In this mission of Halo Wars, Sergeant Forge is retreating from Arcadia City via the traffic tunnels. Your forces are severely divided and a pelican is transporting them to you. You need to hold a position so Omega Team can support you. Your job is to hold out as long as possible until they arrive. This mission is all about micro and macro-management. I can’t believe I never thought of escaping to the crater via that highway at the beginning! Keeping the ODSTs at the crashed Pelican to not only cut off Covenant infantry and Ghosts, but to also distract the Mega Turret was a total life saver.

Just finished this mission on legendary thanks for the help this mission sucks (hopefully in the future with the other missions they won’t be a difficult) My mind: that’s called foreshadowing

I know it’s been 3 years but that bridge and odst trick helped same with the Spartans sort of lost my tank but I finally beat it

Full air units works like a charm, especially if you put Spartans in 9 hornets

Definitely! I like keeping the Spartans on the ground for better damage overall, but the efficiency bonus for the Hornets isn't half bad.

I did a little experiment where I took second base and ignored first. Cleared main enemy and after 30 min. And when I went to check the first base there were well over 90 pop worth of hunters.

Got a one-two punch of a series of missions with both this mission and the previous. This one was a bit easier to figure out for me since RNG wasn't as bad, but this mission was definitely difficult.

The Tank dies instantly for me on highway and Forge goes down before i get on the highway. Highway has more enemies for me killing tank and downing Forge instantly for me

Are the banshees destroying your tank or is it some other enemy?

Select all units, go down the shorter off ramp, not straight towards your base, but towards the reactor where you get a second base. Select Spartans only and attack banshees or garrison then into the 2 crashed warthogs and covenant tower.

Literally never have time to get anything. Get overrun no matter which way I do it. At least I had a chance in the previous level.

It’s based on the in game timer. You just have to wait until they show up.

It’s most likely based on a mixture of the timer and completing objectives. I don’t think you have to destroy any bases for them to show up earlier. Let me research this so I can get you a legit answer.

I have two odst squads garrisoned on the bridge but the mega turret keeps destroying my buildings. Is this just luck if they distract it, or am I doing something wrong?

I just did the same strats and it works fine for me, mega turret just tagetting the garrison troops. Perhaps you must went thru the bridge at the beginning of the mission, and not expanding your troops too far away from your main base too early? That may aggro the mega turret and reset it's targetting.

The ODSTs on the bridge should prevent the mega turret from targeting your base. Just remember when you get your base, you should send your first forces after the mega turret to destroy it, don't wait or ignore it.
