In this mission of Halo Wars, Professor Anders alerts Captain Cutter of what she saw down in the relic. She warns that Arcadia may be in danger and that they need to go there to figure things out. Captain Cutter orders the crew to make way to Arcadia. When they get there Arcadia City is under attack. Your job is to defend three cargo ships at the Spaceport to allow people to evacuate the city. This mission is known to be extremely difficult so I am going to be doing three separate videos for this mission showcasing three separate strategies in order to better assist you with this mission. In this video, we will be using the Hornets and how they are used in this mission. Prepare for multiple mission restarts. The amount of RNG on this mission is insane. I just lost cargo 1 and 2 with 19 minutes left on the clock twice in a row. I'd barely made it past spawn.

For real. The amount of RNG is ridiculous and you can only mitigate it so much with practice and preparation. Keep at it!

I’ve done this mission at least 90 times. Hornets are as far as I know the only way to get gold. Although rng on this mission is absolutely insane. Some games cargo ship one will be rushed with locus and hunters, others it will see little to no threats. Some games civilians will be under constant bombardment, others they won’t. A few things I noticed in this video. -Clearing the subway fast is absolutely 100% important. Get it cleared asap, for the full 5.0 time bonus. -Kill that mega turret. It’s not worth it to risk having it target a cargo ship and loosing gold. I typically would kill it around 10-5 mins with the Assigned assault hornets (6-8). It’ll be 20 seconds on the clock the cargo ship will have full health and boom, the mega turret locks on and game over. -Do not loose any of your starting hornets. Or any troops/building in general. Budget 1-2 hornet deaths (typically 1 lost on the mega turret, one from bad luck). -build the expo base, but self destruct it after built so you can continuously kill the covenant base and gain lots of combat bonuses. -lastly only save cargo ship 2, one is extremely sketchy to hold with the rng. The faster you loose cargo ship one the better (meaning all the civilians will board cargo ship 2 instead of being wasted on 1). Also you only have to one civilian route instead of two. So you get more civilians in general. Even with all that it’ll still probably take you more then a few try’s. Took me too many to count. 95% of the time I’d get it all perfect but loose in the last minute (typically to that mega turret or a stray sacrifice banshee). But really it comes down to combat bonus/time and the secondary objectives. (Don’t worry about getting 1000).

I don't know how you can possibly say at 8:45 in this video that you had never seen a force that big attacking you. That is nothing. I have done this 20-30 times and I get locusts by that point every single time. I will make us safe to try a few times. And if I defend cargo one, they destroy my base before I can even fly to them. If I defend my base, they destroy both ships before I can even fly to them. I don't know how you're not getting locusts the second you hit 15 minutes. Edit This particular try I have locusts destroying the first drop ship with 18 minutes left. dropship 3 destroyed at 18:45.

Arcadia city is one of my most hate mission first of all even though you try to defend cargo letter on they will send 2 vampires, 4 banshee and hunter like yow wtf and second is that little problem there us that grunt equip with kean and last is when you are about to reach 1 minute take note that mega turret gonna fire at your base or to your units

I have no shame at all, to come on here to find out on how to get through this level. I've gotten bronze on all levels but this one. And those spartans are $hit on here, one with the mini gun just sits right behind cargo 1 while it's being destroyed, and if one of them high-jacks a banshie, they'll float in between both cargo ships. *TIP* At the start of this level, save the game so you don't have to set through that 2nd BS cut scene every time.

This mission really be a pain and was difficult to predict the RNG every time. Practice will get you through it all, and smart to save the game at that point. Annoyed me that I had to keep rewatching the cutscenes at times.

Those spartans are useless on here. One sat right behind cargo ship 1 while it's being destroyed, and 2 others high-jacked some banshies and float in between both cargo ships and did nothing. *Tip* At the start of this level, save the game so you don't have to set though that 2nd BS cut scene.

Will I receive more points if I destroyed the Convent base later on during the mission or will I receive the same amount of points if I build the the UNSC base first without having to destroyed the Convent base?

This guide does not match my experience at all. Even with skulls, my troops take significantly longer to kill anything, ship 3 blows up at least 30 seconds before yours, and there is a huge battalion of hunters attacking cargo 1 as soon as cargo 3 blows up before I even have a base. Cargo 1 is destroyed around the 17 min mark

I definitely understand. This mission is the most difficult mission in the game and it takes a lot of practice to pull it off. The RNG in this mission really makes it difficult to make a one video works for everyone strategy, but I can give a few tips to hopefully make this easier for you. First, forget about saving two cargo ships. Concentrate on one of them and make sure you really put everything there. Half of your hornets should be there protecting it and half clearing the map and protecting your base. Second, your heal/repair ability is extremely useful and it should be used ALL the time. Whenever you get a chance to use it, use it. Third, Remember that even though our experiences are different in game, the way the AI go is the same. So those banshees that come, they always go there so keep your units farther from the ship so the banshees don't damage the ship. Utilize your abilities (MAC and Heal/Repair) and remember that the game is scripted to be the same for everyone, the only thing different: RNG. Practice is the best counter to RNG because you pick up on patterns and can predict it. I hope this helps and let me know when you complete the mission.

I just beat Arcadia City Mission on Legendary and saved 1000 civilians. However I didn't get a gold medal but just a tin medal. What did I do wrong?

How was your combat efficiency during that mission?

Combat efficiency? Do you mean how many hornets were killed?

Correct. Combat efficiency is how many units you lost compared to how many enemy units you killed. So let’s say you lost 20 units and killed 100 enemy units, you would have a 5:1 ratio.

However your ratio is only part of your combat efficiency. It also takes into account how many buildings were lost vs how many enemy buildings you destroyed. Once all that is accounted for, you get your combat efficiency score. The best way to maximize that score is to lose minimal units by microing your low health units away from harm and healing frequently

Thank you for explaining tome about combat efficiency it has helped very much. However, I still have some questions: - If I any transports are destroyed will I lose points to my final score? - If I save Adam will this increase my final score? - Do I lose points if a base is destroyed or building like a supply pad or torrent is destroyed? - Will I get more points if I destroy the second covenant base after it is built or do, I still get the points if I still build my base before the convent base is built without having to destroy the convent base? - After killing 50 Elites and receiving the skull does my score increase or do I automatically receive the point once the 50 Elite are killed? In the game for have optional objectives that you can complete to so you can increase you score. For example: To get points you must: *Establish a base (500 points) *Establish a second base (500 points) *Rescue 500 Civilians (1000 points) *Rescue 1000 Civilians (1500 points) *Kill 50 Elite (500 points) To win a gold medal you must get more than 50,000 points. Which of these 5 objectives will it be easier to achieve a gold medal?

Yeah, don't ever play an rts this way. You should always look for the most practical approach. Notice how you didn't have more than 5 units on the field for almost 10 minutes of the match. You were never going to get the bonus objective for 1000 civilians. You have to defend the patrol routes and cargos. This isn't realistic with just 5 units. Once you get to the point of building hornets you will come across the issue of resource and production time. You won't be able to build more than two hornets a minute after the initial 10 minutes of gameplay. This is because you aren't receiving enough supplies without having a second base which also takes time itself to build and destroy. You couldn't do this ahead of time because your army was already being overworked. You add that with the fact that if you lost just 2 of those hornets your perfect combat multiplier is gone right along with that gold medal. This "strategy" requires perfect play and even with that you couldn't hit the perfect score. Obviously, you can very easily beat this mission in many different ways, but playing in the most practical way allows room for error. Even with a handful of mistakes you could still get a gold medal on legendary.
