there was a bug that completely erase your settings EVERYTIME you boot the game and the cinematics starts iirc. Instead of fixing it, they just get rid of them lmao
Nah. We really, REALLY don't need another Diablo 3 situation where the antagonist literally tells you their diabolical plan while laughing menacingly. Then they act all surprised when you stop them. It's beyond patronizing to the audience. This should have been scrapped before they spent all the time and effort making these.

Shame they cut these, this is great! ONI getting involved? That’s so cool! I hope we see these characters again, because I do like them. Agryna especially is way better than the previous seasons overly happy performance.
Man, as my first Halo Game, I would've loved to see this story to the end. The first time we're delving into ONI secrets. Or at least my first time, and they've done some gnarly stuff that needs justice.
One of my biggest criticisms with 343's stories is they try to bring ONI into the picture with secondary media and then cut it or for the final product. They did the same with Halo 5 with its promotional material, that podcast style thing.
If you enjoy lore and story’s. I recommend reading some books about halo and especially get halo Mcc and buy reach/halo odst! Games in order: Halo wars, Halo reach, halo ce, halo 2, halo 3, halo 3 odst, halo 4, halo 5, halo wars 2, halo infinite.
No freakin way! This was the cutscene where things actually started to get good. The blur one was great but it was mostly just build up. I would literally donate for them to keep this going! Maybe the new attention the game's been getting will provide the boost they need to press resume on the story
We can only donate by buying the battle pass or store items. Haven't spent anything since season 2, but I can see that they're really trying to build back trust, so I think maybe I will buy the pass this time 😁
343 needs to bring back the story, hopefully if the game population goes up (which it seems it will with all the new content) they'll go back to it. These cutscenes are too good and could even add to the campaign story--such a missed opportunity. Hopefully if the community voices how much they want cutscenes (unless I'm the only one who wants these cutscenes that bad) then maybe they'll consider it.
I'm not gonna lie, the animation and art is nice, but the writing has never been any good. I've always felt like I'm just sitting through the cutscenes rather than enjoying them (aside from season 3's intro cutscene which was dope)

They literally told us why on Twitter, resource management, they don't have enough resources so they cut the story animations and fired the team involved in those animations
They dint have enough resources to deliver the content people expect and do the story at the same time. Basically Microsoft just doesn't care about halo anymore, they're a multi-billion dollar company and they can't spare a few resources to keep the flagship of their console in a good state

Man. What was going on was actually interesting. I quite like that they seemed to have stepped back from the one cut style of camera by the end there. It actually works better than I thought it would. It would be nice if at some point they returned to this and finished them up. But right now their focus on content is the correct approach. I would like to see how the whole ONI taking over thing would play out.
Also, what a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Either Iratus successfully sends the data to the Banished or ONI just screws you over anyway

Something about iratus using those hooks as a desperate attempt to stop his termination kinda reminded me of portal 2 with the whole manipulating the environment thing Wheatley had going on while failing to squash you
Shame that the story was cut, these are so cool! I really hope that 343 returns to working on the MP narrative as well as a campaign DLC once they regain the required resources; which is hopefully sooner than initially expected, seeing Infinite in its current state.
This looks incredible and the academy arc was so engaging. Also, they introduced such interesting characters. I truly hope they finish and release this one day, cause this story deserves a proper ending. It’s bittersweet because 343i is doing such a good job with the in game content, but they keep scrapping every piece of story they have (not to mention campaign couch co-op which is almost finished).
Very grateful for you posting these. Seems like the layout of these seasons changed based on what’s finished. Honestly, just glad to see we didn’t miss a whole lot.

These could have been amazing, but they are ao underbaked, specifically the narrative and characters. Our introduction to the characters was "were all Noble 6 rip offs, or sometimes not" lone wolves BS. Maybe they can return at some point and take this time to flesh the characters.

The infection storyline wad indeed very dumb. Very cringy too, my spartan would never be apart of anything so ridiculous, this looks like a job for any of the classic Red vs Blue spartans.
Honestly glad they cut these since the multiplayer story was never engaging to begin with. "I'm a spartan, you're a spartan, let's go play multiplayer."
I mean, i wouldn’t mind if they retroactively added this finished cutscene to the game even if it’s part of the previous season. I would appreciate they same way I appreciate terminal videos on Halo 1 and 2
343 must be in absolute management hell if something like this got cut. literally finished just needs sfx no wonder so much stuff is getting lost in the shuffle
I’m really hoping they use this for the start of Season 5. It would be such a waste to throw this away. I’m also disappointed we don’t have a way to see the old cutscenes in-game, especially since it lets us use our custom Spartan. Watching them on RU-vid isn’t the same experience.
I hope they will return an option for cutscenes. But UI need real changes. It was a struggle to find a cutscene to rewatch. Maybe not cuteness but some comics or another type of narrative.

I actually think it would be nice to have some campaign/dlcs where you play as the master chief and then some dlcs/campaign where you play as your own spartan like it was in halo reach
So I guess the first cutscene would be the one that starts up when the season starts, second cutscene would be for the hazmat event and last one could either be for the containment event or last day of the season
I think they were cut because they didn't want to get even closer to the conclusion of this storyline when they knew they weren't going to actually complete it. Imagine if they got all the way up to some "This is it! Now or never, everyone!" moment, and then... nothing. I'd have liked to see them finish this story, but if they weren't going to finish it either way, it was better cut sooner rather than later.
I feel like it's a good thing they stepped back from it. I feel like Most of the events relied on the ''narrative'' to come out. It's the reason why we had to wait over 3 seasons just to get infection when the gamemode was already being tested since the first year. Kinda makes sense why season 5 is just adding long awaited gamemodes such as Extraction and Firefight without a narrative. Imagine if season 5 was just Extraction and THEN we had to wait for firefight in season 6
is there any word if season 4 these were cleaned up and there now coming to season 5? I hope when they said no more seasonal cutscenes they didn't mean they were 100% scrapping these ones that were already mostly done.
343 are such teasers to give us cool villians to never see the light of day again. i do hope they pick this back up in the future content when they feel ready with spending budget.
I loved this story! Like especially because the campaign’s story felt short and this extra storyline included our spartan. it’s a damn shame they cut it
I feel like eventually, they’ll get to a point where they can’t add anymore unique armors or color patterns, they can’t add anything new to main campaign, and they’ll have to do something with the cut content. I genuinely think having a mini campaign that you access in the Academy section of the game would be cool. They could make the cutscenes flow better and give us levels to play through, and replay at various difficulties and with skulls, search for secrets. And with each new chapter comes a new portion of player character campaign. They could also add a mission mode where we can earn currency.
How is there cut content when they have almost no content like this to begin with?! So much work and so many man hours clearly went into getting this almost entirely complete. What did they fire their entire audio team? (I unironically think they actually may have genuinely lost most of them tbh)
Would be cool to get PvE mission every month. For example intro cutscene, firefight with objectives, outro cutscene. Boom done! Too increase efficiency, we can have call of duty loading screen style animations. No need to animate characters.
