Yeah, and was used in Halo 3, in a 'Cortana moment' too... Also, yeah, the augmentations did NOT take 6 years to do, as the script somewhat implied...

Fun fact: Samuel-034 was considered to be one of, if not the strongest of the Spartans. One could only imagine what kind of absolute beast he would have become if he didn't die so early.

Fun fact: any unique trait or achievement a Spartan had got taken by Kurt, Sam is no longer the tallest, Jorge not the strongest, Fred no longer the best leader, John no longer the highest ranked.(though Fred also stole that.) Ghosts of Onyx is one of my favorite novels but I hate Kurt about as much as AM hates humanity.

I dunno if someone has mentioned it or not, but that coin that Halsey gives to John is still on his person in Halo 3. There is actually a mention of a coin in the game and that was what it was referring to.

Fun fact one of the bases they trained at was called Currahee named after a real place that trained Paratroopers during the second World War. As paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines they were cut off and had to rely on each other with no guarantee of reinforcements or aid the motto same as the camp name was also Currahee which means "Stand Alone Together" based off a Cherokee word.

Can you guess? Luck. Was I wrong." -Cortana opening scene of halo 3 This line was written as a reference to the coin flipping part of the book that this movie is based on.

Installation 00 has good stuff too. His stuff goes in detail about many subjects in halo. Weapons, armor, vehicles. That kind of stuff.

Keep in mind, without the Spartan 2's humanity would have been annihilated. Either when the rings were activated by the covenant, or by the flood.

@@akoda8887 Well, the numbers of still active, non crippled Spartans by 2552 do not quite match yet - and there COULD have been a class 2, I guess. But they wouldn't be children, if so, by the likely time that happened (2545-47?)

@@chrissonofpear1384 I don't remember there being a class 2, and I doubt they would have made one quickly enough considering Halsey's draconian threshold for candidate selection. Any new spartan beyond this point would be a spartan 3. Edit : The wiki says Jorge went through training with all other Spartans 2, so I guess that's that.

@@akoda8887 Well, it was vaguely teased in the Bungie era, and speculated on by fans, but yes, it was never officially confirmed. Mostly considered apocrypha. I assume Jorge left the Spartan IIs, perhaps wounded in action, between 2532 and 2545, also (the latter being the likely formation date of Noble Team, as Kat was one of the founding members, and graduated around then)

Oh John wasn't the only one who was considered for the rank of squad leader, among these was Kurt-051, Fred-104, Jerome-092 and Margaret-053. These four would become leaders themselves Kurt became commander of the Spartan 3 program. Fred would take over command of blue team when chief was fighting on his own in halo 2 and halo 3 and 4 Jerome would become the leader of Spartan Red Team as seen in Halo wars 1 and 2 And Margaret would become leader of Spartan team Black.

The book Fall of Reach actually came out before Halo 5. They put the Spartans from the book into that game.

@@joshuagibson999 it came out to explain the backstory for the events in CE for people who were interested. I was a kid of 6/7 myself when I first play CE so I did not know there was a book and still have never read any of the books.

Only 41 of the original children conscripted became Spartan IIs. 36% died before or during augmentation an additional 15% were permanently disabled and incapable of being infantryman. John 117 was 14 on his first combat deployment as a Spartan II. He was 15 years old when he met Lasky in the movie Halo Forward Unto Dawn. At the beginning of the halo games he is 41 years old, at the end of halo 3 he is 42 years old when he goes into cryostasis. At the end of halo 4 he is 43 years old biologically(47 years since birth) because of cryostasis. At the events of halo 5 he is 43 almost 44 biologically (47 almost 48 years old actually according to birth date)

Tho the sad part is that Sam and Jorge both went out the same way. They both stayed behind to let the Nuke take out the covenant ship. Only difference is Jorge had to manually set it off as to where with Sam it was set and had to fight for 3 minutes till it set off fighting off elites, jackals and grunts with whatever he had.

John wasn’t taught how to fight he has already learnt how to fight from another lifetime, he was designed by the forerunners as the Librarian quoted in Halo 4 “you are a combination of a thousand lifetimes of planning” so The Master Chief was once called the Ico Didact by 343 Guilty Spark or Lord Admiral of Admirals by The Human Race and after the Halo Rings were activated by the forerunners to wipe of the flood from consuming the universe, John was reborn as The Master Chief we know today.

Here’s something scary for you. Nuclear weapons were later improved to better combat a covenant forces, and some nukes are actually used in some civilian sectors like asteroid mining. There are plenty of nuclear weapons in the UNSC arsenal, including space mines. And don’t get me started on the NOVA bomb.

I just subscribed and I love your reactions. BTW, most halo fans prefer halopedia over Halo Alpha, Halopedia is more up-to-date and accurate and has better moderation as a fan wiki. Also, the animated series is a condensed version of the original book by Eric Nylund, it is only about the first half of the book and even then, many of the events are missing or changed up. It's still decent, just disappointing for fans of the lore like me. Great video though!

That was me mentioning ONI that ONI is the true evil. :) The animated movie "Fall of Reach" is based on the novel "Fall of Reach" which came out 2001, around 2 weeks before the game Halo Combat Evolved. The movie is good but not as great as the novel. The movie is extremly cut and sadley very soften up. The book is darker, grittier and more brutal. Let's take the scene with the ODST for example.... in the book John crippled 2 ODST and killed 2 others. In the movie there are somehow only 3 ODST that got beaten up. Morgan.... get the books..... or better.... get the audiobooks :)

Great video! Just one negative point. Idk if it was just my speakers, but i found it very hard to hear the video you were watching. I kept finding myself adjusting the volume in moments where you weren't talking, then having to turn it down again so as not to blow out my ear drums.

sams helmet does not connect with his chest plate chiefs chest plate is broken therefore sam stayed behind for no reason

The chestplate is made to protect against bullets. The undersuit and helmet connected to the oxygen supply is for Space and hazardous conditions. Sam’s armor was melted through down to his skin so if he stepped out into space his organs would’ve been pushed out through the plasma hole in his armor and undersuit.

@Ofel Oktaf Purbayasa H4 had a great story (except for wasting the Diadact) and H5 has a good multiplayer bit 343i has issues pushing out a complete product and making both portions of the game good in one package. Infinite is their last shot for many Halo fans. But I do understand them having trouble trying to please both fan bases, at the end of the day, they need to stick with their vision cause if they try to please everyone then no one is happy.
