game kept damaging me until i died and even after it resurrected me because i had like 9 extra lives i kept taking damage till it burned through SEVEN LIVES and the game safety netted me and reloaded the whole checkpoint. but the whole time i thought it was because i wasnt going fast enough. 3) sometimes during intense fight sequences and i use the ice bomb, blood bunch, flame belch all at the same time whatever survives becomes invisible. and still tries to damage me. i only noticed when it happened to a baron of hell and you could see its fire things flying around trying to cut me up. thats all that comes to mind at the moment but man do i fucking love this game
Joseph Douek bro it really doesn’t matter, you should definitely play Doom 2016 before playing this game. If you want to dive into the past, you should totally play the classics
@Joseph Douek i feel like doom 64 would explain a little bit of story even tho we don't know if they're connected so if u would like some lore then 64 first then eternal but if u are here for the badass demon slaying then eternal idk u choose
Haha yeahh, I didn't need anymore convincing. If anything I just need to find the best place to buy it for the best price, as much as they do deserve the money for the effort they put in, I kinda' can't spare much at the moment.
o1h8 dude I’m looking at my screen, thinking if I should buy this game, lol I had played the 2016 doom , but I didn’t get to finish it & got stuck on a part & I stopped playing it
Manuel Talavera if u enjoyed 2016 then u should cop eternal, u can always lower the difficulty from what u had in 2016 since Eternal is a bit harder than 2016
Gonna get a gaming desktop and now I’ll definitely wait to get this on pc, thank you for commenting on what console the game feels smoother on, i watch these before i buy almost any game and i have always watched them a lot, i appreciate your channel a lot.
One thing that you can do to majorly help your experience, when playing on a console is to remap your buttons in a strategic way. Get jumping and dashing off of the face buttons so you can keep your thumb on the aiming stick while still having full mobility. I did that and other things like remapping the flame, belch and grenade launcher to clicking the joysticks, and it honestly made a big difference in the way that I play the game. Still, I do dream of the day that I get a nice enough PC for this game.
i just started my doom 2016 playthrough and first thing i did is put jumpt on l1 , but sadly i couldnt get the weapon weal on r1 wich is necesary , but while typing this i realised ps5 has a remapping option , i just remap triangle with r1 lol thanks :D cant wait to start Eternal
Just built a killer PC not too long ago. Played this game last night after watching this review and it’s fucking awesome. 170 frames 1440p on max settings and ray tracing it’s one of the nicest looking games I’ve ever played easily. Excited to play more of it
@Ef77 I don't understand this opinion. Eternal is just 2016, with better weapon balance, a much faster pace, better progression and an actual story. And a much more interesting multiplayer. They might have gone a little overboard on the platforming, but other than that, Eternal is just better.
Hey, you seem like you know what your talking about do you think you can check out my top 10 games of 2020 and give me feedback? Doom eternal and many other good game are featured on it
I don't know, I'm a pc gamer but I also love my consoles, I can play just as well on a controller, feed back is more satisfying. I also completed doom 2016 on my switch in ultra violence multiple times and nightmare a couple while in portable mode and I don't find the controls that difficult, people make the mistake of pushing up the sensitivity or not enough sensitivity and call it a day. Tweak the options and you'll have a much better time of it
@@churchtriv4150 First of all, I would say that when someone is able to handle both control units equally good, then this person would prefer mouse and keyboard for sure for almost every game genre. The only one where I would switch to a controller is with 2D or 3rd person 3d platformers. Saying that the feedback is better on controller rather tells me that you either have no good mouse and keyboard or aren't that good at it. Also the console comparison makes no sense since you are also able to play with controller on pc. And this makes even less sense when you bought the game on multiple platforms, when you already can play with both on pc???
@@absence9443 because I have a disability where it effects my joints and muscles so most of my down time I'm laid up on either my sofa or on my bed, playing with a mouse and key board isn't always viable to me so majority of the time it isn't a viable option to me and also my partner uses my pc too to play her games and create art
This game is definitely worth it! A game like this is very hard to find these days! It is important to know the weakness of the enemies and I think if you master the sticky bomb it will help a LOT
Nice! How are you liking it so far? I bought it on Bethesda game launcher the first time. Had to reinstall windows and forgot to save my game files. So now I bought it on steam cause of the sale right now. Too good.
omegadecisive good decision. Doom 2016 looks like it’s the warm up for this, it was badass and I still talk about that game with all my friends. Idk if I’ll be able to go back afterwards. Lol.
It's definitely harder than Doom 2016. But that's only until you get used to juggling your new loadout. Once that happens. It becomes much more forgiving. My first playthrough I died an obscene amount and found the boss battles to be a little bit excessive. My absolute favorite element to the game were the slayer gates. So intense and fun!
Don't you think, that it's a rather big inconvenience to sit through a lockdown, being bored as fuck, if you could use the time to play Doom? Do you really want to buy and play it, when everything blew over and you can enjoy time outside for the first time in weeks? And the best argument: in the unlikely case, that Corona goes full Plague Inc. and mutates to a deadly killervirus, would you really want to die before playing it? Sincerely, a Doom Marketing volunteer, who would appreciate job offers
I feel you man, some of us have kids and can't sit around playing games throughout the shutdown. Bills are their own beast too. Some of you have never had to budget and it shows.
Jay Plays I have Doom 2016 on Consoles and PC and the gameplay with controller was more fun to me since moving is so much more important than aiming. That being said Doom 2016 on consoles had texture pop-in issues that drove me crazy. Luckily doom eternal on X looks amazinh
Game looks amazing, but I'm going to be waiting for the Switch port. I have Doom 1-3, Doom 64, and Doom 2016 on the go, only feels right to get this for the same console.
This game actually makes me nervous before I jump down into a new territory of enemies with fire and lava and demon creatures flying and jumping all around hahah this game kicks ass!!
I had never played a doom game until this before, but I had heard about it and what it was like. I got this game and it was exactly the sort of thing I expected and I loved it immediately. I want to eventually get to play other doom games, but this was (in my opinion) a very good introduction.
I cannot wait for this game And just as was said, personally me I prefer controller than mouse, but hey, we all have our own preferences on these kinda things
Doom Eternal Campaign is perfect and so satisfying to me, played it for hours yesterday, I give it a 10/10. Haven't played Battlemode yet, will get to it eventually but that mode wasn't the reason i pre ordered Doom Eternal. Over all I freaking love this game.
Even if I don’t like the game you’re reviewing I still watch the first few seconds so I can say “And we’re back with another episode of before you buy. That show where we give you some straight up game play and our first impressions of the latest games releasing”.
Quick tip: even if you're quite experienced in FPS games, start the game off on the lowest difficulty setting. The learning curve is somewhat high, and it takes time to get used to the different demons and combat.
For me, it's better as a singleplayer game, not multiplayer. I guess they had to at least try to please everyone and glued on a multiplayer layer. I watched the game to the end, and it was fun, but it's too fast-paced for me to play. Wish I could see it 100% completed [the person I watched doesn't want to play anymore online, only in his own time].
Is it me or Doom Eternal is sort of the Rated M, Ultra-graphics, Ultra-fast Metroid Prime game we will never get. Just take a deep look: interesting lore, AMAZING music, hub area, 3d map, logs, collectables, kinecting shooting & fps platforming, etc. If this was a Nintendo game it would have like a 95 right now on metacritic.
@@godzilla7250 You may be right, I don't follow consoles anymore. But I did when I was younger. Nintendo used to shy away from this sorta thing. The original doom and mortal kombat come to mind. Nevertheless, I hope yer right.
Dude, let me tell you right here. Doom: Eternal has by far the best music along with satisfactory compared to any other game I've played. The gameplay is awesome, the story is awesome, the bosses are amazing, and I dig the gore. There's my opinion.
I’ve been playing a ton of JRPG’s this year so far. I really want this game to switch things up and it looks really fun. But I’ve never played DOOM 2016 and I don’t know if could play this or should I play DOOM 2016 first?
Play DOOM 2016 first!!!!! I left gaming for 10 YEARS and just came back and the first game to play was 2016 and HOLY SHIT what a ride , even I bought Eternal while I was at like at 20% in 2016 and didnt touch Eternal until I finished 2016 ....no regrets .
