So this is how the Sanghieli conquered the Lekgolo. A single officer elite can absolutely demolish a hunter, and the infamous ultra elite with a conc. rifle can just flat out mow them down :0
Lekgolo, even without high tech suits, stalemated elites on the ground, they were that powerful. The covenant resorted to a truce after realizing there really was no way they could wipe out the lekgolo without destroying forerunner relics. And yes, I know this isn’t a serious comment, just wanted to leave this tidbit of lore here.
It should go without saying that these fights aren’t really canon portrayals, but the Lekgolo actually destroyed the crap out of the early Covenant in ground battles. It took threatening to glass their planet to force them to surrender to end the conflict.
Ultra elites in reach were a pain in the ass. In FF limited when 4 would drop in using the drop pod I knew I was fucked, super aggressive and they all rush together at once they routinely handed me my ass.
Ultra Elite with Concussion Rifle should be one of the super powered troops along with Yap Yap and Marshal Worts. Maybe give him a fully automatic Concussion Rifle or something.
1:05-2:07 is literally one of the best fights in my opinion of the whole video. It shows us that the Elites were are some of the best fighters of the covenant. 2 Thumbs up 😍
Last elite definitely had a more calculated approach, he knew that he didn't have a chance in a full-on clash and took what little stabs he could. A very "death by a thousand cuts" method was used by him. He was perhaps the most intelligent elite ever seen. His story will be told in legend.
Holy crap! I remember when Halo 2 first came out, and they busted down those doors - what an iconic moment! I was legit scared. And on legendary, at least, they were one of the biggest challenges I'd faced in gaming up to that point. Just kept dying and dying. So I absolutely wasn't expecting this! I knew the Reach Elites were tough, maybe the toughest in the franchise. But wasn't expecting it to be so lopsided!
Gonna be honest. That sangheili officer (Major... They were called officers in the Reach game. Supposedly they're a specialized infantry rank.), was amazing. Defeating a hunter in a 1 vs 1. Plus all those dodges. You could easily tell the difference in difficulty for the Minor and the Officer.
5:03 is just like Dragon ball. Episode 1- Field Marshall fighting Hunter. Episode 2- Field Marshall fighting Hunter. Episode 3- Field Marshall fighting Hunter. Episode 4- Field Marshall fighting Hunter. Episode 5- Field Marshall have help, end of the season Lmaoo 😂😂😂
I’m loving this arena. But the halo 2 hunters seemed very underpowered here? Pretty low hp and takes substantial damage even from plasma weapons not hitting past the shield. They also take a lot of damage from grenades, likely enough to 2 or 3 shot them, which they always shrug off in halo 2. I don’t even think they die that easy to the needler explosions, you can empty dual wielded needlers into them, getting 4 or 6 explosions and they still keep still and calm. But three combines from the rifle here not only completely resets their moving animations, but it shreds through them like soaked paper. Elites also dodge around most melee attacks that clearly hit them (they get sent much further than their normal dodge animations after the hunter shield touches their hit box, showing that they were sent flying per usual from a hunter melee.) Elites also take no damage from hits they clearly don’t evade (0:27) I always knew halo 2 hunters, actually a lot of units in halo 2 have melee hit boxes that are odd and only stay consistent in their game, but this is sad to see. Not to mention the hunters have abysmal reactions (1:42 the hunter pins the elite and breaks his annoying shield with two rapid shots then stops shooting, contemplates, and starts blindingly running toward him for no reason, giving the elite time to move and regen) The same thing happens at 0:23, but I understand the hunter going for the melee as no elite minor has the hp to withstand two clean hits from any hunter (unless it’s on easy mode.) The following hit sent the elite to space which was pretty entertaining but he should’ve been long dead. They were amazing in the arguably hardest campaign, so I hate it when the halo 2 hunters behave like a fish out of water.
juan fernandez No. difficulty to deal with in campaign as well as competence as an ally would beg to differ. The halo 2 hunters toyed with halo 2 brutes in the great journey, for example, and we all know that halo 2 brutes eat almost everything they face in this channel alive (including CE hunters, as we’ve seen) because they are broken. Halo 2 hunters also had to face the most amount of explosives in any campaign, and shrugged them off. The frag grenade was improved, plasma grenades were on every corpse, you could dual wield needlers, brutes carried grenade launchers and threw frag grandes, fuel rod cannons were common and equipable, there were mounted heavy machine guns everywhere, there were gauss warthogs and vehicular levels where things were sent flying by explosives often. And that is only part of the reason why Halo 2 hunters were born and raised in the most chaotic and unbalanced (still the most fun) sandbox of any campaign in the series. They’ve went through 3-way battles (turned 4-way if you decided to engage in the combat) between a squad of brutes (with explosives) and ultra elites (with explosives) and were the last enemy standing around 50% of the time (statistically.) Vehicles ramming in to them didn’t kill them. And unless you were on normal or easy, the two hunters in outskirts that break the gate also shrugged off the machine gun you were spraying them them with from the high ground (a more accurate version of the machine gun mounted on the warthog from CE.) It is definitely the case that their HP and damage scaling are messed up in this battle. Their AI also isn’t meant for these arguably smarter enemies from a game in the future, that’s true, but all hunters have less emphasis on AI, and I’ve already proven they are wacked out of their mind in this video. Halo 2 hunters are not stupid enemies. I will defend halo 2 units to the death. I will admit however, that reach hunters are even more imposing. They were made to be. Their melee is (literally) broken and they are fast as hell.
Halo 2 hunters also take 0 damage from player melee attacks, including Energy Sword. I think Brute berserk melee is special, and Halo 2 Hunters are actually immune to melee damage
Of ALL the races, The Hunters only truly respected The Elites, this was reflected by the fact that in Covenant Ground battles, Hunters committing friendly fire on Covenant forces during combat was frequent...except with the Elites, with whom ff was nonexistent, with the other races Hunters didn't care about them, but the Elites have their respect.
That elite at the end is a drama queen, you see how he kited the hunter over to the windows so when he dodges the hunter would break the window and it’d look cooler. The covenant definitely got their hands on a few action movies somewhere along the way
A room with 6 hunters Spartans: okay, let's plan this out, we need to get behind and give them hell on the exposed armour, while carefully watching out for the other ones. Reach elites: Haha plasma rifle goes pew pew
I kind of feel this is how it would go though. That it would come down to the prowess of both fighters. A standard Sangheili soldier wouldn't stand a chance against your common Mgalekgolo. But a feel a skilled Sangheili could defeat a revered Mgalekgolo. I'm sure Thel 'Vadamee could.
